Have been with them since they took over local banks (tcf, about 2-3 years) and initially was content. We had 2 bank accounts and a mortgage. No real big issues, easy to use the app and update a pin for debit card (super cool) or get a replacement. Never got checks because they cost money.
However, recently we had a scheduled autopay get declined, costing us over 200 bucks. We had several months of the autopay going through without issue. Their reason? "Different addresses". But they couldn't tell us what was different. It was for rent!
What a joke! Switching banks. We were considering another mortgage with them, but not anymore.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I open a asterisk Free checking account with Huntington. The entire time I've had issue. I tried to transfer money from PayPal to Huntington. They refused the payment. I tired to link a few different accounts that I receive my SSI on so I can transfer to Huntington. It came back with an error every time. I would contact and got no answers only go to the branch. There is no branch in mu city and I chose online banking due to not having use of my legs. I Finally get an account linked and transfer money into the account and as quick as I transferred it and went to withdrawal funds from the account. My account was closed. I called multiple occasions and thier response was due to not having activity in the account for a certain amount of time. Well there was no activity due to thier errors of not being able to transfer money into the account. I was told the transfer that I paid for instant deposit from one account to another was pending. I would have to wait and come to a branch and get it. When I called on a later date to see if the funds are available I was told the pending disappeared and also the 4 dollars ans some odd cents in the account disappeared. No explanation of where the fund went. I'm on a fixed income and do not receive much assistance such as foodstamps. Its been 4 days and I have not had a meal due to my account saddle closing and my money just disappearing and no explanation of where the fund are. This is the worst bank I have dealt with. Customer service is awful. They will hang up on you. This is not right and is stealing.The Huntington National Bank

1 starWorst customer service in Des plaines Illinois Branch off *** ****** ***. the employee SHOHBA told me to mind my business after I asked what she was saying with my information and social security number in her hand while speaking in Hindu to her coworker and I asked what's going on she said I'm not talking to you am i? I have never experienced such low class service as such I even closed the account right there and then. The worst bank ever. Don’t ever use it. They put holds on check after clearing and don’t give any information. Worst bank ever, keep your money in your mattress before you give it to these amateurs.The Huntington National Bank

They cater to the wealthy. Denied me for a loan "Not enough credit history."
3 years later, paid off auto loan 18 months early, 740 credit score with ** ****************** * *** *******...denied me for same loan. Reason? "Not enough credit history."
And told me I cannot speak with anyone from loan department.(said ****** CSR) "They don't take calls."
Asked how many years history do I need? They can't tell me that.
FYI, they closed all branches and ATMs in inner city...except downtown. 3 ATMs and branches downtown. Downtown is where the wealthy live.
They do not serve the middle class.
If you pose zero risk (wealthy) they want your business. If not, go elsewhere.The Huntington National Bank

I change my bank with them on September 29 Oct 15 I go in to cash a check got denied so I put the check in my account I never heard a bank hold yo money for 6 days hunting ton is holding my money and I had to wait from September 29 to 10/13 for my money they tellers are rude and the manager was rude if I knew this bank was like this I would’ve bank there now I have to wait for my money aint that much fuard going on for them to take someone money for that long they need to release my money or imma keep complainingThe Huntington National Bank

Horrible bank. Do not bank here! Very poor and shady bank practices. I have checked my account weekly for my weekly payroll deposits on the morning of my pay date. The deposit is never showing posted, but then later it will show that they deposited it a day earlier...huh? This is every week! They also have returned items that were on a 24 hour grace during that time that my deposit was supposedly in my account and they do not notify me and the items they returned disappear. No letter or message just gone. I called customer service today and spoke to 2 people that said they were supervisors but they could not answer my question. They said that's all handled in a "back department". What is that? Please tell me how this is happening. Something is seriously shady about their banking practices. I also had an IRS refund check I deposited on 10/10 and they said they had to put a hold on it for 7 days. They disclose in the banking agreement that the first $500 will be available in 1 to 2 days, but apparently not for IRS checks. Go figure...I suppose if I deposited a check from *** **** they would honor that agreement. Horrible bank. Do not let them handle your money.The Huntington National Bank
