With the exception of infant formula there are no requirements by any Federal Law of expiration (best by) dates on food items. In ****, the expiration date requirements includes formula, but also extends to baby food and over the counter drugs. There is nothing illegal in selling products beyond a recommended sell by date. This information is stated on the *** website. The expiration dates of the items were photographed and posted in the auction posting for each of those items. We also have inspection dates where bidders are welcome to come to the location before the auction closes and inspect any item they are interested in to see if it is something they would feel comfortable bidding on.Review fromKeith C

You always want to report any missing items to the removal staff so they can be written up to be looked for.For items that have been reported to the removal staff as missing, the warehouse will look for missing items after the removal days have passed for that auction. If the items are found, an email will be sent to you notifying you that it has been located. If they are not located within 4 business days after the last removal day, the system will automatically generate a refund for the itemReview fromCarol C

My first (and only) experience with BidFTA was beyond horrible. I bought 2 items, neither was remotely like the item descriptions. The first was a completely different item from described (it was described as a self-cleaning cat litter box....it was not) and second was described as new but was actually dirty (it was another automatic cat litter box that once I looked inside trying to figure out why it didn't work, I saw it was clogged with *** ****...probably what broke the box in the first place). Yes I understood that buyers were supposed to inspect the items before leaving the premises but they were big items and I did not pull them out of the box and closely inspect inside them. The descriptions were so far off from the actual model and the condition of the item it was outrageous. Never will buy from them again.BidFTA

I had an overall positive experience at first with BidFTA. My wife and I knew there would be risks with some items and ended up getting some nice things for much cheaper than retail. However, we ended up bidding on a set of headphones that were listed as brand new. There is a policy that states that you must inspect the items before leaving or else you cannot get a refund. Well, the headphones needed to be charged for 2 hours before turning on. The location closed in 15 minutes, so we left. Come to find that the headphones were NOT new, as one of the headphones does not work. We contacted support, who said go to the location. We went to the location, and they said contact support. Overall, no one could nor would refund the item. We had another experience where we bought an ice maker that was listed as a certain brand. Upon taking the item, it was actually a 2 year old ice maker of a different brand. Since it was listed as preview for condition, it could not be returned. Overall both these experiences left a very sour taste in my mouth and made me realize how dishonest, whether accidental or purposeful, these auctions are, even with brand new status.Given the lack of customer support with this company, I would advise steering clear. Needless to say, we will never be purchasing through BidFTA again.BidFTA

We deal in secondary market items. Secondary market means, these could come from customer returns, overstock, shelf pulls or display/floor models. We have no way of knowing if a customer used the item prior to returning the item or if the supplier simply had too many and sold them to us as overstock. We state clearly in writing throughout the website, the terms and conditions and even signs in our warehouses that we do not test items, we do not assemble items, and we dont verify part lists to confirm completeness. We use 6 different kinds of descriptions when lotting items:Brand New, Appears New, Open Box, please Use Preview, Unverified Condition and Damaged. The following are the definitions for each that are posted in the terms of our auctions: Condition of Brand New: Brand New items are new and unused merchandise. It may not be in its original packaging. They should perform as expected. If you pick up your item and it is not new, or does not work, you can return that item before you leave the pickup location. These items are guaranteed for functionality and completeness. A bidder must examine the item thoroughly when picking up. If the item is not brand new the bidder MUST report this at the warehouse prior to leaving the premises. Once the bidder has left the premises with the item, BidFTA.com cannot issue any refund for issues arising with the item Condition notation of "Appears new": these are items that appear to be in a new condition or have never been used previously. These items are not tested for functionality or completeness -for items that are marked "appears new" a bidder must examine the item thoroughly when picking up. If the item does not appear new or unused or if there is an issue, the bidder MUST report this to the removal staff. prior to leaving the premises. Once the bidder has left the premises with the item, BidFTA.com cannot issue any refund for issues arising with the item. Keep in mind that an item can be listed as Appears New and still be incomplete if the parts available are in Appears New condition. Condition Notation of "Open Box" "Please Use Preview" or "Unverified Condition": Items marked "Open Box" "Please Use Preview" or "Unverified Condition" indicate that they could come from a multitude of circumstances - shelf pulls, overstock, returns. These items could be incomplete and have not been tested for functionality. Taking advantage of the listed inspection days is strongly recommended for these items. BidFTA.com. cannot issue refunds on these items if there are issues arising. Condition notation of "Damaged": Items marked "Damaged" could be new or used, but are noted to have certain damage. If possible, items will have secondary photos that display the damage, but are not still not tested for completeness and functionality and could have more damage than found upon being inventoried by BidFTA.com. BidFTA.com. cannot issue refunds on these items. Being familiar with these terms is very important as to how the items condition is assessed. They are also important to know because they tell whether or not your item can be refunded. You'll want to inspect all of your items prior to leaving the warehouse. Plug them in, take them out of the boxes, see how they work. If they are lotted as "Brand New or Appears new" and there are any issues, you can discuss a refund with the removal staff at that time. However, if they are lotted as "Open Box", "Please Use Preview", Unverified Condition or "Damaged" and once they've left the premises, they are no longer eligible for a refund. We always recommend doing a little homework online for larger purchases. Double check to see how many boxes the item should be in. That way you'll know if your item is complete or not. An item can be listed as Appears New and still be incomplete if the parts available are in Appears New condition. All of these terms are posted in every auction and must be agreed to in order to place a bid.All items must be inspected. If it is an item that is difficult to inspect, such as something requiring a monitor or fuel to test, that is something you need to take into consideration when bidding on it. Once an item leaves the location, it is ineligible for a refund.Review fromAmanda M

This place is almost a scam! The warehouses are filthy and unorganized. Theyre understaffed and staff is rude. The manager Tony is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across and he will no doubt run that place even further into the ground with his lack of management and customer service skills. I honestly dont know how he is employed at all.BidFTA

This company should be held accountable for extortion and the use of illegals to run there sweat shop. I arrived at the auction house at 5:45 on my last day only to be greeted with a gorilla of a man not allowing people inside. This gorilla did not work there only wanted his wife to get off work early. I complained as usual to the so called customer service portal only to be told that I wasnt getting my item nor was I going to get a refund. They said no one is permitted inside after 5:45 that 6:00 means thats when you have to be out. Well I beg to differ as I have been to an auction and have been let inside at 5:55. How is anyone to know your, yet another way you extort people, hour policy if it is not stated anywhere on anything? This place just gets worse and worse. Dont you make enough money off of people with you scams and lies? You will answer for your deceit one day and I pray that day is soon.BidFTA

The initial statement in this complaint honestly doesn't even deserve a response. In the future, I would recommend re-thinking your accusations and leaving your prejudices out of a business complaint. Most locations are open from 1:00pm-6:00pm. Of course, we request you arrive in enough time to pick and check out your item to be out by 6:00pm rather than getting in the door 5 minutes before closing so our staff can go home, but you can arrive by 6:00 and get in.Review fromEric

Last month, I bought a pallet from BidFTA Louisville. When I went to pick it up, I was given two pallets & was told by multiple employees - including the manager - that the pallet I bought had broken apart, fallen off the skid loader & had to be repacked onto two skids. Broken pieces were tossed on the tops of the pallets and the boxes were clearly busted up. Because there was clear evidence of mishandling, I tried to refuse acceptance and was told I had already paid for it and that I had to take what I'd ordered. Upon getting the pallets home, getting it unpacked & surveying the damage, I decided to email the company. Most of the items were broken beyond repair and were unusable in any other capacity. On September 3rd, my wife sent the email detailing the incident & asking for a refund. On the 14th, we received a reply saying they would not be assisting us with a refund. Worse than that, a much different version of events was given & I was told matter-of-factly what had happened by a person who was never there. Basically, I was called a liar. We've bought quite a bit from BidFTA recently - single items and pallets from three states. It was our experience that decent deals could be gotten ONLY if you paid VERY close attention and were diligent in checking items. However, don't be fooled. This is a shady company. If the fine print isn't enough to dissuade you, then let this be: They have no qualms about lying to keep your hard-earned money. I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing here. We will not be using them any longer.BidFTA

The person who loaded your pallets was the warehouse manager. She advised that your pallet was never dropped, that it was leaning, so it was unwrapped and placed on 2 pallets. Both pallets were delivered to your vehicle without issue. This is simply what happened with that particular pallet. No one is calling anyone anything. All pallet lots are non-refundable. This is written into the Terms of every auction and posted clearly on the auctions that pallets are in. We always recommend taking advantage of the inspection days/times to go to the warehouse and have a look in person at any pallet you are interested in, because they are non-refundable. You won't be able to unwrap the pallet, but seeing them in person could help you decide if you would feel comfortable bidding on them. Because of the nature of the business, we understand the scrutiny we are under and using deceptive tactics to try to sell an item certainly wouldn't result in a long-running business with a solid bidder base. We try to be as transparent as possible in all of our business dealings.Eric

Im not sure where the dishonesty is orniginating within this organization, but it was the manager, the operator of the skid loader and another employee who assisted in loading the pallet that let me know the pallet had been dropped. Also in attendance was a former police officer who witnessed the exchange and who also questioned why I'd have to take possession of goods that had been damaged by warehouse employees. As for the recommendation to take advantage of the inspection day, this would have made zero difference since the pallet was damaged during delivery. Though I commend the employees for their initial transparency, this interaction and response just further cements the reputation of rife dishonesty that this company has generated.Review fromAnil R

Where do I start? I was double charged for items, I wasnt refunded for items that werent there that I paid for. I had to make 2 separate 4 hour trips just to get the few items I ended up with. I could not get anyone in support to solve the issue. Every time I email them I get someone different and they never address my issue. They make it impossible to solve unlawful charges. So far, I am owed quite a bit of money that has been illegally charged to me and kept by this company. I dont know how on earth they think they can do this to people and not be accountable. Im not done with this, and I will not stop until I am refunded all of my money that is owed to me. Its shameful that so many people have similar experiences. Im not done with this and I expect a response from this company to do the right thing.BidFTA

The warehouses are on strict inbound and removal schedules and do not hold anything beyond their posted removal days. Removal dates are stated on every auction as its running and also on the receipts you receive once its charged out. We do not issue refunds for items not picked up on time, This is written in the Terms that are to be agreed to in order to receive a bidder number, posted in the Terms of every auction and written on the receipt you receive when you win an item. If you have missed removal, you will not be refunded. You emailed in about missing items and were advised to pick up the remaining items on your account. You did not contact us again until after the removal days had passed. You were advised that any missing item that was reported to the staff would be either refunded if not located or you would be contacted to pick up if it has been found. There was no email about duplicate charges on your account. If you have them, please email in to ********************************** on a separate email and list the amount of the charges and the date of the charges and we can investigate it for you.Review fromJessi H

I want to love this company because I appreciate a good deal, but they sold me expired baby food and refused to refund it. Its illegal to sell expired baby food. They seem completely unconcerned when I called this to their attention. I just cant get behind them being OK with harming babies.BidFTA

You are correct- Infant food, infant formula and medicines cannot be re-sold after the expiration dates. The ******* auction lotters were unaware of that and it looks like an item slipped past them. I have submitted you for a full refund for that item and have contacted the warehouse owner to advise him of the error and to pass on the *** about those items. If you run into any issue like this again, please email in to our Support Team at ********************************** and they would have been able to assist you right away.
