      Avoid doing business with Roto-Rooter Excavation
      After they unclog a sewer line, they send a complementary technician to look at your line with a camera. Camera footage may be deceiving if you are not used to looking at sewer lines. The technician helps interpret what you are seeing and may make you think it is worse than it really is. They can claim that they did not mislead you since you were looking at the camera picture.
      We scheduled a pipe burst for our long sewer line at $54,000. The Central San Inspector inspected the preliminary work. He looked at the camera and then knocked on my door to tell me there was nothing wrong with my pipe that would require a pipe burst. He diagnosed the fix to replace a pipe section in one area and add a clean-out. The cost of that job is ~$10,000, which was never suggested as an alternative to pipe-bursting by Roto-Rooter.
      When the Central San Inspector told me this, he gathered all the other crew members around to agree that there was nothing wrong with our pipes. The Roto-Rooter crew stood around looking sheepish and I felt taken advantage of. They looked like a bunch of kids who got caught in a lie. The Roto-Rooter field supervisor took off before the Central San Inspector talked to us. Before he left, he told the Central San Inspector, “They know that there is nothing wrong with their pipes”. Well, most people would not pay $54,000 to fix pipes that have nothing wrong with them.
      I got a second estimate from Roto-Rooter for $25,000 for the new work to replace the $54,000 estimate. During that time, I got another estimate from a more reputable company for $8,000 to finish the work which is less than $25,000. We decided to go with the other company, so Roto-Rooter is now charging us $9, 593.92 for their presence while the Central San Inspector diagnosed our problem. But even paying the $9,593.92 and going with the other company, the cost is less than continuing with Roto-Rooter.

      Anyone have issues with Roto-Rooter PIttsburgh for excessive charges? Had our garbage disposal replaced which could be purchased for $100-$110. Charged $248.37.for the disposal. Never informed us of what the total bill would be until job completed. Questioned him abut charges.Total bill came to $789.37 Called Central office. Told they could do nothing about the charge Peter K****** forgot to discount $75 from our bill. In addition, we got a call at 10:30am that said the tech person could be at house shortly not from original time between 12-4pm. We agreed and he was on his way. Would be there shortly. Called at 12 noon. still not at our house. Arrived at 12:15pm. Please do not use Roto-Rooter Pgh. Perhaps in other areas that they have their offices such as Wexford,PA. they would be more honest and professional!!!!

      Horrible experience with the payment process. After disputing the charges, they reduced the total. However, the associate reaching out for payment, Jocelyn, we are having to pay the higher price to avoid this moving to collections. The team working with estimates/payments have been rude and unresponsive. While the quality of work was acceptable, the process to complete an agreed-upon payment has been very unfortunate. The integrity of Roto-Rooter is questionable following this experience.

      Company WAY overcharged my wife while I was out of town to clean out a pipe, almost a thousand dollars, so about triple what anyone else charges. Promised someone would be out a few days later to camera the line to figure out the problem & never called or will return calls. Had to bring someone back out to fix everything when I got back into town & to do their job plus dig up & repair the pipe the ACTUAL local plumber charged less than this company plus they actually did the job

      Roto Rooter did a great job unclogging my stubborn kitchen drain. Adam was so professional and knowledgeable; He was personable and efficient. He cleaned out the drain in no time; and offered great tips on keeping everything running smoothly. I love their 6 month warranty on the services performed. I highly recommend Roto Rooter

      After the 12/22 -12/27/2022 storm and cold weather, my bathroom and kitchen faucets froze and gave no running water. There was frozen water in the crawlspace so I called on 12/24/22 to have Roto-Rooter come to get the water out of the crawlspace. They scheduled 12/26 to come fix the issue. Other customers before me had burst pipes so they rescheduled for 12/27 to come. On the 27th they replaced two valves and said someone from restoration would call me to have the sump pump looked at and drain the water. They charged me $1533 to replace two values and said it covers Labor and replacement, and it does not include pumping out the water out - the initial reason why I called. The pumping out water would be a separate fee. They gave two valves that in the store would cost $20 each. This is criminal. I do not recommend at all.

      Where to start on this? The team they sent are rock stars! They went above and beyond. I had a mess I didn't understand, but they diagnosed and had it taken care of the very next day. Speaking as a single mom, having a part of your home ripped apart can be upsetting and scary to say the least, however these guys eliminated a nasty situation and were very caring in doing so. To say they are "hardworking and efficient" doesn't even scratch the surface. They kept me informed every step of the way, were respectful, moved all my stuff (and I have a lot, sorry guys) with care and left NOTHING to be cleaned up. On top of that there were managers stopping by and calling to check in, every time saying, "If you have any questions or need anything, call any time day or night".
      I am impressed and very much appreciate them and the job they do. The hazards and yuck they have to deal with is something I'd never want to do so mad respect to them. I will not hesitate to call them the next time I have an issue, though I hope it's no time soon (no offense lol). Much customer love to Eric, Anthony, Quinten, Van, Mike and Ant. ??

      I attempted to have these guys fix a clogged sink- first SONNY hung up on me- then someone else called me back after I left a review and I gave them the benefit of the doubt as he said they were having trouble with their phones ( this was the week of Dec 21). So they said they could come out the Thursday before Christmas weather permitting- they called and said they could not make it due to the snow but they would get back to me when they could- Tuesday the 27th no response so I called them back. They gave me the EXACT times of after 12:00 that day or 9:00 the next ( today Weds the 28). Here it is 10:00 no call no show! I called them got Sonny AGAIN and he informs me that time was not set and was extremely rude. Hung up on me again!!! DO NOT CALL THESE PPL! I'm adding reviews her, with the BBB and everywhere I can. Word of mouth goes a long way!!! As does social media!!!

      They charged my elderly parents 4 days work/rental but only worked 2. They won't even fix the bill after they admitted fault. I have to battle the bill through insurance only. They tried to strongarm my 91 y/o for $50K for what should have been $2-3K. Then even told him to just borrow the money when he stated he didn't have it.
