Auto service was to replace front pads. The employee quoted $199.00. When I received the service only the store owner/manager was there. He quoted $313.00. I told him what was original quoted and him adjusted the price to $279.00. Since the work was completed I paid for instead of arguing with him.

BBB thank you for attempting to resolve this issue with Tire Discounters in ******* **.

I received an apology from the store manager which is unexcepable because a loud noise comes from my brakes when I back out of my driveway.  Something else is wrong with the brakes operation, therefore; I have to take my vehicle to the dealership for inspection.

This will no doubt result in additional cost.  I can't drive my car with faulty breaks on snow covered streets/roads.

As a result, I am forwarding my complaint to the **** Attorney General's Office.

Customer was unhappy with price quote, says it was outrageous for brake work. Customer agreed to the work to be performed and original quote was only a rough estimate, but the work was needed as brakes were below safe standard. Our pricing is vehicle specific and priced based on industry standards for parts and labor.  A discount was given but now stating getting the attorney generals office and a lawyer involved as it was not discounted enough. Tire Discounters considers this matter closed, but we do apologize that we did not meet the customers expectations.

I purchased a set of rims in February 2020. Tire Discounters serviced them regularly. Over the years I had a couple of issues that were resolved. However, in July 2022I had a set of rims ruined. I take before and after pictures and videos. Everything was documented. I pointed out my concerns to the staff. Even forwarding it to regional contacts. I have had zero traction. I am only told I must release items to them. They did not pay for. I paid for both sets of rims out of my pocket. I have email verification stating their negligence and ruining the rims. I am now out for 1800+ dollars. It is very frustrating to deal with a business such as this, knowing I run a family business that is three generations old. You must do right by the customer if you damage their property.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/04/2023

We have been in touch with the customer on multiple occasions and have advised him what needs to happen in order for Tire Discounters to assist, yet he refuses.  What we have asked is a standard process to return his old/damaged wheels and sign a release of claims.  We are not going to continue to review this any further and consider the matter closed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

rims were not purchased through tire discounters. They have minimal contact only telling me what to do .Yet their employee ruined my rims I purchased from SCS. Not tire a discounters product. I’ve now gotten The state of Tennessee consumer affairs looking in to the act of bad business. They should pony up. It’s called insurance, I own a 4th generation business. I know what they can do but refuse. They admitted I would receive compensation. No form was ever mentioned until weeks later. Very shady. I have text, emails of said promise from Kris t. He said my damages were embarrassing.

I have a fleet account with Tire Discounters. Their corporate office is based out of **********,Ohio.
I've had zero luck getting a live human on the phone. I have had all of my vehicles serviced there for a couple of years after swapping from discount tire after 20 years of service. I came to Tire Discounters to have my annual rotate balance and alignment in July in Spring Hill, Tennessee. I was unhappy with the level of care and attention given for the job I brought my truck in for. I explained my frustrations to *** and *** who work the front. They had a new helper at the time who was the most rude individual ever. wrote Rush in big red letters on my ticket when I had already made an appointment and told her I would be waiting on the vehicle. I was then told no you will pick it up seven hours from now. I said no I have an appointment I am going to wait I took before and after pictures of my vehicle. I do this for my protection from my lesson learned a long time ago dealing with corporations, such as Tire Discounters I pointed out the defects on my rims. I reached out to several people and Tire Discounters only to receive numerous runaround emails to no avail. It is very well documented in the system. I am sure as I have had numerous discussions with several top level people who have promised me service yet do nothing it is not justifiable to hire an attorney for $3500 to sue tire discounters for a set of $1400 rims they ruined. All Tire Discounters has to do is file an insurance claim because of an employees negligence. It's a simple request because I chose Tire Discounters to take care of my family's needs and vehicle's needs. It is ridiculous that I've had to reach out this this far to get help. I am hoping as a lifelong ********* resident that they can help in a situation such as this. I am out a cost of wheels to transport my family around, I had to purchase new tea, PMS monitors, and I had to pay ******* Tire & Service Center in ********, Tennessee to remove the old rims and tires and reinstall the tires onto the new rims. The technician who did the work on my vehicle at Gateway said it was the worst rims he had seen in 35 years. It was strictly done to abuse, plain and simple in his professional opinion.

We went to the tire discounters on ***** ******** ** ********* **** on Wednesday 12/21/22 looking to get 4 new tires. He informed us the next available appointment was Friday 12/23/22 at 4pm. I said ok and scheduled it knowing the weather would be bad. He took all my info into the computer and said see u at 4 Friday. On Friday I drove there.. my wife followed to take me home while my car was getting the tires. We walk in and the guy at the desk says “are you the 4pm apt” we said yes we schedule it Wednesday. He says “yea we are closing early now due to bad weather. We only have us 2 here and don’t have any techs left. We sent them all home” then asked to reschedule. Pissed me off. How are you going to be at the location working all day and not bother to call your appointments to tell them you decided to close early??? You wait till we show up??? Why couldn’t both the guys there put my tires on? They work there and we’re clearly open.. we drove in -30 wind chill temperatures thru the snow to get to my appointment I made 2 days prior for this dude to decide he closed his store early and not tell the customers in advance. This is a crappy customer service location. I wouldn’t go there unless it’s your last choice.

12-13-2022 I asked tire discounter on * ********* to check my wheel alignment and tire balance since they are the location that sold and installed my tires. I told the desk clerk my car has wheel locks and they should be careful and not use an impact. They clerk did not relay this message to the mechanic and when they took my car in the back I heard them using an impact wrench. They damaged my wheel locks and pretended it was like that beforehand saying it came from years of use. That was a blatant lie as my car is a classic that barely ever gets driven the wheels have only ever come off twice and this location did the work once before. They lied and kicked me out because they know they were at fault. Locking lug nuts have to be removed by hand I saw and heard them using a impact gun. The damage is clearly from an impact gun

Was scheduled in advance for noon 12/6/22 At 4:30pm 12/6 a friend in the area knows I'm waiting to leave town alerts me my car still hasn't been touched & I still haven't heard anything so I called for an update. Was told "I said it would be done today." 6:20pm (store is already closed) Manager calls & was rudely told "last tire is being balanced come get it" and hung up. Upon arrival, had to wait another 25 mins before it rolled out Pulled up noticed the old tires & wheels LEANING AGAINST MY CAR! He later tried to convince me this was so they could grind the back of the wheels(yes, grinding metal from the rim while it's leaned against my paint)& "rubber can't scratch paint". Wheels are black-every one had so much white WAX around them you wouldn't be able to tell if any damage was there until it was cleaned Since closed,& pouring rain I thought I'll check everything in the AM when I can survey. Photo shows what's left of the wax AFTER 2 washes by hand. I had to purchase 2 types of paint safe wheel cleaner to try to get the wax off even after gently hand scrubbing He tried to say that "it's only soap". Soap washes off-especially with cleaner. Over $40 to clean wax off - There were MASSIVE scratches around the wheels with tons of sections of paint gone. Very easy to see grey base metal showing when fresh paint is taken off. Manager tried to cover any damage up by continually saying "the only thing that touches the wheels from our machine is plastic, this is curb rash".(I guess he already forgot he had told me they were grinding on my wheels, which that voids out his claim there).THERE IS A GIANT FRESH STRIPE OF MISSING PAINT OVER 12" AROUND THE WHEEL. To add more check tire pressure light comes on. My grey valve caps are gone. When I check pressure every tire is over filled by a minimum of 10psi, with two being almost 20lbs over the recommended rating. No resolution with Manager or district Manager they have refused to compensate damages 4 rims/valve caps.

Our apologies that we did not meet your expectations.  The regional manager has been in contact with you and explained that the damage to all four wheels is clearly curb rash, not something that tire discounters has done.  Your pictures provided here, the same pictures provided to us previously, clearly show the curb rash in multiple places on all 4 wheels.  As a good faith gesture, we offered to repair one wheel - the wheel that has the longer mark that appears fresh.  Tire Discounters did not try to mask or cover up any damage to the wheels.  Curb rash is defined as "any damage to a vehicle's wheels or hubcaps caused by rubbing against the curb or other road obstacle. which is clearly the case here.  Our equipment would not cause the damage seen on your wheels.  Tire Discounters is denying your claim that we damaged your wheels and will not be reviewing any further.  Tire Discounters considers this matter closed.

The regional manager Scott tried to downplay the entire situation and after pulling teeth and arguing with him he finally said "fine i'll fix the one tire that has the 6" stripe in it" after I made it very clear the mark was over 12"(which new pics prove). I've attached one image showing well over 6" of paint stripped and there are 2 tires including this that have over a 12" scratch. The before and after photos are obvious to everyone but this company that there is tons of paint damage now, and this is a factory package from Infiniti. I'd think the before photos would show silver striping all around the tires had this paint damage been there before the shop got ahold of my car. Look how dirty the car is and how fresh all the bright silver paint showing is now. FRESH. I don't even know how anyone can try to deny the damage when the before and after pics make it obvious there is no silver exposed before this shop ruined it.

Please see our previous response, same applies.  All of the wheel damage on all four wheels is clearly curb rash with the ONE possible exception of the wheel we offered to repair free of charge which has the longer stripe of paint/powder coat missing (but still has a lot of curb rash.)  Tire Discounters is not taking responsibility for the curb rash on the wheels.  If you would like TD to repair the one wheel we offered, please let the regional manager know.  We consider this matter closed and will not be reviewing any further.

TD, please see my previous responses as nothing has changed nor did I once blamed TD for curb rash. I blame TD for all the paint missing, as the pictures clearly show were not that way before that shop got ahold of them. I previously attached more photos of various tires and damages, there's plenty of silver now showing all over. Obviously more than wire tire was damaged by TD. TD fixing one tire alone is absolutely not acceptable considering all tires will now have to be fixed. They look horrendous after TD was finished with my car - as before and after pictures clearly show. This is an unacceptable way to conduct business.
      This matter is not resolved.

This company is literally copy and pasting their response. Someone else needs to step in.

They significantly damaged the paint on every wheel, as photos clearly show.
There were numerous issues involved, including a SAFETY issue of all the tires being massively overinflated.
The entire experience has been nothing but a headache from the time the apt was scheduled and riddled with nothing but issues.
The only acceptable resolution is for TD to repair all four wheels they damaged, not their laughable offering of just one. As pictures clearly show, the wheels DID NOT look the same upon picking the car up as it did when I dropped it off.

If they don't want to have the wheels they destroyed fixed(as any honest business would in this case) I can have Infiniti send them an invoice for 4x brand new wheels for this car but I'd imagine that cost would be close to 4x the price of having these repaired.

I dropped my vehicle off on 12/1 for an 8:30 a.m. appointment on 12/2 for a wheel alignment. On 12 / 2 they contacted me at 918 a.m. and told me that I needed new tires but if I purchased the tires the alignment would be free. I Informed them that I knew I needed new tires but that I was holding off for a while and just only wanted the alignment. When I went to pick up my vehicle on 12/2 at 2:00 p.m. they told me that they were not able to do the alignment because of front end issues that needed to be repaired. I asked him to show me what was the issue. They put the vehicle on the list and they said the ball joint was out. I informed them with ball joint had just been replaced and that's why I actually needed the front end alignment. They could not specifically tell me exactly what was wrong with it, although I did notice that the rubber boot was missing. The ball joint was not out of place nor were either of the pins missing.

Later that same evening when I went to pick up the vehicle it was sitting in the parking lot with the dome light on the back tailgate light on and the door ajar. The contacted the manager before driving off so he could see how they had left the vehicle at which time he basically shrugged his shoulders and asked if I needed a jump .After driving the vehicle home had another licensed mechanic. Look at it to tell me that the vehicle was fine. There was no damage to the ball joint that had just been replaced other than the rubber boot was missing but that would not stop an alignment from being done. This was a scam to get me to purchase their tires, their front end work, what have you?. Had I been an uneducated female I would have frivolously paid for things that I did not need.

On October 13 I took my car (**** ***** *****) to Tire Discounters in ********* ******** ***** ******** ****** ****** ********** ** *****) to have my oil changed. I received a call from Tire Discounters saying I need to replace my tires as well. That day I had my oil changed and new tires put on. Everything seemed fine until a couple weeks later, I noticed oil spots in my drive way. I called Tire Discounters and was told to bring it in to have them look at it. I took the car in to have them look at it. I received a call saying it wasn’t a big deal and it is a very small oil leak. I relayed the information to my husband and he looked under the car saying there was oil everywhere. He stated that my car is a newer car and there should not be oil leaking like this, and that it is a big deal because you are not supposed to have anything leaking from your car. We have the car in the shop now. I have been without my car going on 3 days to try to figure out why I have an oil leak. The reason I am writing this is because since this past oil change I have never had any issues with my car, now all of a sudden I am leaking oil. Also, I am being told by Tire Discounters it is “not a big deal” when I have oil everywhere. The machanic working on my car said it is going to take him every bit of 1 hour to clean all of the oil up to be able to try to find where the leak is. I am very disappointed in Tire Discounters. I have been taking my car there regularly to make sure my oil is changed and tires are rotated. I have bought 2 sets of tires for this car through Tire Discounters. Once I find out what the full prognosis is of my car and the cost I will be reaching back out to Tire Discounters. I have tried calling corporate office and you can not get through to a person.

Tire Discounters said they are not able to do anything for me. I just paid $1,505 to have my car fixed because of the mistake they made, to much oil which caused the head gasket to blow on my car.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The Division Director has spoken with the customer and explained that we are denying her claim. Over filled oil will not cause a head gasket leak. We have documented return visit in which we verified engine oil level was accurate. The General Manager also asked the customer for repair shop information to ask questions and be able to inspect the vehicle, but the customer denied this. The customer also stated that the other repair shop could not validate that the oil was over filled, but is what they assumed. Tire Discounters is denying this claim and considers this matter closed.  We will not be reviewing this matter any further.

I had to call the Division Director myself because they failed to call me back when he said he would. Also, when I took my car in for the oil leak is when I was told not to worry about the leak and to put a piece of cardboard under my car to protect the driveway. The Manager did ask where my car was and I told him I wasn’t sure. I took it to Tire Discounters before I took it to the machanic so why are they wanting to investigate it now when they had it a couple days prior and told me the leak was not a big deal and nothing to worry about. Tire Discounters was so worried about selling me new tires that day (which they did) by harassing me 3 times when the first time I told them to let me call my husband instead of focusing on why the car was there in the first place for an oil change. They can put whatever they want on paper about the oil levels being where they need to be but I also have oil ALL over my driveway so I am sure the “overfill” is what is on my driveway if the levels were fine in the shop. If I am leaking oil and they are stating the levels are fine don’t you think there is something going on? I do! Especially when the mechanic told me it was going to take every bit of an hour to clean the engine because of the oil everywhere. Why was my car not low on oil? Why were the levels fine if it was leaking? I can attach a copy of my invoice showing the hours of labor they had to do to fix my car and put brand new oil in the car. They can state this claim closed but they are just trying to get away from what actually happen. The least the Manager could have done was apologize but that didn’t happen either.

I took my car to Tire Discounter's in Mt. Orab for an oil change and break work. Upon returning home, I discovered my passenger door would not open. There is damage under my car and to the front passenger quarter panel. Because of this damage, my door won't open. This damage was caused as a result of my car sliding/falling on the lift at the garage. When I dropped the car off, I retrieved items from the passenger floor, so I know the door was fully functional at that time. I discovered the damage, the day I picked the car up but after business hours. I called the following day. I spoke to the store manager (*****). I took my car to them, and he looked at the damage. He immediately decided it wasn't their fault. He did offer to bend the metal out. I declined and there is also broken plastic trim pieces. ***** contacted *** W, area manager. I took my car back up for him to look at. He also reports the damage didn't happen at their store. *** also offered to "bend it back out". I declined. At that time, *** stated he'd send pictures to their insurance company. Two days later, *** reported their insurance company denied the claim. I requested paperwork from the claim denial. *** informed me, it was internal, and I could not obtain a copy. *** gave me a phone number so I could contact their cooperate offices *************). I have called this number, daily, and left numerous voicemails. No one has returned my call. I have taken the car to a body shop for an estimate on the repair. The estimate is $308.15 to repair the damage they caused. Please note in the pictures, no damage on the door, past the "lift point".

I scheduled my car to get picked up by tire discounters on 11/18/22 to get tires balanced and rotated. They brought the car back at 6pm. I wasn’t home when they called and I asked them to leave it at front of garage. The next morning 11/19/22 I got in and noticed that the side control panel on drivers west was broken. I contacted them and they wanted the car back. They sent a tow truck Saturday. They looked at the car today 11/21/22 and said they will not be replacing the damaged their guy did. I don’t know what to do. Please help.

On September 13, Tire Discounters replaced my front brake pads. Immediately after, the brakes started squeaking. I alerted TD, and they told me to wait for the issue to resolve on its own. It didn't, so the car went back about 2 weeks later. At that visit, they assured me their best service tech had seen my car, and the issue was resolved. It wasn't - the brakes kept squeaking. The car went back on October 10th. This time, Tire Discounters told me the issue was the back brakes - now those pads and rotors needed to be replaced. I was dubious about the claim - the squeaking hadn't been present until they had replaced the front brakes, so it seemed unlikely to be caused by a totally separate issue. But, after spending a lot of hours to fix the problem at TD, and needing my car for a road trip that week, I trusted them and had them replace the back brakes. I picked the car up - still squeaking. I called them immediately, and - yet again - they advised me to wait a week to see if it "fixed" itself. When it didn't, TD advised me to purchase an annual plan that would allow them to pick my car up to work on it (!). Not eager to give this business more money (who had just done $1200 worth of work on my car and made it worse), I asked them to recommend a different Tire Discounters that I could use.

In the meantime, my husband removed the front brake pads, and the issue was apparent: Tire Discounters had put chipped pads on the front brakes when they did the work in September. In the ensuing two visits, rather than check that work, they misrepresented the situation and convinced me to pay for more work (that, it turns out, wasn't necessary at all - the back brakes did not need new pads and rotors). The store did shoddy work on the first visit; didn't catch that shoddy work on two more visits; and then conned me into spending more money unnecessarily.

I have now called them 7 times to resolve the issue (with a refund for the front brakes), and they are ducking my calls.
