I went to the Tire Discounters on Kenwood rd. for an alignment about 3 weeks ago. Following my alignment I noticed a cracked windshield directly in front of the driver’s side.

After immediately informing the manager and then 3 weeks of calling the location, I finally received a phone call from a different manager (The original one left the location so I’m told.)

The manager refused responsibility for the problem as the technician denied any claim to have caused the damage. Of course I didn’t take photos of the windshield prior to taking it in so I have little proof that they cracked it. All in all he referred me to their customer service at a corporate level which I’ll be exploring but I would bet they’ll give me the same answer this manager did. They should be held accountable for the damage. I went in for a service and left with a more expensive problem, caused by them.

The regional manager has talked with the customer.  Due to the fact that the car left Tire Discounters
property and the store was not made aware of any issue by customer until having
left TD property for a period of time, the claim has been denied based on
timing and no sign of anything impacting the windshield.  After the claim was denied, the customer then stated
that his fuel economy has gone down and we were beating on his car during a test
drive. However, the vehicle was never taken on a test drive. RM explained to the
customer that no test drive was taken. Tire Discounters considers this matter
      closed.

They destroyed 2 of my take off tires (after being told I wanted them) because they only had 10,000 miles on them they were ********** train-terrain 20" tires $250 each. I had them put the tires in the covered bed. When I noticed the damage 7 days later and asked if they would accept responsibility the Regional Manager told the local manager to tell me I couldn't prove they did the damage. They treated me like this after having 3 sets of ******** ($1300-$1400) on 3 vehicles in less than 2 years.

I got my oil changed pretty recently, and my husband noticed when I got home my heat shield was hanging down. I have a new **** ***** *** so it wasn’t like this previously. He pushed it back up where it was supposed to be not knowing screws were missing (we know nothing about cars). So I was driving one day and a raccoon was in the road, I positioned my car so it would go under the center of my car. Well my heat shield was hanging down and it hit the raccoon. completely mangled my heat shield, cracked the plastic around my heat shield. All because tire discounters forgot to put 2 bolts in the front of my heat shield. I bought new bolts out of pocket and my husband bent the heat shield back kind of. But it still isn’t right, I’d like a refund for the service and compensated for a new heat shield.

I took my car to Tire Discounters for a diagnostic appointment. My brakes were acting weird and I wanted them to see if there was anything wrong with them. The service manager didn’t seem confident in what the issue was & suggested the rotors being a potential issue. I brought up and questioned the master cylinder and he said that was a good point because my car was seeing early symptoms. He didn’t suggest that they could do the service so I thanked him and said that I would take it to a mechanics shop. When the worker brought out my car, he got out of it and I got in my car. I instantly noticed that my drivers side front window was cracked in two places. I immediately hopped out of my car called to the Bay Area for one of the mechanics because my window was cracked. Two mechanics came up to my car and the first one said “oh I’m sure they’ll take care of it” and the other mechanic said that it was my fault. The service manager came outside and taped my windows and said that he would contact the GM. He gave me his card and the GMs card. Next day, I called the GM around 9:40am and he hadn’t heard what had happened. I told him the story, sent him the photos (before and after they taped my windows) and he said he would get back to me after he spoke with the mechanic, service manager and looked at the video footage. The next day he called me and said that their claims department will not cover the damages and that I would have to cover the damages. I disagreed because my car was fine before I turned it over to them and the window broke during their possession. I asked to talk to the his supervisor and he said that that he would have his supervisor call me. His supervisor contacted me and I had told him what had happened. He said that they’re not going to cover my broken window. I asked to see the video footage and he said no. He said he believes the clip that holds my window inside my car door is what caused my window to break and that it’s not their fault, it’s my fault

      Good morning!
We've found ourselves in an upsetting situation involving the ****** location of Tire Discounters (**** ******* ******). We recently sold our travel trailer, and the new owner called us with his discovery that the tires we replaced in 2020 are NOT travel trailer grade. They are passenger grade. We were quite frankly horrified and immediately called Tire Discounters, the business that sold us these tires and installed them for us in 2020. We admittedly are not car people and trusted their tire recommendation without doing our own research. We requested a full refund ($410) or replacement tires that were travel trailer grade, and they denied both requests since two years had passed. We do believe an exception should be granted considering their responsibility in this matter and the severity of it: it's incredibly dangerous to take a travel trailer on the road with passenger tires, and we're pretty shaken by the fact that we were doing this for years without that knowledge. We appreciate any help the BBB can lend in this matter.
      Thank you,

I finally received a call from Tire Discounters on Tuesday, 10/25. We discussed the issue, and I was told that the associate, Brandon S******, was escalating it to a superior. That was on 10/25/22 (8 days ago), and I haven't heard from them again. I tried calling Brandon again (10/31) and left a message for him to call me back. I've also emailed Frank G********* twice now (the second time just this morning, so I understand if he hasn't seen that yet) with no response.

I do want to note that when Brandon initially called me on 10/25, the number showed up as "anonymous," so I wonder if my spam filter is blocking calls. If we could reach a resolution via email, this seems like the best method of communication to avoid any confusion.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/03/2022

      Our apologies again in
response to your concern. As we have previously discussed, the tires that you
purchased 3 years ago carried the weight of the trailer and weight that was
higher. In the 3 years of having the tires, there were no issues that arose. We
understand that you have sold the trailer and those tires have been replaced
already. As we have discussed, Tire Discounters would have been willing to
issue you a credit on a new tire purchase with tires of a heavier weight
carrying capability if that was the concern, but as you previously have
mentioned you no longer own the trailer and have since sold it. We are willing
to work with you on a future tire purchase by providing a higher-than-average
discount, but based on the 3-year time frame, there having been no issues, and you
no longer even owning the trailer, there is no further compensation that will
be made by Tire Discounters. We truly understand your concern based on the
communication you received from the new trailer owner, however, the tires that
were installed were above weight carrying capability for that trailer. While we
understand your concern and appreciate you reaching out, there is no further
action to be taken by Tire Discounters based on the facts presented and that there
has been no issue with the tires or trailer.  Tire Discounters considers this matter closed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below:

      Hi there,

I'm at a loss as to what to do regarding this complaint.

Tire Discounters is insisting that since two years have passed and we didn't have any issues during that time, plus the fact that the passenger-grade tires were adequate for the weight of our travel trailer, that they do not owe us any sort of refund.

But a simple ****** search shows how dangerous it is to use passenger-grade tires on a travel trailer. It's more about the tires' design than any weight capacity. Travel trailer tires are designed to handle certain stresses that passenger-grade tires are not. And we only bought those 2020 tires based on Tire Discounters' recommendation.

Tire Discounters has made it clear that they consider this matter closed. I don't want to be a pest, but they put my family in an incredibly dangerous situation; my husband and I have now paid for both our 2020 tires AND a new set of tires for the travel trailer's new owners (since we immediately understand the gravity of the issue); and I just feel so incredibly frustrated. I don't understand why Tire Discounters won't issue a simple refund for such a huge mistake on their part.

      Regards,

On October 7th I went into a tire discounter in Paris Kentucky I talked to the gentleman in there his name was ***** I asked him about getting tires put on he said he could do it that day and I told him no I had to schedule it for a day I wasn't working so I came in on October the 10th to have four new tires and brakes put on my car I spent $1,033.89 before driving off from the parking lot I noticed a noise in the back of my car I pulled around the corner went inside I told him it was making a noise and they said oh well maybe it's the backing plate sometimes it has to be bent back so they put it back in the shop took the wheels off from it and they said it's not the backing plate it's probably because it has new brakes on it and it will take a while for the noise to stop well 500 Miles later the noise has not stopped today is October the 13th yes I realize that's a lot of miles I drive for a living this is why I purchased the Nixon 70,000 mi tires because I do drive a lot I made this very clear to them so on October 13th I get up to go to work at 1:00 a.m. and I have a back passenger flat tire my car is indicating that I have a front passenger flat tire so they obviously didn't put the sensor in the right tire no biggie but my car is still making this noise this is also the home of the free alignment from the very moment that I pulled out of there my car has been veering to the right it did do this a little before it's a little more now if it is doing it which means I probably did not get the alignment I would like for tire discounters to fix this issue however I do not want to have to take it back to the Paris Kentucky shop. The guys at the Paris Kentucky shop suggested to me to use flexshopper and I did that it was a nightmare they made me feel like I would not get my car back instead of assuring me that this has happened before that it would be okay it would just take a little while to get everything settled they allowed me to think I would not get my car

I took my car to TD ( to have the two right hand tires replaced because they were damaged and I used the warranty. I had been ran off the road into something and over it causing the damage. When I received the vehicle back, I was told it was good to go. I drove it and that awful noise was still coming from the right hand side and now the car pulled to the left (it was pulling to the right). I called them back and they said they'd take a test drive in it. I was THEN told that I had a bent tie rod. Not sure why this wasn't noticed before it could have saved me a trip as they should test drive all vehicles. I did not authorize them to fix the tie rod as I just placed a key in the drop box to be looked at (no pen). They replaced it anyways ..The car still acted the same with the same noise (which they claim they didn't hear). I was also informed that "all cars with tires make a sounds on pavement" by a rude man that worked there. Obviously a tire will make some noise just like our feet make a noise when walking on pavement. We took the car back for them to look over the car again. We were then told that the issue was the "left" driver tire that had gashes in it (it did not which is a total lie) and they'd replace it for free. My husband picked the car up again (not sure where they came up with this rear driver tire story!) and again, it did the same thing. I contacted them and was told that "my car does not pull and is aligned and reminded again as if I were a dumb woman that "all tires make noise against pavement". This is unacceptable. I will never go to any of these again I could care less about a free alignment. You get what you pay for people so be smart and go somewhere else! Because I already had 4 back surgeries due to being rear ended by a driver, I took my car to another mechanic. This mechanic states that the wheel bearing is bad which IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I want a refund. I see they put a generic reply. I just want a refund and to be done.

I just received a quote from a business my daughter takes her car and the wheel bearing IN FACT is bad.  TD on Redbank totally denied anything wrong and assumed I was a stupid woman who didn't realize tires make "a sound on pavement".  I have been in a head on collision (not our fault) and broke half my back and then rear ended resulting in 4 back surgeries.  An unsafe car causes extreme Anxiety and I refuse to drive it and the car IS NOT SAFE to drive putting my life at risk due to their incompetence.  I have Anxiety and PTSD due to cars and am requesting a full refund for the anguish, inconvenience, belittling and lack of professionalism from this store.  I would like to be contacted by them VIA EMAIL as I do not want something that doesn't have a paper trail.  I don't trust them and will never do business with this company as a whole again.

There is no resolution for this issue which is to refund my money.  I was out a vehicle for a while and had to borrow my daughter's car to take it to a mechanic who knew what he was doing.  Tire Discounters on *** **** **** left me with a car and told that tires make noises on the pavement.  Another mechanic has already fixed my vehicle which in fact, had a bad wheel bearing on it.  A safety issue.  As someone who has PTSD, Anxiety and other issues from being rear ended and multiple surgeries due to this, I find it disgusting that after multiple conversations, that TD denies there was an issue.  I have an invoice for proof of service/proper fixture of my vehicle.

Please return call to the regional manager as requested in his voice mail.  We have LVM at least 3x and you have not called back.  o further action will take place until you speak with him directly. TD will no longer respond via the BBB if you are choosing not to speak with the regional manager.

I have received two voicemails from Tire Discounters and both were for someone to pick up their vehicle.  I have NOT received a call and honestly don't have the patience to talk to anyone about this matter.  Please call my husband at 513 913 0032 Kevin perhaps he has more patience than myself.  There is nothing to talk about at this point.  The job was NOT DONE CORRECTLY OR COMPLETELY.  I was TOLD THAT TIRES WILL MAKE A NOISE ON PAVEMENT and I was also told the WHEEL BEARING WAS CHECKED OUT AND WAS FINE.  It was NOT fine and has been replaced by someone competent.  I don't have the time to go back and forth with a company that has a lot of unskilled and insulting employees working there based on my experience.  If I had known it was more than just replacing some bad tires I would have never dealt with them to begin with.  I don't understand what there is to talk about? They insulted me? Didn't fix the car right leaving myself a danger on the road to not just myself or others? If they don't want to reply on here that is fine I still want a refund.  I AGAIN received two voicemails that someone's car was ready, not mine.  So if those count as calls then yes, I do have those voicemails.  The fact that they won't discuss what their people did just proves their negligence as we all know things said on the phone can't be seen by people reading reviews on them.  Which, they have plenty of bad reviews.  Call my daughter at ###-###-#### if you want to talk to someone about how TD DID NOT FIX THE car as it went to her mechanic.  This is not rocket science.  This job sucked and you know it and you are wrong.

What I thought would be an easy service... an oil change... something they do every day has turned into a nightmare to say the least! Clint the store manager checked me in and gave me a time frame for pickup... Great! I paid for the service, and we were on our way.. next thing you know the hood is smoking. I get home and come back out later to find a puddle of oil and found a trail of oil all the way down the driveway and in the street. My husband looks under the hood and finds out the tech never put the oil cap back on. He checked the oil and its empty!!!! The store was closed on Sunday. I called Monday morning first thing to talk to Clint. I told him what happened, and he proceeded to tell me they never changed the oil. They said they noticed a leak and didn't service the car and put it back in the lot. That was all a lie! Clint called me back to tell me they would tow my car to the shop and take care of it. I called him a few times for an update and asked if they would clean the engine from the oil bubbling out. I couldn't drive the car Saturday evening, all day Sunday and couldn't use it Monday morning for work. I also have a very large oil spot in my driveway. When I got there to pick up the car Clint tells me they did change the oil and he thought I was the other person with a similar car and then says well all of those cars have a leak. Another lie right in my face. When I asked about compensation.. He tells me they can offer 50 percent off my next visit!!! I want my driveway cleaned! I want my car looked by a professional. It hasn't driven right since they touched it. The car smelled horrible for days. My head hurt from the fumes. I have called corporate for weeks no response.

We apologize that we did not meet your expectations.  Per the notes from our regional manager: "Other oil spots present under vehicle and have been leaking for a while, not fresh. TD has cleaned the entire driveway. The customer still has not brought car to TD for inspection. Our division director advised customer that we are not going any further with driveway cleaning than what we have done and that we are not liable for diagnostic fees related to inspection due to refusing to allow TD the opportunity to inspect the vehicle. The stalling issue is not related to the oil change TD performed. There is a probable vacuum leak or stuck idle control valve. Customer hasn’t allowed us to assist or inspect for cause." Tire Discounters considers this matter closed and will not be reviewing any further.
