I booked an online appointment for a toilet that was running to much, the flapper did not always close. It was not an emergency. On Friday, 16, 2024 he arrived a few hours late and changed the flapper. he supplied, I thought he said it would cost 44.00; but he charged me 440.00 ! from what I understand it was a part that cost about 15.00 and the labor was about a half hour.No other work. I told him that it was far more than I thought .... he said 44.00 and he replied that plumbing was expensive. Shocked, I gave him my credit card and he entered the number, then said it did not process. I gave him a check. He called someone and then said that the charge went through but they would reverse it. Guess what? The toilet would not flush at all. I called the next morning , and the representative said I could make an appointment; I asked if there would be a charge since the toilet did not work and she said I could negotiate with the service person, she did not know. and that I could not talk to a manager as it was Saturday. She connected me to dispatch who said they could not come until Monday. It is my only toilet. I was afraid of having to pay more and I called and cancelled. I called a local person who came and saw it was installed wrong and they fixed it for free. This must be an error in billing....$440.00? for a 15 dollar part, a 30 minute job, and a service call? I want a substantive partial refund.

Had an issue with our main sewer line last night. A tech named Gabriel from Roto Rooter showed up at 9pm. He snaked our line outside and told me there was a crushed pipe and also some PVC had come loose. Wanted to give me a price to excavate and replace part of the line. I called a local plumber we use today. Wilson Plumbing came out and put a camera in the line. They said our main line was fine and it was a backup in the townships sewer line. ******** Twp. sewer department came out and cleared the line. Everything is fine now. So basically, the Roto Rooter tech was trying to scam us and charge a hefty fee to replace, what? Also, when I asked Gariel for photos he said he couldn't do it, then later changed his story and said it would cost an additional $700 just to see the photos. It cost us $655.47 for them to spend an hour pretending to clear our main line. When I told him I couldn't pay for work not done he got hostile and pretty much threatened me in my home. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use Roto Rooter. Shout out to ****** Plumbing.

I had to have a brand new ejector & sump pump replaced. It was a very expensive task. I’ve always used Roto Rooter for all my plumbing needs because over the years they’d always did a professional repair. I’ve always referred family & friends & neighbors to this company. I’ve sent them a lot of business. However things changed on Friday, February 2, 2024. The plumber was kind & professional but didn’t run tests to show, prove to me that both my new sump pump & ejector were working properly. It wasn’t until nasty, dirty, foul smelling sewage was running over my carpeted floor. The sewage damaged my carpet & padding. Roto Rooter sent out their investigator who decided that I would need my carpet replaced. I said it was such a small area that a professional carpet cleaner would suffice. I text several pictures of sewage & filthy nasty carpet to Dan one of the managers who deal with this issue as it comes up with customers. I left him several voicemails, pictures and text messages in addition to wanting to know when Roto Rooter would send one of their carpet cleaning service guys out to clean my carpet. This task maybe would have to take 20 minutes. This Dan individual has YET to respond to my text messages, voicemail or pictures. He has totally ignored me & all communication regarding my carpet that was clean before Roto Rooter entered my home & it became dirty. I can’t help but to wonder if this man is racist & not even having the common courtesy & respect of acknowledging my communication. Or if he’s simply an arrogant man who displays an attitude of disrespect to a customer who spent thousands of dollars on Roto Rooter’s equipment.

Business is not accredited caused damage to property and lies about repairing damage. Douglas J*****, referred Brian D******* from ****** to replace tracks for sliding mirror doors that were unnecessarily removed on 12/26/23 nothing has happened. I’m continually told parts are ordered there is no ETA per Brian from his Director of Operations. Roto-Rooter has put a lien on my house because I refuse to pay bill until tracks are replaced. How can a company do this? What about little old me what could I threaten them with. Very unprofessional. ****** ********

I booked an appointment online the day before. My appointment was for 8am to 10am arrival. They called to say plumber would be late. I talked to the plumber at 11:30am and he was still at lease 45 minutes away. I was late to work as a result and still didn't get my service done that I had scheduled because I couldn't wait any longer. Very bad communication and unreliable.

Called and they were able to send Jason within 90min while competitors couldn't. Jason completed the job thoroughly and great to work with. Pricey but worth it rather than waiting around with a back up drain. Thanks!

***** came out to provide camera work after a drain unclogged and found the issue with a shifted drainpipe. Not exactly thrilled with needing additional expensive work done but he clearly and transparently explained the issue and got setup with a plan. thanks

I had a very small job, to replace fill valve in toilet. Job was completed in about 10 minutes or so and I was presented a bill for $406.98. I have paid the bill, but feel the cost was outrageously high considering how small the job was. I will surely never this company and would never recommend that anyone use their services.

My husband and I noticed a small leak that started underneath our toilet; this issue was made significantly worse by our original plumber- ******** Plumbing- whom caused our entire bathroom to flood.Roto Rooter came out promptly and got right to work! However, during the process of snaking our drain, our personal items were destroyed. Roto Rooter did credit us $500, which we are appreciative of, but we wish they could have shown more care to our personal property- especially since reconstruction just wrapped up on our home and we were left with our newly renovated white bathroom covered in ***** We will likely still be cleaning our bathroom due to this for several weeks.Roto Rooters blade got stuck in our sewer line, so we had little choice but to use them for excavation. It cost $11,050 to remove the blockages. Our front yard is small- meaning our sewer line isn't very long- yet the cost was astronomical! Approximately 11 feet of sewer pipe was replaced during this job. They agreed to remove the blockages. However, we were able to see another blockage on camera, that they neglected to take care of once the initial problem was fixed. The tech even pointed it out to me, but rather than clearing it out, they just said to limit our toilet paper usage. This will likely pose an issue for us in the future and we are angry that Roto Rooter did not complete the job as agreed upon.If you are able to find a different company, I highly urge you to as our experience with Roto Rooter was needlessly expensive. Plus, they did not complete the job.For $11,050, I would expect more professionalism and care. At the end of the day, our bathroom was destroyed and our sewer line left with an additional blockage that they should have removed.
