Made an appointment for leaking pipes had to wait 2 days for someone to be able to come out. Called to verify, was informed they had tried to call me to cancel said appointment, Never received call, pipes still leaking sub-floor, will now have to be replaced. Would not EVER recommend using this company to anyone and will be posting this anywhere I can.

Roto-Rooter lied to me about what they found, lied about what work they did, lied about what was needed to be done to fix the problem, lied about what equipment they had to do the work. They overcharged me by 200-300% (according to other plumbing companies).Do NOT ever use Roto-Rooter and warn your friends and family to never use them either. I was ripped off for over $11,000.00!!

Installed water heater w/o permit. Did not wrap pipes; did not install expansion tank; broke my burglar alarm system; broke ceiling light fixture; charged $3,000.00. Other plumbers said job would be $1,500.00 at most. City inspector has called owner to tell him to get permit. I have checked with city every few days and owner has not gotten permit. This has gone on for more than seven weeks. I cannot understand why this is not resolved.

If I could give zero stars I would... Sadly, by reading other people's reviews it looks like this company is a repeat offender.Stay away unless you want to pay to basically be taken for a ride...We called to get our sewage drain cleaned (as every homeowner is advised to do every couple of years) and upon showing up the first thing that the tech did was to say that our line was ballooning and it was collapsing and that he was going to call "his manager". After quite pressing sales tactics we were presented with a 10k estimate to place clean-outs in our line, saying that otherwise, we would have had a sewage backup in no time...When asked why it was so expensive of an estimate, after a quick ****** search we were able to see that the average cost in ****** for such a procedure is $3K, we were told that they are the best with the best warranty.. and service. That is 70% more than the average cost...Additionally, we were charged $449 for the cleaning that was supposed to have happened.Fast forward 4 days and we had two other companies come over and give us an assessment and additional opinion of what needed to be done and of what the cost would be and guess what? They both said that they were shocked that we had the line cleaned that same week, as they saw no proof of such cleaning on the line. Additionally, they said that the line was not ballooning or collapsing but that simply there were some roots obstructing the bottom of the line hence that is why there was a bit of standing water. So not only Roto Rooter tried to scam us out of an absurd amount of money but they also charged us for a service not rendered. We will be installing cleanouts (for $3k, which is the right amount for a job of this kind and with an exactly equal warranty), as it does make sense for a line as long as ours, but definitely not with this company. Attached you can find a picture of our line taken by one of the other companies showing that our line wasn't even touched by Roto Rooter.I hav

I wish I would have checked these reviews before we called Roto-Rooter. But of course it was the weekend end and an emergency.Whatever you do, do not have Roto-Rooter come out any do any service for you. They overcharge and do incomplete service. The technician did not have a consistent price list. He kept changing the price around. The tech did not show up when he said he would. Our village said they overcharged us for the service and when we contacted them they were very rude and said "oh well, there is nothing else we can do".Beware!!!! Do not use them

I had a blockage in my main line, so I called Roto-Rooter to send a camera tech out to do a camera inspection, which I specifically asked for. Instead they sent a guy to snake my line (a service I didn't ask for) and he performed the snake and came to the obvious conclusion that it was blocked by something. So then I called RR's main number to schedule the camera person to come out, and after numerous calls and no shows for days, someone finally came out with the camera. When he came, he didn't have the proper tools to get the capping off the main line to run the camera. I told him to leave, and called another company (**** CF) to come out, and they were fantastic. The other company found the problem immediately. My take...DO NOT USE ROTO ROOTER. The communication between dispatch and the field workers is atrocious.

We had a leak from our heat-pump on the 2nd floor and it leaked through the ceiling of the 1st floor. After calling for a technician, a Field Supervisor showed up at our house. We discussed the issue, negotiated the cost of plumbing services; but NO mention of actual costs for any of the other services they would be doing. We weren’t consulted if we agreed to whatever services were completed, a crew just showed up the next day and started working. Again, no discussion of cost at any point. They cut an obnoxiously oversized whole in our ceiling and damaged the wall and another part of our ceiling during their work. Then we find out that they calculate their services to be around $5000???? Extremely upset and disgusted in these seemingly shady business tactics. Was told that they wanted to make sure the moisture level was at or below 16%, before removing their drying equipment, they never mentioned if that is the industry standard or not, but it seemed like it was just being used in order to leave the equipment in the home for another day, just adding cost to our bill. The plumber who arrived on the first call didn’t have the equipment necessary to complete the job, the second plumber only tested one of the two drain pipes for our system. I had another technician ask me to sign something that would should him being present at the home, without anyone else being there or able to let him in to perform any services….seriously? You want me to sign saying you can just say your here and not even be inside the house to take moisture readings?
Would very much like to be in contact with the company, not at the local office level, but much higher in the company; this whole process has been absolutely absurd and will be resolved

I try to avoid chain companies as more times than not I had no good experience with them. I worked with Roto rooter in the past even though their prices are at the higher end. This time I tried calling them for a leaking toilet knowing it needed a reseat of the toilet (replacing the wax ring). Initially I was told that they will charge $99 for the diagnosis then any charges after that. The plumber came in looked at the issue and told me what I already know additionally he wanted me to replace the flooring so he can basically put a new flange, wax ring and put a new toilet. wait then he writes me an invoice for $407.00 stating "diagnosis and discuss with customer". He NEVER allowed me to ask a question keep interrupting my question about the process and his main aim was to get the signature on the invoice which I stupidly did. So basically I have paid $407.00 for no work done purely for this guy to tell me I need to change the flooring before he can do any thing i.e.: fixing the actual leak. Frustrated and neglected by this roto rooter person I called a local plumber he came in and just replaced the wax and put a new flange- mind you he did not think I needed a new floor!!! and fixed under $500.00 What a rip off by Roto rooter I will be disputing the charge. Stay away from these guys bunch of thieves!!!!

I placed a service call to unclog the bathroom pipe. First technician named Max came in and informed me that the pipe is clogged and he needs to open the toilet to fix it. After trying to open the toilet for 30 minutes he informed me that he does not have the right tools and skills to open the toilet and a more experienced technician will come to fix it. 2nd technician named John came and informed me there was no need to open the toilet and Max should have fixed it through the tub drain. I asked for lower fee as now the work is less and no need for toilet disassembly but he said that I have already signed the paperwork and no I have to pay for $550 just to put a rod in the pipe. I agreed as I did not have a choice and I needed the bathroom to be fixed. John informed me that everything is good and I paid the service fee. Next day I noticed the water drips from the roof. John again came in and cut the rood in couple of places and informed me that the toilet is leaking. John said that he needs his manager approval to perform the repair free of charge and I need to call them on Monday. On Monday I called again and explained the situation and I was told that the work is covered under the previous contract and the technician should not charge any money. Technician came after 2 hours and started asking for $520 to fix the leak. After several calls to the customer support and the corporate, they refused to fix the leakage unless I pay $450. This is simple fraud. You come to somebody house, cause a leakage, and refuse to repair it. I am left with water damage, roof damage, and now I am working another company to fix the leakage that was cause by unskilled technician. Worst company to work with. Don't recommend anybody to use it.

This is for the ** ********, ** dispatch location. First of all, the woman on the line when I set up the appointment said she is not given any prices, even on simple issues, so she could not even give a range. They don't send out plumbers, but technicians, so you may have someone come out soon, but you may have to end up having to make a second appointment just to see a real plumber to fix your problem. So the technician showed up. ( We had to ask them to wear a mask and shoe/boot coverings -which was not volunteered by him-surprising at this tail end of the pandemic.). He was going to charge me $400 for the same service by him, a technician, when it only cost us $340 when 2 actual plumbers showed up from a different company last time for the same problem, just a different (but same type of) drain. Then they want you to sign a waiver stating that Roto-Rooter is not responsible for any personal injury or property damage due to the service call. There were even more topics listed that they do not want to be held responsible for, but personal injury was the very first one listed. We have been using plumbers from a couple companies for the last decade or more, and have never had anyone of them ask us to sign a waiver. Note: further down on their waiver, it stated that only "gross negligence" would be considered their responsibility.
