Roto-Rooter made three attempts to remove a blockage that was causing a sewer back-up. All failed to adequately locate the blockage and stop the sewage back-up that would re-occur in less than 24 hours after each service call. The camera work was not done at any of the three service calls as promised. The techicians who were doing the repair had no images to work from so were at a disadvantage. The camera work was done after the third service call but was not conclusive since it did not locate the blockage in the J trap since they did not look there. They looked to the right (interior to house) and to the left (exterior to street) of the J-trap but not in the J-trap. They wanted an additional $600.00 over the $755.59 already paid to them to continue the work. I decided to wait since it was more than I could afford at the time. The blockage was not found so I requested a full refund or at least 50% of my expense. Roto-Rooter would not refund 1 penny and only wanted to tear out the main sewer pipes in my house and replace the J-trap that would cost thousands of dollars. I needed to think about such a large expense but on my own after their attempts I found the blockage to be in the J-trap. I used my own snake and was able to adequated remove the blockage and now have not had any back-ups for almost two months. I believe I fixed the problem without their help so should be entitled to a refund.

I'm an experience difficulty with Roto-Rooter. Greg g******* he quote me $5,500 then he quote me $10,000 then he quote me $20,000. Now he keeps changing his mind. It's the sewer system from the road to the house. I agree to the 5500 which I am going to pay. He keeps texting me and begging me for the money. I have never got a receipt. Never signed. No receipt and I heard he is a scam artist trying to take you for your money. I also heard the place is up for sale for $315,000 and he left the place a mess which I'm going to have to clean up. I would never ever hire him. Roto-Rooter used to be such a good company. The people are running it down. That's sad. Thanks for listening

Roto Rooter installed our outside drain system in 2019. We had a slow draining problem Feb /24. They came and the worker said it would probably be covered under the installation warranty. It was a simple outside snake job. They refused to cover it or even give a reasonable discount. The bill was $800 for a very simple clean out. The usual charge for this is anywhere from 200 to 350 according to local businesses.I would not recommend this company. Get another bid on any job.

Roto-Rooter''s service tech, Justice, did an excellent job. He explain each step as he diagnosed and then cleared a plugged floor drain. If I ever had a future need for such service I'd ask forJustice by name to resolve the problem.

We booked an appointment for the company to come and fix a plumbing back up. We were told that they would run a camera down the drain and give us a copy of the camera footage (which we have never received despite multiple written requests). The company came back and told us the pipes were old and needed to be basically shaved down on the inside to get rid of metal shards that were due to the pipe's age and that they would need to install a clean out drain. We paid for the original work and for them to get the plumbing back in operation. Again, we never received the camera footage that was supposed to inspect the entire line. We authorized $8,500 worth of work for the clean out and lining of the pipe. In the middle of this work, the plumber came to us and said there was a collapsed portion of the pipe that would need to be replaced. The cost was an additional $4000. My repeating question to them was why we didn't know that the pipe was collapsed in the beginning since they supposedly ran a camera through the pipe. The results: I had to pay a second insurance deductible and $4000 more for the work. Buyer beware. They don't live up to their promises and are overpriced to begin with.

Should be 0 Stars. We called Roto Rooter to unplug our main drain due to tree roots. They came, did the work and charged us $400. Seemed overpriced. The next day we were contacted that they thought maybe there was some problems with our pipes. Wanted to come out and use their cameras and there would be no charge for this service. We agreed. Came out and told us there was a lot of damage and we needed the pipe to be relined. Quoted us $14,000, Wanted us to sign a contract that very day. We did not agree. Called the City of ******* and three men came out with cameras and checked our pipes. They did not find any damage that needed to be repaired. Said it was a total scam on Roto Rooters part.

Fantastic and quick service. We had a plumbing issue on a Saturday evening and Roto Rooter was the only company we called that could actually come and take care of the issue. John was great and very helpful!

This is the worst company. They rob you!!! I had them at my house yesterday to snake a main line and they could not get in the line. No work was done and told me it would be 7000 to fix and I would have to call the town and dig up my whole front yard!!!! I had to call another company today and it was only a few hundred dollars. They charged me 702.81 for a service not done at all, they didn’t do anything but make me right a check and lie about what needed to be done!!!!

I called for a simple unclogging because it was 9 pm and I couldn't rent a machine in time to do it myself at that hour. The initial call was frustrating because they refused to even give a ballpark price over the phone. They want to get someone in your house to pressure you. I knew the clog was a tree root. I have a clay sewer lateral. This is common with clay pipes. After two plumbers came out and proceeded to bust their machines, the field supervisor came and tried to put a camera down my sewer lateral. The camera was worthless because the pipe was still backed up. All he saw was murky water. He then jumped to assuming THE WORST CASE SCENARIO telling me that my sewer line was broken and collapsed, and I would need to be responsible for digging up the street in front of my house to replace that section and then also pay to repave the street. Told me it was going to be $19,000 along with a bunch of other tactics to scare me into rushing into accepting his asinine proposal. I thought better and instead called local reputable plumber. They came out and gave a free second opinion. They did not agree with Roto Rooter's diagnosis. The city was also nice enough to run a camera down the city main and look at the blockage from their side. They confirmed they could not see any collapse or damage. Just some grease build-up. I rented a 3/4" snake and ran it down myself. The machine cleaned it out without issue. The other local plumber then came back for a proper camera inspection to confirm my sewer lateral is pristine. Just had some grease build up on some tree roots. I was fortunate enough to know better than to trust Roto-Rooter at their word. I can only imagine they pull the same stuff with people not as knowledgeable. $19,000 is a potentially financially crippling amount of money to try to rush someone into needlessly spending. Disgusting business practice and no where near ethical.
