Temple reported that I leased a ***** *** and *** ****** in 2/28/2021. Cost $46/$1250.99. I received a letter saying I was in default in November 2022. I have no idea how this happened unless it is identity theft. They have the wrong email, phone number and electronic signature. I have my own computer bought at **** ***. I would not need or want an expensive computer and whatever *** is. I am a senior citizen and retired. I live off my pension and SS. I have made over 5 email attempts and 2 certified letters to them with no response. My bank tried and they wouldn’t talk to them. I have filed a dispute with ********. They will have an answer in May. I want this off my credit report. It is ridiculous. Why would anyone lease a computer? You can use them free at the library if you can’t afford one. Please help me.

I have been charged multiple payments over the last 3 months and payments have been cleared and deducted from my bank account but this company is claiming I am behind on payments and that all the cleared payments are pending in my account and therefore I am unable to see the actual balance of this lease to pay off in full. I have contacted them through chat and email several times with them not updating or correcting my account. Because it says I am over 300 behind in payments it is going to affect my credit report on late payments that have been payed on time and cleared and taken from my bank account. They refuse to update my account and claim they have received hundreds in payments from me.Business Response

I do research on whynotleaseit website and they aren’t even licensed to do business in my home state of *** ****** as per their own website. This company practice strong arm and predatory tactics on unwitting consumers. We want to thank *** ***** ******* for contacting Tempoe/ WNLI regarding her lease. We understand that there is some confusion with the terms and conditions of her lease. TEMPOE,
LLC (“TEMPOE”) is constantly striving to improve upon the customer experience
and this includes explaining the program in more detail. Briefly, our program
requires lessees to lease their items for a 5 month initial lease term. Upon
completion of the initial lease term our customers have 3 options. Such
options include: (1) Purchasing the property by exercising the purchase
option; (2) continuing the lease on a periodic basis by retaining possession
of the property, in which case additional periodic payment(s) must be made in
the same frequency and amount as during their initial term; (3) terminating
the lease by returning the property to us in good condition, fair wear and
tear excepted. If the lessee does not contact TEMPOE to set up the purchase
or return of their leased items, their lease will continue on the same
schedule until they make arrangements to purchase the item or return the
item. This means that if a customer doesn’t exercise their purchase or return
options after the completion of their initial term, their lease will continue
for another payment period. After the end of that period, customer will have
the 3 options again. This process continues until a customer purchases their
leased items, returns their leased items, or reaches their maximum lease
term.
*** ********* lease with TEMPOE, LLC was opened on 1/31/2022. In accordance with the terms of her lease agreement, the periodic payments continued. At no time did *** ******* chose to exercise her early purchase options.
Therefore, in accordance with the terms of the lease agreement, the periodic payments continued. In an effort to resolve this
matter, TEMPOE has closed the lease as paid. No refunds will be issued.
