1 starDO NOT USE US Interstate and Rail!!!!
Reviews were good (until you do a deep dive), price was right, but they don't deliver on their promises. Also, your furniture will be damaged, some will be missing and it could be days, even weeks before you get your stuff. It does not matter what they tell you on the phone or what you sign in the days before your move.
They have you sign the final papers as the workers are distracting you packing the truck, asking questions, etc. The brokers add a delivery window of 3-30 days (no matter what they've told you) into the final paperwork, in small print, in an area you've already signed off on. Once your belongings are on their contractor's trucks, they claim to have no knowledge of when your items will be delivered or even where they are. There is no contact until the driver calls you the night before delivery.
Now, to be fair, we did get our stuff in 10 days, though we were promised 3-5 at the most and we packed accordingly. From what I read on a couple websites we were VERY lucky. More than one review had people discussing how they were desperately trying to reach these people because their medications and dialysis equipment and the like were on those trucks. They too had packed according to US Interstate and Rail's claims.
So, we now have a refrigerator with a large dent in the door, several dings, dents, gouges and scarring of our furniture, a couple of pictures with broken glass, my large 'pocket watch' clock has the top broken off, even the back of my mattress was ripped. They also literally cover everything with low quality packing tape that leaves a sticky residue on almost everything.
Also, a large floor lamp, a rechargeable sweeper and heaven knows what else I haven't realized yet did not arrive with all our other things. But they never switch items from truck to truck.....sure they don't. Those boxes were so beat up I'm surprised more wasn't damaged.
Always check with the BBB before hiring!Review fromBailey D

1 starWORST COMPANY EVER. Trust me on this - DO NOT USE. I could go on and on about everything that happened, but to keep it short - they did not pick up my items when they were suppose to, then I waited two months before receiving the items. Once I finally received the items, my barstools, side tables, and boxes were all broken. I was missing items, but they did not care. I paid over $3,000 dollars MORE than the initial quote to move a studio apartment. They will not answer phone calls - EVERYTHING IS A SCAM. I have no idea how they are still in business. I never leave reviews, but I am trying to save you. DO NOT USE.Review fromMike G

1 starAs a young family with a newborn, we were excited to settle into our new home. We hired US Rail and Interstate Movers, expecting a stress-free experience, but it turned into a nightmare. They assured a comparable cost to U-Haul, but on moving day, they demanded an extra $7600, threatening deposit forfeiture. Feeling trapped, we reluctantly agreed.
The 16-page contract had a clause giving them 30 business days for delivery. Our belongings are stuck, and we're sleeping on the floor with a newborn. Avoid US Rail & Interstate Movers, broken promises, shady practices! They've caused immense stress. Share our warning, and urge change. A moving company should alleviate stress, not add to it.
This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. It's heartbreaking that a company can take advantage of a young family. We trusted them to start our new life but find ourselves in this distressing situation.
Their lack of transparency is appalling. They assured a reasonable cost but demanded an exorbitant amount on moving day. The 30-business-day delivery clause feels like a tactic to hold our belongings hostage. This is not how a reputable moving company should behave.
Their unethical practices left us with no furniture or essentials for our new home. We seek legal assistance to scrutinize this questionable contract. Companies like US Rail and Interstate Movers must be held accountable.
To anyone considering using them, think twice. Don't let them take advantage of you. Find a moving company that values transparency and customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, we strongly advise against entrusting your move to US Rail and Interstate Movers. Share this warning and hope for change. Moving should be positive, not a nightmare caused by an unscrupulous company.Review fromMichael F

1 starI was initially given a reasonable quote by this company so decided to use them for my cross country move. Upon arriving at my house the day of my move, they informed me that my move would cost an ADDITIONAL $8,000 from what I had already paid due to “the size of my move”. I was initially quoted for about 600 cubic feet, which was then more than doubled to 1400 cubic feet I was forced to pay for because they already had my items on their truck.
I couldn’t believe that my move would be that big I was moving out of a 700 square foot condo.
My delivery was then held hostage until I paid their driver an additional $1,700 for a Uhaul they had to rent because their “80 foot truck” supposedly wouldn’t fit in my 100+ foot driveway.
Upon delivery, my items were delivered in a small uhaul (confirming my belief that this wasn’t the large move they tried to tell me it was) and all left in my garage for me to unload, unpack and put together. Upon unpacking I came to find out that a box of my music gear (that this company packed) was now missing. Equipment totaling over $10,000.00 now unaccounted for, as well as multiple items such as my TV, Couch, entertainment center and other music equipment all broken. Along with that, there were numerous items that did not belong to me.
Hoping that it was a mix up and that maybe I got someone else’s items and they received mine, I tried reaching out to the company numerous times with no response.
After filing a claim, the claims company reached out to me and informed me that my move did not cover the $25,000.00 per item that they told me, but instead only 60 cents per pound, making my reimbursement $91.00.
Not only am I out from being severely overcharged for the move, but now I am out thousands of dollars worth of musical equipment that I have acquired over the years, while this company refuses to take any accountability to try to help me recover/replace my lost and broken items.Review fromCarol E

1 starAll the reviews that say not to waste your money are absolutely correct. We saw a lot of reviews about when the movers arrive they ask for 800 dollars plus more money because “they quoted you wrong.” Let me tell you, they intentionally give you a false quote just to get more money from you when they arrive. This company is an absolute scam, all the negative reviews you see are real. They WILL scam your money, do not trust this company. They get you signed in a contract so that when you refuse to pay more money they still get their money.Review fromJoseph J

1 starIt is a scam. They low ball your quote to get your business, then they send an unqualified crew who could care less about your possessions and pack them terribly. Then while having your items in transit they call you and tell you unless you pay them a substantial amount of money they will not deliver your property. They are a modern day MOB! It’s a true shake down! They hold your own property hostage for money! Do NOt Use These People!!!Review fromMark F

1 starI believe alot of these reviews are written by the employees. After the nightmare I went through. In short I had a motorcycle, now I have over $3200 in repair costs. Plus, my initial quote of $4,800 ended up at almost $9,000.
Scam is to kind of a word for this company.
Looking back, I should have got a Uhaul and did the job myself. You may want to consider this option. On reading the reviews, alot of people have been taken advantage of. Not just this company, but many othres.
I was told my bike would be crated, it was not. Just lean up on the side of the trailer. One ratchet strap and a blanket. They called me on the delivery date and said they had a flat and couldn't make it until the next day.
This company told me they don't out sourse to brokers, but they did on both pick up and delivery. Very broken English, so communication was to there office staff via phone. So my quote was raised because there driver did a video of my stuff. He sends it to dispatch and they somehow come up with a bogus figure on cu/ft. This is common practice for them. They know you are moving, my lease was up so I had no choice.
Bottom line, they will tell you what you want to hear. But they will not follow through. I am in contact with them. I told them my bike was badly damaged, probably from the flat they had on route.
After weeks of negotiation they offered me $60.00.
I did not take the offer and unfortunately will have to take the loss.Review fromKatherine C

1 starThis honestly the sketchiest company I have ever worked with. First they were supposed to pick up my things on 7\21 and they didn't. No communication or anything. When I called customer service no one knew anything and it took me 5 people to find out they were coming the next day. They showed up at 1230 and the guys waited 2 and a half hours for my landing paperwork. They messed up the paperwork 3 times and I had to wait and wait. They finally got it right and of course almost doubled the price. Now my things still are not here and no one has any answers. Customer service is useless because all they do is tell me I have to wait. I am sure I should report my things stolen at this pointReview fromStanley S
