On 11/22/2022, my vehicle was serviced for a tire patch repair, oil change, and tire rotation (please see attached digital receipt). Somewhere within that service, three lug nuts failed to be placed back on my rear driver side tire. Unaware that I would have to inspect my lug nuts being placed back on my car, I traveled from Somerset, New Jersey to Fayetteville, NC (approximately 450 miles). How I made it there without crashing is truly a blessing but grossly negligent on your technicians part. My four year old son could've been in the car!
Thursday, 11/29/2022 I contacted Goodyear Auto Service Center 0859 to notify them of this error. The technician said they inspect each vehicle before it is cleared and could email me those documents once he spoke with his manager. I have yet to receive a copy of those documents. I did not hear back from a technician until Saturday morning at 11:43am (48 hours later). I was unable to take the call because I was in the middle of laying my mother to rest. Obituary provided for proof. https://www***************************************************
The lack of accountability, professionalism, and sense of urgency from this particular store is disappointing and definitely cause for concern. **** ******e is the exception. She was extremely professional and empathetic regarding this ordeal. Customer service personified.

Since no one at Center 0859 wants to take accountability, I want someone from the corporate office to respond immediately for acknowledgement, apology, and FULL reimbursement (Receipt from Acura dealership is provided.)

I received the claim from the customer on 12/09/2022. Upon review of the claim, we agreed to refund the customer for the 3 lugs the labor and tax. Total refund to the customer was $281.96. The customer accepted the refund and verified the mailing address to issue payment. The claim has been sent to the district manager for review of the location's involvement.

      to me

      Good morning,
Here is my response to Goodyear's message. Below is the message I received from Goodyears' corporate office regarding my claim. Notice the lack of accountability and empathy on their part. I say again, this is at the Corporate level...sad.

      ******** *******
      Fri, Dec 9, 5:01 PM

      to me

      Hi ********

I apologize for the delay with getting back to you. I have reviewed the claim and will be refunding $281.96. That’s going to cover the 3 lugs and part of the tax.

Please verify the current mailing address and I will submit check payment.

The refund amount of $281.96 was never agreed upon. That was the number Goodyear offered and it is over half of the amount paid. As in when I went to Goodyear store # 0859, I left there with half the lug nuts I came with! Half seems to be the Goodyear standard... $520.67 is the amount Goodyear should pay as they are 100% accountable for this ordeal (please see attached receipt). The lack of accountability, integrity, and effort to improve safety measures for customers is disgusting.

You messed up (The District manager is the only one honest enough to admit and apologize so far). Own the mistake, make it right and improve your systems. Reimburse me the remainder of the money owed ($238.71) and I PROMISE, I will never utilize Goodyear's service ever again.

Standing by for any feedback you may have.

The customer was refunded for the parts he claims we damaged/left off. The customer had the dealer replace all 5 lugs when the customer claims in his initial complaint we damaged/left off 3. No further refund will be offered.

      Goodyear Order #**********, ******, CA,
On Dec, 17, 2022, The mobile van arrived, they stated forgot a tool and started to used a big wrench. Around 40 mins, all wheels was put on, they called me and shows me rear wheel missing a nut cap with the screw was broken. He said because the people who did the tire/wheel before and made it too tight. And when they did it… it broke. I was in shock! After I clam down a bit, we contact customer service and their manger. I checked the wheels, and noticed one of the nut cap on the left side front wheel seems like more out than the other…. then the guy just easily took it out, and used a big wrench tried to tighten it on… but it seems like that nuts was super loose. Then he said that one got the same issue as the rear one. I was so mad and seems like they tried to conceal and covered up the damage. the guy tried talk me through to leave. he kept telling me, we can still drive the car like that, and those two wheel nuts broken is not their fault. Later, their manager agreed to speak to me, His name is *******. he also tried the same way as the guy said, not their fault, it was whoever prior them made it too tight… after I agued, he said will ordered the parts and come back next weekend to fix it. But I don’t trust them anymore, and I called Subaru dealer, scheduled the earliest appointment to fix, he manager said if I do that, I can send him the bill later for reimbursement. But he keep refusing, I call tow truck and rental car. He said the car can drive.
After thinking over the weekend, we were wondering maybe more than just two wheel’s nuts were broken or damaged. If they used the improper tool or way to do it for the whole process. This is not just a simple incident, they were very irresponsibly and ridiculously tried to conceal the damaged of the wheels, and this could cause serious accident and huge damage to the car, and put my family safety at risk.
A longer and more detail version doesnt fit here, see attached.

a satisfactory resolution. Our understanding is that Mr. *** drove to the
Subaru dealership on 12/19, picked up his vehicle 12/20, and we covered the
cost for the dealership to replace any parts damaged during installation. As a
goodwill gesture, we also refunded the cost of tire installation on 12/21.Tell us why here...

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/28/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate you refunding the installation fee for the tires.  However I’m still very unhappy about the fact that the guys concealed the damage. We could have gotten into an accident. Thanks God my husband saw it.

And because of the damage, I didn’t have a car for Monday and Tuesday to go to work since my car was in the dealer.

Can you give me some compensation for the inconvenience your installation team caused to me.  I live very far from my work so Uber was not an option.

Over the past 4 years at least I have spent over ****** each year in repairs to my ***** vehicles, due to the amount of money I have been spending I have been looking into *****. Recently I have discovered that maybe it was not ***** and in fact Good Year auto itself. I have most of my receipts but I needed a few more. I have been trying to reach the general manager for over 2 months, and keep getting the run around about how the general manager or owner will call me when they get a chance. For instance my car would not start when I left work one night, I get a boost and my car starts and nothing on my dashboard lights up, when I take it to the shop they tell me I need a cluster which they will charge me **** for. I drive my car home and I before I could get paid again my car battery is dying and Im stuck at work again. Once they get my car back it takes them 2 days to look at my car, the clerk said they replaced the wiring to my fan and battery because my fan drained it, free of charge, all of this is caused my dashboard lights to come back on. I dont know what else to do at this point

We were issued a rebate via promotional Visa gift card. We had the card less than six months before it expired due to lags in delivery times. I requested a replacement but Goodyear customer service was not helpful. What poor customer service that we would have a gift card for less than six months when the rebate promo said a term of Six months. I would simply like a replacement Visa card in the promised amount if $100 valid for longer than six months ideally.

Bought 4 goodyear maxlife assurance tires since November of 2021. These tires are supposed to be good for 80,000 miles, top- of- the-line tires. These tires leak air like nobodys business. My tire indicator light was just on today where I had to put more air in the tires. My tire indicator has been on more than ten times since November of last year. My tire indicator light was on once in 3 yrs when I had factory tires. I've made two different trips to Goodyear dealers to fix the tires. Yet they fix one problem and then another tire goes bad. These are the worst tires in the history of mankind. I wouldn't wish these tires on my worst enemy. When I went to **** to fix a leaky tire, they said they couldn't fix the tire and refused to put it back on because it was unsafe to put the tire back on. These tires are unsafe and should be taken off the market. These tires are junk and yet Goodyear refuses to fix the problem of leaky tires that create more problems than termites.

The tires were not prooerly sealed and never have at this location. They should've replaced the tire valve stems on all four tires. I continue to spend money and the problem persists. I've made a 45 mile trek to ********** multiple times since April and they never address the problem of leaking tires. Replace the valve stems on all four tires for free and this case will be closed. Not spending any more money because of a problem that Goodyear caused and refuses to fix.

We had a radiator flush performed on our 2011 ****** Prius at Goodyear in ************, **.on October 2, 2022. After picking up the vehicle shortly thereafter my wife noticed the heat not working and the radiator fluid was empty. I took it back to Goodyear a few days later which after having the vehicle 2 days they said it appeared that the water pump was bad. My wife called me minutes after leaving that time and said the vehicle was shuddering violently. We then took it to Sunrise auto repair who 1st told us it appeared to be a cracked head gasket and likely done due to the service performed incorrectly but they were unwilling to commit as they weren't present when the service was performed. I spoke with the Goodyear manager at the ************ location and he said they have insurance for these instances but they required written statement from another auto repair company stating it was due to their work which is when we took it to ******************** who, at a cost of nearly $600, confirmed it was a cracked head gasket and in their opinion felt it was likely due to the service performed incorrectly but again, as they weren't present when service was performed, wouldn't commit to a written statement.. Goodyear's insurance claim adjuster went there and they claim no correlation. We feel the opinion is biased and we would like some information on other steps we could pursue as well as confirmation on what certifications the technician would have to had to work on hybrid vehicles. Our vehicle ran fine prior to their service performed & we feel certain it was due to their work. We would like to know what certification ******************* was required to have & verify he had them. We took it in for a simple *************** the car is useless. ********************, where are vehicle is now taken apart, has informed us the engine now needs to be replaced at a cost of nearly $12,000. Please contact me to answer questions I may have before we pay for an attorney.

I had an appointment to get tires installed on my car November Friday the 18th at 8am. I dropped my car off the day before on the 17th because there was a big snowstorm about to hit western NY and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to drive to the garage Friday morning. I took my key inside let the people wor**** know my car was there and they said that was okay to leave my car and they would get to it asap. Snowstorm hit. No one responded to any of my calls all wee***d finally drove out on Sunday the 20th to find whoever plowed the par**** lot at Goodyear has destroyed the passenger side of my car and was buried under a huge snow mound. I have been calling and calling the damage department at Goodyear and being kept on hold for hours, I have left emails, voicemails and visiting the garage to get something done about this for 2 weeks and nothing has gotten done to rectify this situation. Apparently the car has been sent to a garage to fix it but nothing will get done to the car if the garage doesn’t get any payment on it. It’s been 2 weeks I have been without a car, a car that gets me to work everyday a car I need because I travel for work. And it has been very difficult to Uber and find rides to and from work I need my car back fixed now. Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:

Because the car was on Goodyears property and they have no information on the plow service at all. They have no proof of insurance for the plow service. Also the village of Hamburg requires all plow services that want to plow and do business in the village of Hamburg are required to have a permit to do so. I did purchased a tire at this Goodyear location on 8-4-2022, total was $213.00. later on we realized ,the tire started to lose air, frequently. My wife and I decided to called on Wednesday 11-16-2022 and explained them what was happening with the tire, so they asked us to bring the car next day at 11 am. On Thursday 11-17-2022 I took the car into the shop and for some reason I parked on front of one of the garage doors. When I came into the office, one of the Tech's rudely told me to move my car, without even saying please. I explained him that I have an appointment at 11 am and I parked there, because I notice the garages were empty. I assumed they will work in the car soon. The Tech proceeded to tell me that " If I was at the doctor's office and I had an appointment at 11 , the doctor would not take care of me right away." The way he said it, was very demeaning, that I felt insulted and stupid.
So I let him know that the doctor usually don't let me wait too long when he is not busy". I also told him that If he wants me to move the car; he could do it himself. So I put my keys on the desk and he just did not say anything and he left the room. When he came back, he was with another tech that claimed to be the manager; but this manager did not solved anything. They both told me that they would not take care of me and did not want any business with me. So they left me alone and did not return. I took my keys and went to the car, not knowing, what to do. So I seated in the car and I thought for a little bit and then I left. Later I called the 1-800 phone number for good year. I put a complaint, which did not take me anywhere, because they just told me to go to another Good Year an get it fix. I don't think there is a need to treat people in such a rude manner, specially if we are in position of serving the public. What I would like as a solution is to have my money back and they can keep their tire. I won't be having business with them today or in the future. Thank you

The customer was notified that we will cover any repair cost to the tire if they are charged. The tire has coverage for free replacement if not able to be repaired. We will not refund the cost of the tire as it has coverage.

I am rejecting this response because
The good years location representatives refused to provide service to us at the location that I made the appointment. I was degraded and disrespected by the staff, now I have to accept to be serve at another location happily.  The only solution for us here is to return their tire, refund our money and grant their wishes. we take our business somewhere else. I believe customer satisfaction with Respect should be a priority to every business and I see Good year employees don’t care about it, so I do not want any business with a company that allows this kind of treatment.  We want our money back. Thanks

We have offered to refund the customer if they are charged for a tire repair only. The customer purchased insurance on the tire and is covered for unwarrantable conditions therefore we will not refund them for the tire purchased. We gave them the option to go to any location for the repair and to send in the invoice for reimbursement if they are charged.

I am rejecting this response because:

I simply would want the cost of the tire back due to the fact that I was mistreated by Goodyear employees which as a whole reflects upon the company and what they stand for. If they are willing to protect employees that insult customers, then I will not be doing any more business with Goodyear. For me personally, this situation will be justified after I receive a refund for the tire. It is not the matter of getting the tire fixed at a different location, it is the principle that GoodYear stands for employees that rudely treat paying customers.
