This company deserves to have their business license revoked. DO NOT USE THEM! they charged me $2,465.00 to "TRY" to clear a clogged drain and told me that it was a DPW issue and not on my property, I called DPW and they told me its not them so I called another drain company and voila... they fixed the problem in less than an hour for 1/5 of the price that Roto-Rooter charged me to Not fix the problem! Stay away from this absolutely horrible company that can't even fix a clogged drain.Roto-Rooter

Absolutely do not use them. Their predatory sales tactics are insulting. They told me my main line was collapsed and it would be $35k to fix with no other options. Im glad I got a second opinion because there were other options at much more reasonable rates.Roto-Rooter

They charge double the cost of local plumbers. For a clogged toilet that needed snaked, Roto Rooter charged $381. Compare to ********** Plumbing that charged 1 $168 for the exact same service. Price gouging at it's worst.Roto-Rooter

This company charged me $9500 for work that was not performed in January 2024. They charged me $7500 for lining the pipe and the work WAS NOT performed. They add a clean out on the road which WAS NOT necessary for $2000. My plumbing backed up in my house 2 months later. I called another company to get a second opinion. They took 3 different video footages. The video shows the pipes were not lined, water is in the belly of the line starting at 18.3 feet, and they moved the clean out over. You can see all the connections in the pipes up to 35 feet so it proves the pipe was not lined. Plus, they charged me $450 for the initial visit. They busted my irrigation line and refused to pay $160 to repair the broken line. The company SCAMMED me and took my money. BEWARE! They do not deserve one star!Roto-Rooter

1 starCalled Roto-rooter on a Saturday morning for a leaking valve behind my washing machine. Their wesite claims they have local plumbers working for them, when it appears they just serve as a nation wide referral service meaning they have no control over the local plumbers. I was giver a four hour window for the response time and told the the plubmer was "just finishing up an earlier job" and I would be next. Four hours later - no plumber. Called back and was again told he was "just finishing up an earlier job" and I would be next. Also the Roto-rooter had been unable to reach him by phone. Hour five, still no plumber. My water was shut off the whole time. Finally gave up and found a local plumber who responded in less than an hour and completed the job in 30 minutes. ******* Do NOT use this company.Review fromThomas L

2 starsHad a bit of a nasty experience, whereby my insurance didn't cover the cost of repairs to a spouted sink turned into a geyser - upstairs bathroom. A big mess; kitchen overhead fixture became a water fountain. When the Roto Rooter rep got here, they charged $250 for capping the pipe that day, which took about 15 minutes and probably wasn't necessary, since the water remained off until I could get a third party in to fix it; and got me to sign up for the full house water amelioration, mentioning $5,000-$8,000 price, GUARANTEEING that my insurance would cover it (Which they did not). S, they charged me 3X the max amount, even treated rooms which had 0 water exposure, added huge charges for things not performed; e.g., $80 to cover furniture with plastic, which remained folded upon a single cushion; claimed to sweep and clean appliances for hundreds that I did myself after they billed me. Sent a guy over to check humidity levels the day after fans installed, and almost every day for the rainy week the fans were in place. Tested asbestos (Which I told them was part of the structure - outdoor shingles), and charged hundreds of dollars for that (Tested a portion of drywall ceiling, and it came back negative. Didn't even know what he was doing). Tested the laminate vinyl flooring, pulling up only the most conspicuous possible spot - at the front door next to the stairs. Long story short, they charged me over $22,000 for less than 40 man-hours on-site, which they had guaranteed at the time of my agreeing that my insurance would cover, and when I heard back that the insurance company wouldn't cover any damages, the rep came back into my very torn up house on a Saturday for an hour to say, "If you would have just told them what I told you to say, they would have covered it." then we paid out of pocket that day. So I'm hoping they can read this and issue some partial refund, because there were some seriously wrongly communicated things in the pitch, and some improper billing.Review fromKelsey D

1 starI was getting a garbage disposal removed and a regular drain pipe installed. Wasn't given a quote like I was told I was going to get, but the job was done and my card charged for $953 dollars ($890 of that going towards LABOR) Had I been given a call and quoted before the job was started, I would've declined Roto Rooter's service, but wasn't given that chance, and got robbed instead!Review fromBRANDON H

5 starsDispatch had someone at our house in under an hour on Saturday morning when no one else could. Broken water pipe had been spraying all night so we woke up to quite the mess. David from mitigation showed up, got us squared away with our insurance company and assessed the damage so their team could come start the cleanup. Chris showed up a few minutes later and had our issue fixed in short order. Can't thank the team enough for their fast response and fantastic customer service.Review fromKeith B

1 starApril 22, 2024 Roto-rooter gave me a estimate saying it could cost up to $1300 to fix a leaking shower faucet, depending on the problem, which was a failed gasket. He said he needed to replace the shower shut off which took 45 minutes and then billed me for the full $1300! It was $420 for parts and $879 for 45 minutes of labor! The plumber gave me a speech about how it improves my home value and inflation, and their website says they are BBB accredited even though they are not. I called to ask what their hourly labor rate was and was told "we bill by the job regardless of how much time it takes" but billing $879 for less than an hour of labor when typical rates are $200/hr is absolutely insane. I will never use Roto-Rooter again even if I can negotiate a fair rate and their business practice is predatory (and I am potentially pursuing legal action at this point).
