      Called them as smaller companies were not available for another three days they told me they would show up between 12-3 they called at 3 told be their tech was behind and will show up at 4 then at 4 I got a call telling me that their tech is stuck at a job and leaves at 6 and will not be showing up! Mind you I called them at 8am that day! Crying on the phone saying I can’t run any water and have kids 6 years old and was promised this would be taken care of today I was then told they will send someone else out no later then 6! Got a call at 9pm that he was on his way and quoted 600.00 for a snake and was told that our main pipe is most likely broken and that would be a big repair (thousands of dollars) Now here I am freaking out and wondering how the heck did he come up with this without even coming out! At this time I had already paid for a hotel room and was not around and agreed to them coming out the next morning! They did call me and I did not answer my husband and I decided at that point we were going to rent a snake and do it ourselves! 100.00 later for a rented snake from Home Depot and the problem was fixed! Awful experience and after reading everyone else’s reviews how the hell do they have a 5 star from BBB? Do not use them!

      Had a backed up drain plumber snaked line charged $ 585.00 had second plumber to camera line was included to verify line was clear and to check for possible damage first plumber didn’t wait for camera confident it was clear second plumber found it was infact still blocked and needed further attention I called the company they sent a third plumber which informed me there would be a charge for service because there is no warranty I told him I was never informed of that nowhere in my paperwork do it say that the work was not completed and the first plumber just left less then 2 hrs ago I have no facilities and he’s trying to charge me for a service that should have been free of charge

      Was charged over $600 for maybe two hours work on a water heater, which included going for the parts. Quoted $4000 for a new one.??????I will never give them my business again nor ever recommend them. Their website site for reviewing would not take my information.

      I wish I had read these reviews before I called these shysters last weekend when my 20 yr old son, called to say sewage had backed up into the basement and was coming up thru the shower drain and out of the toilet, which overflowed raw sewage into the bathroom floor and out into the carpeted area outside the bathroom. He cleaned it all up once but then it reoccurred. We have never had plumbing problems before in this bathroom so it was puzzling. I called a lot of plumbers but it was a Saturday and most were closed but two of them wanted either $200 or $300 to come out for a service call at noon. So it's not like I was asking someone to come out late in the night. I was not going to pay that service fee and the repair costs, so I kept searching until I found Roto Rooter and they said they could send someone out within the hour from ********, ** and there would be NO service fee. I knew right then I was about to be "hit over the head", but I did not know I was about to be run over by a train as well. The technician took advantage of my 20 yr old son, charging him $965 to put a camera in the sewer and remove the blockage he could see, after my son told him we could not pay over $1000. He claimed the sewer pipe was 9 ft down and they charged according to depth of the pipe. (Three other plumbers have come since then and measured the sewer pipe to be only 5 ft deep.) He claims the camera showed a break in the pipe and that he could repair it for $11,386. Oh, and he would subtract the $965 paid already for his 30 mins of work while there, and that would bring the price down to $10,421 to repair the pipe. I called the city and got the contractors they use for water and sewer. The repair from all 3 contractors they sent ranged from $2500 to $2800. So no this is not buyers remorse. This is I was hood winked, bamboozled, robbed and my 20 yr old son taken advantage of! Dnt call these dishonest fools for any reason! They will be out of business soon with this kind of behavior.

      Just why isn't there a "MINUS 1"? Actually, a "MINUS 10" is more accurate for rating Roto Rooter.RR came out a few days ago and "went through the motions". After their initial visit costing $224, I had to call them back after I flushed the toilet the * I R S T time. They came right back out and charged $75 telling me that I had used too much toilet paper.I then called a reputable plumber who detected the blockage and has scheduled a "camera" that can determine the exact location and size of the obstruction. THEN the problem can be fixed.Calling Roto Rooter was a total waste (pun intended).

      Quoted us $600 to fix a leak from my shower. Was unable to find leak and still charged me $600. The plumber seemed uneducated either that just didn't want to perform the service. For some reason he took my toilet apart and snaked it when that wasn't the issue. Seems like he just did something to get paid.

      I called RotoRooter to come and fix a clogged drain. When the technician came he went down into my basement with a snake to go into the drain, to see what the problem was. In the middle of his findings he advised me that he needed to call a friend of his that have a camera he also advised me that this will not be of any expense to me. "I will pay"... When his friend came he saw that there was a piece of the snake broken into my drainage. The only persons that have ever worked on my drainage issue was RotoRooter. The technician knew he had broken off a piece of his snake into my drain this is the reason why he said to me I need to call my friend and this will be no cost to you I will pay. His friend had taken pictures and kept them. Once his friend was done I was told that it will cost me $5800 to fix. I then called Regional water Authority who sent out Mr. Rooter(the company Regional water authority use)when they came out the tech used their camera and found that RotoRooter had broken off a piece of their snake into my drain. I was then advised by Mr. Rooter to contact RotoRooter to let them know that their technician had broken off a piece of their snake into my drain. When I called the female answered and rudely said am I sure I didn't have a backyard so call plumber try to fix my issue. I stated to her that the only person that I have ever called was RotoRooter she then stated that she will have her boss call me tomorrow, which he never called me. She then stated that I will have to pay and get the water company to fix it. I contacted regional water authority who stated that this is the negligence of RotoRooter and they should be the one held accountable. I am asking for BBB help so that I can get this resolved and hopefully this will not happen to someone else

      We contacted Roto-Rooter because our washing machine was causing water to backup into a wall. We shared we had just bought a house and believed the problem was the washing machine pipe had a 2 inch output whereas the wall drain was 1.5 inch. They sent a "drain technician" to the house who said he didn't think that was the problem and said the line just needed to be cleaned. He snaked the line and sold us a cleaning solution. Total cost was over $500. Right away, as soon as we did a load of laundry, the same thing happened. The pipe does drain water - it always drained water - but cannot handle the output of the washing machine. We contacted Roto-Rooter to convey the situation. They said the line cleaning was warrantied for 6 months and they would send a technician to clean it again. After some back and forth, they agreed that a dirty line was likely not the problem and said they would send an actual plumber who would be qualified to fix the problem. I was not aware the first employee was not qualified to do plumbing work and, since we conveyed what we thought was wrong from the onset, I'm not sure why an unqualified technician was ever sent. The problem is Roto-Rooter completed unnecessary work. While they will now send an actual plumber, they said the repair will be completely separate and we will have to pay again. I asked if they would apply the funds from the unnecessary work and they said no--since there is no way to prove there wasn't some level of clog as well. We will be using another company for the repair as we obviously have no confidence in Roto-Rooter, and there is no reason to use them since they will treat it as a completely different charge.We are now in the same situation we were in at the start--except we are over $500 in the hole. Save yourself from our mistake, call someone else.

      Called our local Roto-rooter to clear our French drains and was told a technician was available and that they would be right out to give us an estimate. 2 1/2 hours later two representatives showed up and my husband met them and proceeded to show them the layout of our drains. He was dismissed midway and told that it didnt matter and that it would be $1500.00. He said that they hadnt been shown the full picture but to that the man replied that it would still be no less that $1500.00. My husband paid them for a service call and called someone else. They came out, cleared our drains and charged us $350.00.Roto-rooters technicians were very unprofessional and simply rude. And on another note, their receptionist was deceptive. We will never call them again.

      Where to even begin. If I could give Roto-Rooter negative stars I would. Unfortunately, there are serious issues with dishonesty, overcharging and fraud at the location: ******************************************************************* and the corporate contact, ********************* has yet to return a single email or phone call regarding the issue. All together a horrible company. DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR ANYTHING.

      We have been emailing/calling the,customer satisfaction manager for almost 2 months and she has yet to return a single email or phone call. I am definitely not satisfied!!
