Spent $2200 on a new hot water heater that was installed. 7 days later we still do not have working hot water heater. 3 technicians have come out, none of them had any idea of any backstory or reviewed the ticket at all. Starting over from ground zero every time someone new showed up. When I called in all they did was argue with me about how many technicians had showed up. They stated they only showed one visit. Can tell there is zero internal communication in this organization. I Am constantly having to call in to make sure they do what they say they are going to do. Obviously trying to get out of making good on the warranty of the asset they installed and are instead just dodging all responsibility.

Contacted Roto-Rooter about a water leak coming from the ceiling close to a fire sprinkler. After having a fire sprinkler repair company, open up the ceiling to find the source, they determined that the leak was not from their sprinkler system but a domestic water line.
I proceed to contact different agencies for repairs, it was over the weekend (Sat.) and most would return contact on the next business day (Mon.). I scheduled for Roto-Rooter to come to the propery on Sunday. The agent performed the work without an estimate nor did they receive permission to do the work. I was charged $1120.00 to solder (2) 90 elbows and (1) 1/2 inch copper pipe. The agent didn't need to have to open the ceiling nor walls, so no additional work was needed. When I contacted Roto-Rooter for an explanation/justification of the charges, the agent would not provide the exact work that was completed in order to charge an astronomical amount.
I've attempted to multiple times to get answers, but they continue to rely on the agent's invoice which just states that parts were $50 and labor was $1070.
All I'm asking for is an explanation.

      Disaster of a company.
Called for an emergency and keep pushing me off and promising me that they will update me. Every time I call back because they don't keep their word and they have another excuse every time.
      Zero customer service.

We had water backing up and coming out of our basement kitchenette drain in the floor, they came out charged 7,800 dollars to excavate and fix the line in the floor by the drain that they said was damaged and causing our current problem.
I said the amount was high but they kept saying they are a big company that guarantees it’s work and this is the problem
They did mention that a small section of the line from the house to the street also had some bellying or settling and would need replacement “maybe in 5 years or later “ . They said it would be about 20 or 25k so we opted to wait and fix our current problem.
After they fixed the indoor pipe for 7,800 (which later turned out to be 5 feet long) we had to hire someone to replace the tile too.
When nothing changed , water stil coming out of the same area they started saying it needed jetting every few months (for 600 dollars) and argued they fixed what they were supposed to fix and that was the only problem in the house so anything now is due to outside plumbing and not their problem. We recently had the entire outside line dug up and replaced but water is still backing up in the same places in the basement !!
We had a new company come out and it turns out Roto rooter missed a big leak in the wall right next to where they excavated causing whole problem .
There is black mold in the wall there now too !
The last time I called the manager still argued it is an outdoor line problem and that of course if the outside doesn’t drain then it will back up inside.
I had them come out while the new company had the wall open and showed them where the problem was, tgey called manager Dan who said he needed to talk to his bosses then said they would come out and fix the pipe leak ( my real problem) just out of sympathy and not charge the now 8,000 dollars it should cost. He got nasty when I told him this is not “sympathy “ and that they never fixed the problem, his response was but they fixed something .

Their contract says they guarantee their work for 5 years , problem is they did work not needed and not a problem like they said they fixed something even if its not what was needed. They should refund my money considering I had another company fix the problem they couldnt even identify.

Had the main drain in our basement backup in the evening of thanksgiving eve. With limited options since it’s after hours and also because we are hosting thanksgiving, we go with roto rooter since they could arrive the fastest. The technician came out to snake the main drain. Next thing I know another guy shows up and gives me an estimate of $1200 to clean up the area where the drain backed up. He then tells me that I could clean it myself with ****** and water. What kind of ****** do they use for $1200. Another gentleman shows up to run a camera through the drain to check the condition of the pipe. He then tells me that the pipe is angling up in one area and that is where some stuff is collecting and causing the drain to backup. He also stated that the pipe was angling in another section. He quotes us $14000 to $16000 to repair it. I decided to pay for a second opinion after they already tried ripping me off on the clean up and figured that would be cheaper than having the repairs done, what do I have to lose. The gentleman from a different plumbing company comes out, runs his camera while letting me watch. I find out everything that they told me was a lie. The pipes were straight with normal wear and tear and no concerns. How do these clowns sleep at night?

I stopped the payment on the check! They sent a technician over who charged me over $300 to snake the main sewer line and for a camera inspection. The technician did not have a camera, and he only partially cleared the main; claiming that his cable hit something and he didn't want to risk snapping it in the sewer main. Technician said he scheduled a camera technician for the following morning and he advised me not to put anything down the drain. Well, for over a week I called for a camera technician that I "paid for" who never showed. After two weeks of no-shows and a run around, fortunately I was able to cancel the check! I also called and left a message for the manager who never called me back! The next phone call I received was someone trying to collect money for the service that was not even close to 30% performance. I will be calling the manager back to inform them to void the invoice and not bother to collect payment on a service that was never performed. I would leave a zero-star review if I could.

The main issue I have is that they put my family's life at risk with their negligence.
I had a main line sewage repair on 11/28/22 - that seemed to go well, although the guy was over 4 hours late with no call or explanation. On 11/30/22, the water restoration team finally came to my house to clean up sewage that had backed up into my crawlspace. Again - they were very late. I don't even know what time they started because I couldn't meet them since I had to leave for work. I never did get any call to say they had started or finished the job, but when I returned home that evening, I had a large fan hooked up to my crawlspace to presumably dry it out. All seemed to have gone well that day.
On the morning of 12/1/22, I woke up at 4am to a house full of smoke/fog/haze and a very strong engine exhaust type smell. I had symptoms of drowsiness, headaches, and nausea immediately. I woke up my 38 week pregnant wife and 18 month old daughter, and we opened windows and turned on fans to try to get the smoke out. My wife ended up going to the emergency room (thankfully she and the unborn baby were fine), and my daughter and I have had a cough ever since. When I found the smoke, I immediately started trying to get in touch with Roto Rooter to see if someone could come fix the problem. Long story short, I got the run around for nearly 48 hours before I could finally speak to a manager. Over the course of the following 2 weeks, the manager would take several days to respond to calls, stated that he was working on trying to figure out what happened. In my last conversation with him 12/12/22, his final answer was just that they didn't know what happened and that was the end of it. They didn't charge me for what they did, but since then, I've inspected the crawlspace, and it's extremely poor quality work that was half done anyway. I could type much more, but I'm out of space. Bottom line - I will NEVER use them for another job, and I will tell everyone I know about this experience.

We had an emergency due to a city sewer main backup. The Roto-Rooter drain tech came out and immediately diagnosed the problem. It was a city main sewer backup. He called the city and within five minutes, a city water department worker came out and realized that the where the blockage was and arranged to have the city sewer flushed. The Roto-Rooter tech stayed at the house until the issue was resolved and the house drains were working properly. He then contacted the water restoration team at Roto-Rooter. The water restoration rep came out and assessed the situation. He arranged for a clean up team to come out the next day. He also got on the phone with me when I called my insurance company. He fully explained to them what happened and what needed to be done. The cleanup team came out the next day and began the cleanup and demo of the damaged areas. Everything was handled so smoothly I could not believe it. They answered all my questions and kept me fully aware of what was going on and what needed to be done. From the initial drain tech’s diagnosis to the admin staff at their office, everyone was excellent. The entire Roto-Rooter team was great. I highly recommend this Plymouth, MN office of Roto-Rooter for any work of this type.
