I took my car to goodyear on 07/13 because it was making a loud noise. The technician told me the AC unit was broken even though it was Ice cold. I paid $1400 to fix the problem. on 07/14 the AC stopped working after only 1 day. I was told to take the car back and I would be priority. on 07/15 I bought in the car at 10am. No one would give me an Answer as to what was wrong. At 4pm they told me there machine was broken and they could not fix the car. I asked them what about the $1400 I paid to fix the car and got no answers.Business Response
Date: 07/18/2023
We have reached out to the customer via email and offered to have her return to the location when the machine in question was working and she refused. We offered to take her vehicle to another location that has the proper working equipment, and she was not wanting that either. Final offer was to refund the customer for the service she did not get done. We also offered additional refund back for the labor and she is requesting a full refund. The customer was advised some of the work performed had nothing to do with her AC unit work therefore we will not refund entire invoice.
The customer advised she was seeking legal counsel and we provided her with the appropriate number for her attorney.
Customer Answer
Date: 07/19/2023
I am rejecting this response because: They offered to send me to a location over an hour away in a broken vehicle or go back to the mechanic who damaged the vehicle. Neither of these are acceptable solutions. I have since had another mechanic examine the vehicle and fix the problem. He indicated that the vehicle was damaged by Goodyear when they were trying to fix it causing a leak in the system. The only solution is to return my money.Business Response

The customer was offered a refund for the services not performed at the Goodyear Service station plus an additional amount. The customer was demanding her entire invoice be refunded and there were other services not related to her AC that were performed and approved by her. The customer mentioned seeking legal actions and I provided her with the number to contact for her attorney. If the customer has an invoice from another facility where they documented, we cause damage she has not disclosed that to us. The customer needs to submit the invoice from the other service center where they vehicle was fixed, and we can proceed with a damage claim if that if what was determined. The customer can send invoice to ************************
Customer Answer
Date: 07/21/2023
I am rejecting this response because: All services on the invoice were related to the damage on the vehicle. I demand a full refund. I am working with the current technician and another independent technician to send an invoice and affidavits to the legal department showing the damage was caused to Goodyear and all line items in the invoice was related to the same service that was supposed to be performed on the vehicle. If we go this route, We are going to seek legal fees from Goodyear as they have caused additional damage to the vehicle and undue hardship to the owner.Initial Complaint

I have had TWO Goodyear tires blow out in the last month. The tires were: not previously damaged, well maintained-- including rotations and regular air pressure adjustments when necessary, had plenty of tread, and the DOT code revealed under three years of age. One had just had pressure checked the day before it blew out been, the other had its pressure checked three days earlier and blew out at 35 miles/hour. At age 60 I have had two blowouts in over a million miles of driving-- and both were made by Goodyear.Business Response

Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, I called the customer. I explained our warranty covers material defects and workmanship. I asked the customer if the tire was available for a inspection. The customer said he included a picture of the failure with the complaint. I explained, we cannot determine the current condition of the tire and the cause of failure through a photograph. The customer disconnected the call.Initial Complaint

I recently had my brakes fixed on 6.8.23. About a week and a half later I noticed the breaks started to grind again when I was coming to a crawling slow stop. I called the location and they said I could make an appt. The issue is I can't make an appt on a weekday as I work. I already had to miss work to get said brakes repaired. Twice now Including today 7.16.23. I was told I had to drop it off as there was no technician. The other time was over the phone. My issue is the braked were not repaired properly otherwise they would not be grinding. I cannot just drop my car off on a weekday as I have to work. It's going on 2 months and as I said the guy today (who Def needs to work on his customer ********************** skills) asks me if I'm dropping it off. I said no I will wait. His response was "not gonna happen, I don't have a technician:. That is no very good customer **********************, as they expected me to drop my car off (the only one I have for 2 days and get my cat back on what Tuesday?). So I will still be having to drive. Now I understand that mechanics shops are very busy, but in certain circumstances I feel they need to make things happen, especially when thus is their doing. I hate to even think it but we're the grades even fixed or did they just clean them. Theu have no problem trying to upset, but does not seem to care about fixing their mistake, while I'm having to continue to drive and risk possible further issues with my car. I want them to contact me with an appt on a weekend where I can bring in my car, have it fixed without any retaliatory possibilities due to me having to file this complaint. I will not be paying anything else I just want my brakes looked at and fixed to the extent of what was paid for. It can be a diff location if need be as well.Business Response

I purchased a brand new 2021 **** travel trailer on 2/11/2022. We have had the vehicle on the road for maybe 4-5 trips with less than **** miles on the tires. The tires stay covered to prevent any weathering. We were told by ********************* out of ***********, ** after they called that they have a 5 year warranty. After calling Goodyear myself they told me there is a 6 year manufacturer defect warranty. All 5 tires including the spare that has never touched the road have broken belts. Upon reading other reviews this is common on the Goodyear Endurance 225/75R15. We took the tires in and they declared yes they had broken belts. Goodyear decided to still charge us ***** per tire plus mount and balance for ****** total bill. I tried to talk to a manager when I called after the service rep told me she finds it hard to believe all 5 have broken belts and 2 different customer ********************** clerks would not put me through and said they do not transfer someone would call me. I never received a call. Then I got a call and they refunded 150 for the tires and still charged me for mounting and balancing because Goodyear refused to pay it. These tires are garbage and should have been covered with 0 out of pocket expense and then they made me put the same tires on it.Business Response
Date: 07/13/2023
Customer should have paid a pro-rated $31.17 a piece for the new tires since they are over a year old. I had taken that charge down to 0--n/c and customer would be responsible if the dealer charged mount&balance, installation charges for the new tires.Initial Complaint

In Dec 2022 I purchased 4 tires and had additional service totaling over $1,300 performed on my vehicle at my local Goodyear Retailer. The purchase qualified for a $150 rebate that was submitted online and approved (Rebate Claim # **********). In March when I called Goodyear to check the status of the Rebate, I was told the Rebate was processed and I would receive a card in the mail in the next 4-6 weeks. Today, four months later, I again called Goodyear's Rebate Dept. to follow up (************). I was told a Rebate was issued and that I would have to call ***** ****, the card provider to request a new card **************.
When I called ***** **** I was told they did not mail out a physical card to my address, but rather emailed an electronic rebate to me. Explaining that I hadn't received either, I requested a replacement Rebate be issued. I was told that the electronic rebate (never received) expired on June 30 and funds were forfeited! When asked for proof or verification that a rebate was emailed, I was emailed a copy of their "Terms & Conditions", that were accompanied with the rebate (again, never received).
WHAT A SCAM. Shame on Goodyear for engaging in such deceptive business practices. I have trusted Goodyear with my personal and business vehicles for over 35 years without issue until now. I was unjustly cheated out of a $150 Rebate I was promised and it is not acceptable. This is fraud and I demand compensation for what I was promised.Business Response

On June 10th 2023, I purchased with installation two tires for my **** ****** Camry Le from "Just Tires". After the new tires were installed, I drove approximately two miles, made a stop and saw that my tire cover was missing. The person who had installed my tires had failed to replace the tire cover properly and it fell off somewhere on the highway. I immediately returned to "Just Tires " and informed them of my loss. The manager wasn't there at the time ,but one of the workers who was behind the counter, inspected my car and told me that they would replace, not just the one missing tire cover, but covers for all four tires with the ****** emblem on the covers. I was told that the covers had to be ordered and that they would call me when the covers arrived. About a week later, when I had not heard from them, I returned to the business and spoke with the manager. The manager proceeded to inspect my car and questioned me about a missing side mirror ,that had been missing, long before my initial visit to this business, asking whether I'd been in a collision and insinuating that, that was the reason for the missing tire cover. I responded " no, I was not in a collision".I was then told by the manager that they would replace the one missing tire cover with the ****** emblem, which was fine with me. A week later I received a call from them informing me that they had a tire cover, but the cover did not have the emblem so they had to reorder another tire cover. About a week later I recived another call from them telling me that they have a cover and again the cover does not have the ****** emblem so they have to reorder. A few days later I called 'Just Tires' inquiring about the cover and was told the were still waiting for the cover to arrive. I waited a few days and returned to the business and was told that the cover had to be shipped from overseas. It's been almost a month since the loss of my tire cover, it should not take this long. They are giving me the runaround.Business Response

In September 2022, I got a 2003 Dodge Neon and brought it to Goodyear for an inspection and wheel alignment. They however couldn't do an alignment due to the car needing work with it's control arm being damaged. I brought it in for the repair that lasted all day along with them unfortunately snapping off one of my lug nuts and damaging a driver side front brake, regardless the repair was done and thought to have been done right.
Cut months later, it was discovered the subframe bolt which is apart of the arms and bushings was loose and possibly stripped which was discovered by another mechanic. The bolt was discovered that it may have got cross threaded and forced in by negligence or laziness by a mechanic by him keep tightening the bolt during the repair while remaining crooked rather than taking it off and re-aligning it right. The way the bolt was installed, it feels that it was going to snap off if any further tightening was done. This issue if not done, could jeopardize the cars life and could be junked if not done correctly.
Resolution I want is it to be repaired correctly and possibly free or at a lower rate.Business Response

Good morning,
We have been in contact with Mr. *****. We directed him back to the location for an inspection on his vehicle. The location took customer in the shop and showed customer the issue with his vehicle is there is a bolt that is rusted loose and was not damaged or caused by the location. This is a result of age of vehicle and elements that have caused the rust to break free. Location has recommended customer to see a Frame/Body shop for an estimate for repair.
Thank You,
*****

I’ve been getting my oil changed at Goodyear for over 10 years. This one time was different because the Goodyear had recently hired new employees and their Goodyear tool was left on my oil filter along with the oil filter being really loose which ended up causing an oil leak to my vehicle. The oil leak ended up causing my engine to seize up. I had to get my oil filter replaced, my oil pan replaced from oil leaking with metal on metal which caused my oil pan to needing replaced as well. I had to purchase a new motor and get that put on as well. The mechanic shop that replaced my oil filter and replaced my engine immediately knew that whoever changed my oil last and left their oil filter tool on my vehicle were the ones who caused the problem. I had the mechanic shop speak to the Goodyear manager as well as claims to break things down to Goodyear in mechanic terms since I’m no mechanic. Goodyear refused to take any responsibility for the damage caused to my vehicle. I sent them pictures of their tool, the oil pan with metal shavings in it, the old motor, receipt of my oil filter, invoices of what I had to spend on replacement and my claim was denied. $93.27 is the price of the oil service that I had done on vehicle from Goodyear. Then it cost me a total of $4740 to replace everything on my vehicle.Business Response
Date: 06/26/2023
We changed the oil on 3/31/23 miles of 125,531
On 5/5/23 ****** took his vehicle to * * * **** where they fixed a Hold in the oil pan $540.00. No Miles on invoice
On 5/27/23 ****** took his vehicle back to * * * **** where they installed a used engine. No Miles on invoice, No Shops name on invoice, No info on how they paid!
There is a picture of a oil filter tool left on the oil filter, this tool may be our tool. The tool fits on the end of the oil filter and could not have caused any damage.
This shop and our customer are saying our oil filter was leaking. There are No pictures of our oil filter leaking, I did ask for some.
The picture they sent in shows a DRY oil filter tool. If our oil filter was leaking oil then the oil filter tool would have been wet with oil.
If our oil filter was leaking then the oil filter tool would have had oil covering it, it does not!
There are no pictures or any proof that our oil filter was leaking, none.
What we do see is the shop ** * **** has noted down "Fix hole in oil pan.A hole in the oil pan can happen if they drove over something on the road, if this does happen the oil will leak out and cause internal engine damage.
Customer Answer
Date: 06/30/2023
I am rejecting this response because:
My vehicle was taken to *** **** because it had an oil leak from the Goodyear oil change. The oil leak was caused by Goodyear leaving my oil filter really loose which is what the auto place stated to myself and to Goodyear. There is no “may” to the Goodyear tool not being there tool. It absolutely is their tool because I sent the picture of the Goodyear tool that was left on my vehicle to the manager of the Goodyear store and he told me that it was their tool. There is no reason that a Goodyear tool with a loose oil filter should be involved with my vehicle at all after an oil change. Also the leaking of the oil caused metal on metal which is what caused there to be a tiny hole in my oil pan from metal shavings. The picture of the oil pan with the metal shavings was taken during the process of fixing the oil leak. Metal shavings aren’t just appearing out of thin air. The oil filter tool is dry to some extent because the shop wiped the oil off of it which the shop stated that as well. *** is a small auto shop they’re not a corporation. No *** **** doesn’t give out the multiple clipped paper copies that show what other services could be done after they fix a vehicle and didn’t have the mileage on the invoice like what Goodyear does. It’s really clear to *** **** and I that Goodyear is at fault. It’s just very unfortunate that owning up to your faults on Goodyear’s behalf isn’t important at all to their customer for over 10 years. I have a clearer understanding now that when a mistake is made on their behalf the customer means nothing.
