On 5/29/2023 I purchased 4 Goodyear Steadfast HT tires and had them installed by **** ******** Tire & Auto Service Center in *************** ** on 6/10/2023. After leaving the service center I received a TPMS error code on the dashboard, and then it went out so I decided to wait before going back to the service center to have them look at it. During the next week the TPMS light went back on and this time stayed on. So, I took the vehicle back to the service center to be repaired. The service center charged me an additional $95.39 to repair the TPMS sensor. I told them that should be covered under warranty since they should have replaced all 4 when the tires were replaced last week. The service center rep told me the TPMS kit included with my tire purchase only included the valve stems. Here is where my issue comes in: If you do a search on ****** and ask what is included in a "TPMS Kit", ****** returns the following info:
"The kit includes a valve stem retaining screw, the sensor, rubber seal, valve stem, washer, nut, and cap. The sensor end of the system mounts to the inside of the wheel and has a rubber gasket to prevent an air leak. Think of a TPMS as an advanced tire stem (valve)."Apr 30, 2021.
I contact both **** ******** and Goodyear to no avail. I believe this is false advertising and misleading when they charge you for a "TPMS Kit" and it is only the valve stem. I want to be refunded for the $95.39 charged to fix my TPMS Sensor.
Thank you!

Technician , sales rep and I witnessed a puncture and I was advised that the tire could be plugged but just tires do not plug tires only patches them so I agreed to take the vehicle to another shop that does plug tires and when just tire released my vehicle back to me when I decline to purchase another tire the technician had slit my tire with some sort of utility knife.Business Response

Our stores do not have knives and they do a patch plug combo not just patch. The customer came to our store with a damaged tire that needed replaced. It could not be repaired. Called and spoke to the customer.Customer Answer
Date: 07/03/2023
[BBB transcription via email]
It was stated in my initial complaint that the technician witnessed by the customer service representative informed me that the tire can be plugged but Just Tire does not do plugs on tires so if just tire does plugs why they couldn’t plug the tire ? It appears to me that I was being set up to be taken advantage of, my tire had a puncture from a nail key word is puncture not a cut nor slit and I know that there company has rules and policies and for this company to say that there employee doesn’t carry or have a knife on there person or within their work area is ludicrous and how would the company know if someone is or has broken the knife rule and whoever I spoke with at Goodyear inre to this matter she was very disrespectful and inconsiderate , unprofessional and could do without the harassment after being bullied by one of their shops.Business Response
Date: 07/06/2023
As stated previously whether our store does a patch or patch plug combo the tire was unrepairable and that is why it wasn't repaired. Our policy is we cannot repair a tire the has damage one inch from the sidewall nor the sidewall. There is no way we would know if an employee broke the rules and had a knife. The tire was already damaged and needed replaced so an employee would have nothing to gain by slicing the tire. The customer drove away on the tire so if they sliced it he would not have been able to drive on it at all. The tire could have split where the nail was while driving on it to the other location. The fact still remains that customer brought in a damaged tire that we could not repair. He needed to replace that tire whether at our location or another location.Initial Complaint

Goodyear offers a rebate on tires. And an attractive offer when you purchase tire insurance. I'm a consecutive customer and after this encounter of my rebate being denied I feel cheated.
Only reason I purchased these expensive tire was do to the rebate. I feel cheated of $150 dollars. I submitted my rebate and paperwork I had. And they couldn't accept because they didn't know what tires where installed. But nevertheless they Insured it and collected my money. But wouldn't give me the rebate! I feel cheated.Business Response

Purchased Goodyear tires (Assurance) from *********** I do not have the receipt (***'s club keep all receipts for their members purchases). With that being said, I requested nd was denied to prorate my tires instead I was given tires at full price (No Proration). I declined because I wanted to get the proration. In the meantime, a mechanic while fixing other items on the car. Brought to my attention the tires were wearing and it was unsafe to drive. Then, the took the old tires without proration and I ended purchasing new tires. Now my question here, the mechanic did not give me the other tires (Goodyear Assurance) back. I would like to know "whom is accountable for the cost of tires" which were disposed of by the mechanic. As I wanted to take the tires to **** Club and do a proration (switch-out) on the tires. Just wanted to find out what options/warranty are available in this regard. The mechanic basically disposed of my tires. That was money I never received and I wanted to return for the discounted tires. What would be the dollar associated with the fact of disposing those tires with a proration left for me to receive discount?Business Response

Dear Goodyear Complaints Department,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the service I received at your ********** ********* Goodyear location. My recent visit has left me questioning your commitment to customer satisfaction.
During my scheduled oil change appointment on June 1, which I had booked through your website, I encountered several issues. Despite receiving an email confirming a promotional price, the staff at ********** ********* refused to honor it, claiming the promotion had ended. This disregard for the email and the subsequent denial of service was accompanied by a distressing level of rudeness from the employee.
To resolve the situation, I contacted the ********* location and spoke with ********, who assured me that I could receive the price stated in the email. However, when I arrived at the ********** ********* Goodyear on Saturday, the service took twice as long as expected, causing unnecessary inconvenience.
Moreover, despite requesting a brake and battery check, as mentioned in the email, these services were not performed. The associate who assisted me during the paperwork process displayed exceptional rudeness and lack of knowledge, further adding to my dissatisfaction.
When I asked for a copy of the vehicle condition report, a different associate initially denied it, claiming it was for internal use only. Only after persistent reminders did he suggest alternatives, with no clear resolution. This lack of consistency and transparency in communication only strengthened my belief in the poor customer service at your establishment.
In contrast, my friend visited the ********** ********* Goodyear on the same day and received the promotional discount along with the promised services. This disparity between our experiences is both baffling and disheartening.
As a result of this encounter, I have lost all confidence in Goodyear's ability to provide service. I will not be returning for any future automotive needs.Business Response

Talked to both store mgrs. The first store our *** that customer went to couldn't get him in so they called the 2nd *** where customer went and they got him in and also honored his expired coupon price for the oil change. It did take a little longer as the mgr told me they are short staffed. I tried to call customer as I was going to also offer him a free oil change and his phone# didn't go through.Customer Answer

We purchased a car back in 2021 brand new with 42 miles on it. Recently we were told the tires were at 2/32 and we only put ***** miles on it. I checked the website for the tire warranty and did not show any information regarding the tire I have. So I called Goodyear to report the tire issue and I started to provide the information. The representative asked for my name , address and phone number. Then asked for the brand and the mileage on the tire I provided the tire brand which was eagle F1 supercar i guess I couldn't make it out on the tire but the representative told me that. Then he asked how many miles I have on the tire I told him ***** he immediately told me that the warranty was ***** and he could do nothing for me. Then I question him regarding where is this information located at on the website and he said no where it's just a good faith Goodyear offers. I find this very upsetting that they have a good faith warranty what does that mean ? Does it mean they play favoritism to certain customers. I think this is false advertising and taking advantage of the consumers.Business Response

On 05/20/2023, I had 4 tires replaced for $822.84 at Goodyear located on **** ********* *** ****** *********** *** Goodyear offered to price match if you order from the website. I did just that & scheduled to drop the car off. Upon arrival, the service representative was dumbfounded by the online request & set it up himself. He mentioned the services I had checked that were free of charge, would cost me. The 4 tires came out to be a good bit more than the estimate online. They ended up stripping a lug nut which I had to pay for. Upon further inspection, it seems they also broke the stud in half & never mentioned it. I noticed my tires were pudgy once I got home so I checked the tire pressure & they overinflated all 4 tires to 40-42psi. The max load being 30psi. I also noticed my rims had dirty hand smudges all over it. I’ve tried power washing & it’s still noticeable. The least they could’ve done is wash their hands or use gloves.Business Response

Good afternoon,
We have been in contact with customer and have apologized for his experience. We are pending having him going to our location for assistance with his wheel smudges and to make sure tire pressures are set correctly. We also are pending price matching- we have him sending a copy of the online price he was quoted and are awaiting his email with that estimate. We have assured the customer we will refund him for the lugnut location charged him for.
Thank you,
*****

I am rejecting this response because: Upon ordering tires online & showing up to the store, an employee had to set it up on their end due to the services I checked off (that Goodyear provides free of charge) would cost me. In end, they voided my online order. I received my car back with tires overinflated, a broken stud/lug nut (I was notified about the lug nut) & filthy rims. Goodyear (between the 3 retailers I sent over) doesn't want to respect their price match policy.

I purchased tires from Sams Club on 7/13/2020. On this date I bought GoodYear assurance 70,000 mile tires for $667.96. At this time the tires were new and measured at 12/32 for the tread and my odometer read 59,854 miles.
On 5/8/2023 I went into Sam's Club to have my tires rotated and one of the technicians told me that my tires needed to be replaced, and that per their policy they could not rotate my tires. The tire tread was measuring at 2/32 at the time. Also at this time my odometer was reading 108,185 miles.
At this time I was informed by the technician that I only got 48,331 miles out of the tires and that he would consider them to be defective, because I was about 22,000 miles short of getting the specified 70,000 miles out of the tires.
The tires have been rotated every 10,000 as recommended by Sam's Club.
The attached image is for two (2) of the tires. The other two (2) were purchased on the same day, but at a different time due to an issue with one of the rims that could not be fixed by the technicians at Sam's Club.Business Response

We purchased 4 new tires at Goodyear in Stuart in March '23 after the 4 new Goodyear tires we purchased just 2 years prior seemed to be wearing out much quicker than normal. Our Nissan Sentra is not used too often so there is no reason why the first set of 4 new tires should wear so fast. We paid a pro-rated cost due to the premature wear of the first 4 tires to have a second set of 4 new tires. Two months after the second set of 4 new tires were installed in March '23 (while on a curved overpass in Miami going 60mph onto 95N), the front left tire blew suddenly and we were forced off the highway into a dangerous neighborhood on a very hot afternoon with clean dress clothing to change the wheel to a donut spare. The blowout was so scary, we were lucky not to have been hurt with how the car instantly reacted to the violent blowout. After having to purchase a used tire in Miami just to make it back home in PSL, we got horrible service from Goodyear of Stuart. They actually told us that we did not have road hazard coverage though we had it with the first set. They could do nothing for us. The damage was a tire defect because the damage was on the side of the tire, not near the tread, and nothing was run over with the tire. Larry and crew at Goodyear have no intentions of standing behind their product. We will not be going back to Goodyear. We've had better tires and service at our local Walmart !Business Response
