When I went to Goodyear I was asking for an oil change and new spark plugs. After that I tried explaining that I had like a long start up in the cold I was worried about it so I wanted it to get checked on. besides that my car worked like new it has less than 100k miles. I drove it from ***** to ****** and no problems over 500 miles.
My engine used to be quiet now its rumbling at times, car is shaking at times, goes into limp mode, it is Idling rough and sounds like its revving as it just sits there, also my fuel has been getting eaten up since taking it to them, my aux ports do not work anymore, on the invoice they said my car died in the rain which it did not. I talked to a mechanic about it and he said that if it died I would not have been able to drive it to them, Everytime I took my car to them it just seems to be running worse than it did before, they told me that I have to now get it worked on by the dealership after all the "work" they have done. they said they cant help me now? even though they said they could before. I also called the previous car owners and they told me that I did not need any of the service they sold to me and said was needed, because they took it to a mechanic before they sold me the car and it was running fine.
I talked to a lot of people they said I should sue the company.

On March 29th 2024 I went to Goodyear.com to purchase tires. They had a promotion going on if you applied for the credit card you'd get interest free for 6 months if the amount spent was over $250. I purchased four tires. My order number is ********** & I spent a total of $729.25 for four tires (******) & installation ($119.80). I signed up for an appointment at one of their locations for March 26th, 2024. When I got to the store for the tire installation to be complete I was informed that there were additional charges for alignment. There was never a disclaimer that alignment was not included with the tire installation. This was beyond frustrating as there was also no option to have this service added on to my total order on Goodyear.com. In my experience alignment is completed with the tire installation and I am not charged additional cost. This felt like a sneaky way for Goodyear to make additional money. There is no reason to get new tires without alignment because if the alignment is off, it will cause the tires to wear oddly and cause issues down the road. I had no choice & was forced to purchase the alignment which was an additional $129.99. They were able to add this to my credit card but now I do not get the 0% interest for six months because the total cost was below $250. This additional service charge that was not offered to me at the time of my purchase and why is this on me as the customer? I tried contacting ********************** on March 28th via their website, filled out the *************** received a response that I needed to call this number so their representative could look into the matter. I provided all the specific information via their website. I don't have time to make a phone call when email can get the job done. I responded to them stating I provided all the information and they can see it. I have yet to have this OVERALL extremely poor customer ********************** addressed by the company. I am beyond dissatisfied at this point. Doesn't customer assistant exist?

      Business Response

      Good afternoon,

I have reviewed customer concern. The customer purchased ********************** online and her online purchase clearly shows exactly line by line what is included he=in their tire purchase. It clearly list Tires/Install/Taxes/Fees. Even breaks down the Install and shows amount for parts/labor. An alignment is a separate purchase that the customer has the opportunity to purchase where they chose to have tires installed.

      Thank you,

I had my tires replaced by the Goodyear Service Center and part of the installation package as noted on the bill was a TPMS Rebuild kit for the tire pressure monitoring system. A couple of days after leaving the shop I became aware of the fact that the TPMS was not working. I contacted Goodyear and was told this is not unusual and they regularly have problems resetting the system with Lexus Autos. They suggested I take it to my local Goodyear shop and have them reset the system. I did that and was told it was fixed I just needed to drive the car for a half hour and all would be good. That did not happen so I returned to the original Goodyear Service Center and asked them to repair the system. They could not and they told me they did not have the equipment to reset the system properly and suggested I go to Lexus to have it done. I explained this to ***** the Service Advisor that they charged me for it and it was their responsibility. He explained that it was not even though it was included in the bill. Later I spoke to *** who I believe is the Manager and he said to take it to Lexus and that new TPMS devices were about $100 apiece and they would be my responsibility. I contacted Lexus and they said there was a charge of $200 just to check out the system. I do not believe any of these costs should be mine to incur since the original work done included, according to the bill I received, a rebuild of the TPMS Copies of all related bills are attached

The business has reached out to me and explained that they do not have the "tool(s)" necessary to make the repair however they have been told that they will be receiving the tool(s) sometime in the near future. At this time I am unable to accept their response and close out the complaint. They have tried repeatedly to correct this condition and, to date, have failed to do so.

I am rejecting this response because: the business has explained to me that they do not currently have the necessary tool(s) to correct the condition. The tools have allegedly been shipped to them and are available at other Goodyear stores however they are unable to schedule an appointment for repair at this time (Tuesday April 16  1:30pm) because they do not yet have the necessary tools. I cannot accept their response until they have the tools and my car is repaired.

      Goodyear warranty claim# *******
On march 18th I was at discount tire in ********** *******. Store employee called Goodyear to report tread wear and was given a prorated price by ****** where I would be paying $97 a tire for my new Goodyear wrangler unltraterrain that were replacing my OEM tires. Which I thought was fair. And was ok with. the discount tire employee said he was going to have to charge me the full price of the tires which was over $1100 and said I would need to send the receipt to Goodyear for the reimbursement. I said of no I’m certain out doesn’t work like that. So he agreed to call back Goodyear . when he finally got ahold of the warranty department a women rep told him I would have to pay $152.90 a tire the Goodyear employee. I asked the store employee at discount tire to let me speak with the rep. I asked for a supervisor. She said she didn’t have one but could give me the corporate number. I then asked why they were not honoring the price the store employee and myself were both told of $97 ? She then abruptly put me on hold and after 20 minutes I hung up. I was at discount tire for 3 hours. 2 hours of being on the phone. 2 hours and 40 minutes of being on hold. My original price of tires were set to be $411 and change. After speaking with another rep they still wouldn’t honor the price and went from having to pay $411 for 4 tires to a final price of $625.86. I would like the initial price honored and a refund for the difference of $214

Monday, March 25, 2025, when the dealer called to submit a tire warranty claim.  The dealer was given an adjusted amount of $152.90 per tire.  When the adjustment was processed the customer received an adjustment of $124.50 per tire.  The adjustment difference is $28.40 per tire.  I offered to refund the customer $113.60 and the customer accepted the offer.

I purchased brand new tires on Feb 1st. On the 2nd I called to say back tire losing air. I was told drive it and sensors will adjust.Back tire continued to lose air and front tire over inflated and read 44. Goodyear **** finally took care in and said I needed to buy a new tire and did nothing with the other. I came home and called ******* Goodyear and he was going to see what he could do. Our second conversation I asked about the over inflated tire and he said I probably would have to buy a new sensor because my receipt would probably show I paid for a package! Whatever all that means. He was going to call me back on March 7th and I've heard nothing.I since had to purchase a tire and have a sensor fixed, not at Goodyear but another tire place. My issue is I let them know the morning after my new tires were on that it was leaking air and only reading 29 but somehow they claim I ran over something that was in the side of my tire. Not very likely. I had to get a loan to buy the tires in the first place and have had to still buy a new tire. Their customer service sucks and I will never use them again nor would I recommend anyone going there.

      Business Response

Following a thorough review of the claim, the customer purchased a replacement tire and road hazard certificates for remaining tires. The location of the second tire purchase allowed the customer to utilize the coverage for the tire in question, therefore covering the cost of the tire in full.

The customer was charged labor for the tire installation which we are refunding as well as the insurance for the tire in question.

Upon further review with the customer, we have offered to refund the labor charges as well as a single charge for the tire insurance, but the customer has refused the refund. The customer feels the tire should have been covered even though it was punctured, and she did not purchase the tire insurance from us at the time of original purchase.

I was contacted by Corporate Goodyear. First she offered me $22 then offered $29 but threatened to cancel my warranty thru the other tire place. The other tire place made it so I only had to pay one time and now my tires are all covered. Nothing from Goodyear was explained to me and I had someone with me when I made the purchase. I am still saying that tire was defective from day one .No matter how you look at it I am out $180 that I should not have had to be after a new tire purchase and terrible customer service afterwards.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/14/2024

      GOODYEAR CONSUMER RELATIONS

The customer has purchased tire insurance from another vendor, and we will not refund for a product not sold by us. If the customer wants refunded for the coverage she will need to seek refund from the other vendor.

      Goodyear Consumer Relations

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/16/2024

They stated they will not refund due to me purchasing warranty elsewhere. If that were the case then how could they threaten to cancel my warranty? I stand by my original statement that this Goodyear gave me a faulty tire due to contacting them the very next morning. From day one all my tire pressures were different and they never adjusted as I was told. I have pictures of my pressures that I can submit which started the month of trying to deal with these people. The bottom line is you should never have to buy a new tire right after paying for all new tires and reporting the issue within 24 hours. If you check the reviews which I now have done you will find other people have had this issue. Again, if they can threaten to cancel my warranty thru someplace else then they should also be able to refund for even having to go to a different store. They are terrible to work with and deal with and an offer of $29 and to cancel my warranty after I'm out $180 is ridiculous.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/17/2024

Goodyear keeps stating they offered a refund, they offered $22 then $29. I had to spend $180 to have my issue fixed. I had no choice but to go somewhere else. The ******* Goodyear that I called for help with this matter after 2 conversations stated he'd get back with me that day. I heard nothing from him for 6 days. Nothing until I filed my complaint. I wish to follow thru in my complaint with BBB, YELP, and a letter elsewhere.

I brought my Ford Escape in for servicing on 1/08/2024.
The next day I received a call from the shop informing me that my A/C compressor had worn bushings and was more than likely responsible for the loud noise I was experiencing. I opted for the second suggestion by the mechanic, a bypass pulley. I just wanted the car safe, and was assured that it would be a fine alternative to a new compressor.
Next day I get two separate calls, informing me that the bypass pulley they had got delivered to the shop wasn't the right one. They ended up putting back on my old, worn compressor and assured me it was safe.
The next day I pick up my car and overpaid. It turns out they charged me $153 to reinstall my old, worn out A/C compressor. I inquired the next day about this charge, feeling it was unfair to charge me because they didn't have the right bypass pulley (twice).
I was willing to let this go, but 2 days later my compressor seized while driving, putting me in an extremely dangerous situation. All my lights went out, I could barely turn my wheel, on a main road at 6:45am. Luckily I made it to work safe.
I called Goodyear to explain. They gave me a number for a tow, telling me it was on their dime. I did this and got a call from the tow truck driver that night telling me Goodyear didn't want to pay him. After an hour on the phone with the tow driver & the tow service, I rode my bike to the driver and paid him.
The next day the manager assured me he would reimburse me for the tow that he said he would pay for, and take care of the A/C compressor that they reinstalled and assured me was safe (which was not).
After 3 calls to follow up about the tow reimbursement, I realized I was just getting 'the run-around.' The manager who said he'd take care of the tow kept changing his story, finally ending at 'his boss didn't want to cover the tow after replacing the A/C compressor for free.' Which they did. Which they should have. I am now seeking accountability for the tow.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/05/2024

I just wanted to clarify that the tow itself, which is what I'm seeking compensation / payback for, was $265. The $1,000 and some change figure is what I paid for the "repair" the first time, plus the tow. I am only seeking that adjustment (to be paid back $265).

The company said it was going to give me $200 for purchasing 4 new tires. After the application was submitted the company said they never received any applications. The Concord Goodyear center lied to me about everything including what they did to my vehicle when it was in there shop.

Filled out a mail in rebate that was promoted when I bought the tires. It was a goodyear authentic rebate. After a few weeks didn't get the rebate so emailed them, they said I needed to call, called they said need to email then got passed around to 3 or 4 different departments. I was told give it a few weeks, never got it. Followed up again and they said they reissued the gift card. A few weeks later they said it was delivered to the wrong address and will be resent. Still dont have the card.

Over the past two years, I have acquired several Goodyear tires and have encountered the need for tire repairs due to punctures.
This pattern raises concerns regarding the quality of the tires, prompting me to question if there may be an unusual susceptibility to punctures.
With over two decades of driving experience and multiple vehicle ownership, I have never faced such frequent tire issues.
Notably, I have utilized the Eagle® Sport All-Season ROF 285/45/R20 tires for my vehicles.
Unfortunately, it appears that my concerns are shared by others, indicating potential quality issues with these tires.
As a valued customer, I am formally requesting a replacement set of tires, specifically the Ultra Grip® 8 Performance model.
Furthermore, I am urging for a comprehensive recall and examination of the Eagle® Sport All-Season ROF tires to assess their quality and durability.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/01/2024

      Hello,

We have contacted the customer and the issue she is having is related to road hazard nail punctures which is not a covered condition under our warranty and is not a defect. The Goodyear warranty is 6 years against material defects and workmanship. On 8-31-23 the customer contacted us for the same issue and did not purchase the road hazard insurance for the tires but we offered a goodwill concession and had our service center order the tires and the customer never showed for the appointment that was scheduled for 9-2-23. Road Hazard Insurance can be purchased when ordering tires through Goodyear and is a 3 year protection in the event of road hazard situations. We would need the customer to make appointment with our service center for inspection and we can see if we can help in some way. The customer has been advised of this and we did set an appointment with our service center for today at 9am in which the customer said they may change.

      Thank you,

Upon reviewing the business's complaint, I respectfully disagree with the assertion that this is solely a road hazard issue.
My primary concern revolves around the poor quality and workmanship of the product.
I request a thorough evaluation of the tire quality by requesting Goodyear recall these tires for quality review.
Following the scheduled appointment as instructed, Goodyear offered a set of tires for approximately $1600.
I decline this offer and insist on the replacement of all four tires.
Considering my 25% off Goodyear discount with ****, , it would be more cost-effective for me to purchase the tires outright.
Previously, I did not show to the appointment, because my discount made more economical sense than Goodyear's proposal. Proceeding, I actually got my tires installed by another Goodyear partner, *****.
Additionally, as a loyal customer, I would like my complaint to be escalated to the CEO of Goodyear.

On 2/23/2024 I visited the goodyear auto service center **** at **** **** ***** ****** ****** ***** ** ***** INVOICE ********** and **********. I took my vehicle in for a safety inspection and was told my tires failed for age. First there is no age requirement for tires to fail safety inspection in **. Being the technician failed the inspection I decided to let them change the tires and perform an alignment on the 2012 chevy cruze. When I took my car in there were no ses or tire pressure lights on. After picking up the car at closing time I notice the tpms light was on and the car was pulling hard to the left, which was not a problem before they serviced my vehicle. The total charge was $709.69 for the tires, mounting, balance, rotation, tpms rebuild and tire disposal. I drove home and checked the tires pressure and the front and back driver and passenger tires were installed on opposite sides the sensors indicated. I was also charged $86.14 on a separate invoice for my alignment. I checked my tire pressure and found that my front driver tire (installed on passenger side) showed 23 psi, the front passenger (installed on the driver side) showed 31psi. The rear driver tire (installed on the rear passenger side) showed 32 psi. And the rear passenger tire (installed on the rear driver side) showed 35 psi. I called goodyear and was given an excuse that because they work on other cars besides chevy this is common and nothing to worry about. When I asked why the light was on I was told it was because my sensors were not reading correctly, even though I checked them with a digital tire pressure gauge. I asked why the car was now pulling to the side and was given an excuse about my alignment. These problems did not exist before they serviced my vehicle, even when I told them they made excuses saying it was my vehicle and not their working techs error. They asked to come back, I work and cannot take time off again due to them not doing the job correct the first time.

      Good morning,

Following a review of the customers complaint it is advised the best course of action is for the customer to make an appointment with the Goodyear Auto Service Center to have his concerns addressed. The customer has been provided with the locations phone number and the name of the store manager that is welcoming the customer back to address his concerns. The store manager was able to provide attached documentation that when the vehicle was released to the customer both the alignment and tire pressure were all within guidelines.

      Kindest regards,

I am rejecting this response because:
I would love to believe he does but if he did I would not have had these problems. Thus I would not have made a complaint with the BBB. I have attached a picture of the receipt for taking the vehicle into a different shop for them to check repairs. Again I am not going to return my business or my fleet vehicles business to your shop again. I expect compensation for the my time and the money I paid to the 2nd shop to check my complaints as well as refunding from the original amount I paid to your shop for work that was not done correctly. Why would I return to a store you own to let your workers try and cover up the errors you company made and deny the claim. Your technician did not complete the work he claimed to do and I demand a refund as well as reimbursement and time compensation for having to take my vehicle back in to be looked at. Please note this is not to repair the work you didn't do this was just to document your company's error with a 3rd party.

      Good afternoon,

At the request of the customer, I phoned the ********* location that he visited. When I called *********, I spoke to *** who was able to confirm their findings. *** advised that the customers vehicle struts are weak,
and need serviced which is causing the pulling the customer is experiencing. *** also
confirmed that the customers right axel boot is torn and is also in need of service.

The customer has been advised that proper maintenance of his struts will extend the life
of his new tire purchase. Without proper maintenance any potential issue with his tires will not be covered as it will not be a warrantable condition.

The customers request to be refunded for his tire purchase and alignment is being declined.

The Goodyear Auto Service Center provided the customer with the attached documentation showing that proper alignment specifications were achieved when he left the store, and
*********; a third party of the customers choosing, has confirmed the issues the customer is experiencing are not the fault of Goodyear, but required maintenance issues for the customers vehicle.

      Kindest regards,

I am rejecting this response because:

I have spoke with ********* and you are in fact leaving out the information that the tires rotation was not reset to the correct location as well as the tire pressure was set incorrectly. I was advised of the boot being torn by ********* but your technician made no claims of it while they had it. Could it be again your technician is not doing his work correctly? You want me to take time from work but when I say you need to reimburse me for that time you don't comment. You're trying to weasel around the work your technician did incorrectly by making claims of brakes and struts which have nothing to do with the work your business did not do correctly! Again please read and comprehend the initial complaint. Brakes and struts were never asked to be repaired instead I asked for your company to save face and refund me for the improper service done and to reimburse me for my time and costs taking it to another shop. If you are going to keep trying to manipulate the wording I will get *********s technician notes but again will then seek reimbursement for my time. Dealing with you I can see why you have such a low rating with the BBB and will make sure to post this on all social media platforms so others can see the headache your uneducated technician has caused for me. X and reddit as well as facebook should bring to light how you treat well paying customers and yet don't stand behind the work your shade tree technicians do. If you were smart enough to step back and think why would I waste my time and money as I have, to show you what your company did wrong. Yet you will fight back and forth over a few dollars when as a customer I have been going to your company for YEARS! again your approach to customer satisfaction is ignorance and your willingness to work with that customer to make it right is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. Again if you force me to return in store to ********* just to get the technician notes of the work YOUR COMPANY DID WRONG then I will seek complete reimbursement other ways. Just the way you ignored the main issue I had and brought up irrelevant service issues shows everyone who reads this just how quickly they should stray away from doing business with your company. If even one person reads this they will understand the frustration a consumer has when a shop lies about what their technician didn't do. STAY AWAY FROM GOODYEAR THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY THEN RUN YOU AROUND TRYING TO GET THEM TO HONOR THEIR LACKING WORKMANSHIP.
