If I could give this bank zero stars I would. This bank communication suck!!! I opened a account online and al of a sudden couldn't access the account after a day, I then reached out to customer service who stated I would recieve a letter in the mail and if I futher questions go into the branch with a ID. I never received a letter nor any form of communication from anyone notifying me that the account had been closed. I then went in to the branch to open account and was told yes, I see it states you had to come in to open account but unfortunately we can't open the account today because we are short staff. I said okay and returned a week later which was just yesterday 6/20/2023. Yesterday I went in and opened a account again with a young lady ***** ****** which by the way was a very nice young lady. Ms ****** opened the account and stated I need to complete my direct deposits in order to receive the $400 bonus so I did so immediately. I switched over my job income deposit account along with my dad's SSA because I'm his payee. So today 6/21/2023 I go to log into my online account and it says the account is locked, I then contacted customer service and they once again told me the account need to be verified and I would get a letter in the mail. I then replied back to the young lady that I would not wait for a letter and that I would like to speak to her supervisor because I had already switch out all my direct deposit accounts and could not wait. The young lady then connected me to her supervisor who then stated she understood my fustration but the account had been closed and that I would be notified by mail why. I stated to the young lady that this is a huge inconvience because I switched out all my direct deposits and why wasn't I inform this by the banker before opening the acoount. The lady then stated she is informing me now which I thought was very rude and inconsiderate. I deposited funds into this account and wasn't told how to get them back or anything.The Huntington National Bank

This bank needs to close and be investigated closely. You are unable to get answers in a timely matter and are continuedly lied too. Case in point is their IRA department - nobody [branch or corporate - even though they had a death certificate] was unable to say if there was beneficiaries listed - needed only a yes or no answer - no names- for the attorney and was told only to take 7-10 days because it had to be researched [are we back in the stone age??] Took almost 1 month to get an answer and that was after almost weekly phone calls to branch office and corporate. Was told by corporate office on June 2, 2023 that stuff was mailed to us on May 31, 2023. I called corporate back on June 9, 2023 and asked if the mail was coming by horse and buggy. It is June 18, 2023 and I still have nothing from Corporate that I was told was in the mail. The branch office isn't much help either in getting answers as had another question regarding IRA and was told it had to be researched. I have called branch office a couple of times and was told by branch office they have to find a different way of contacting IRA department because IRA department's voice mail box is full but would contact me as soon as they had an answer. That is extremely bad if a branch office can't even call a corporate office to get an answer because the voice mail box is full! Branch office gave me this information on June 14, 2023 at 9:31 AM. It's June 18, 2023 and I am still waiting for an answer.The Huntington National Bank

It's like this, You have a checking account with Huntington, in one week you make a couple purchases. By the end of the week these pending transactions are settled and all is well with your account. Come the next week you either have a check deposited or you make a couple more purchases. All of a sudden those previous weeks pending transactions that were already said and done are suddenly pending again, and your online statement now shows that those previous transactions are only now being deducted from your account. They do this continuously all throughout the week and especially over the weekends. You can never budget, because what you think is in your account suddenly changes. The dates even change on the pending transactions. Huntington claims this is just how their system is set up. When in reality it is designed to double dip your account and make it incredibly confusing for you to keep track. In my specific situation I had medication that was urgently needed. There was enough money in my account to cover this transaction. This was coming from an online pharmacy. Huntington denied the transaction claiming there wasn't enough money in my account, because old transactions that had already been settled and were no longer pending, we suddenly pending again and deducted money once more from my account. They refused to refund me or offer any help at all. We started taking screen shots of our account, keeping all deposit slips, and receipts. Sometimes only $50 would be missing from our account, sometimes it would be over a hundred. If you launch a complaint with proof, they will return the money, but then that same money will be removed again on a later date. It is an endless cycle, with absolutely no closure on Huntingtons end. They are Not trustworthy! They are crooks. They need to be sued for this. Keep track of your account extremely closely. I had someone scam me out of a house deposit. My cash app and bank account is linked together. Cash app didn't look into case. Therefore I contacted my bank about situation, they said they would help me. They put the funds back into my account months later cash app lied to the bank investigator saying that the transaction was accurate the lady posing as a landlord blocked me . I reported the woman who scammed me as a scammer. I sent the bank all my proof and now they reversed the charges on me, I'm very disappointed the bank made the situation worse. Now I have to reopen the case since huntington said they handled it and didn't believe my proof but took cash app word for it. I have proof of everything the bank still refuses to help me drop the charges on my account. Now they are asking for the police report and claim they are not sure if they can help me once i send that proof as well. when this is over I am looking for a new bank to do business with.The Huntington National Bank

My cell phone broke and I bought a new phone with my debit. They flagged my card for fraud. Did not block the cell phone but blocked my lunch and gas money to get home after workinh 13 hrs. Got into with the managers went in circles could not vlaidate my account because they would only sent the verification code. I cussed out a smart mouth manager and they closed my account which is completely fine. They blocked my number on all customer care lines and I had to go and request my money. Was told corporate is closing my account and I can call customer care. Which I couldn't I am blocked. Mean while 5 weeks later I still do not have my money or any letter explaining anything. Went on the website attempted a live chat was cordial told them my info and after validating my account the chat was ended with no explanation.The Huntington National Bank

Huntington is currently holding a payroll check that my girlfriend mobile deposited into our joint account. It’s been 10 days and they claim it’s because they are waiting for the funds to be paid. Funny though the payroll company confirmed with their bank that the check has been deducted from their account. So it appears Huntington’s incompetent decision making is causing a hold on our funds as well as the potential downside of incurring late fees on bill payments like rent, utility bills, fuel to get to work and the possibility of being late on credit line payments resulting in derogatory credit marks. Huntington doesn’t care and is currently lying about the reasons for their hold. Apparently this isn’t an issue only I’ve faced. Huntington needs to be held accountable. If your bank is afraid to handle checks in a timely manner because of the “risks” then you need to not handle checks at all and put that in your customer agreement so honest hardworking people can steer clear from your bank.The Huntington National Bank

THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT W/O REASON.EVERYONE IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND.I CANT GET A. ANSWER FROM ANYONE.I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ACCESS INTO MY FUNDS FOR THE LAST 12DAYS.1st I WAS”EXPECTING A LETTER”THEN THE BRANCH COULDNT CLOSE ME OUT AND GIVE MY FUNDS THEY WERE WAITING ON CHARGES TO CLEAR THEN THE BRANCH COULDNT CLOSE ME OUT BECAUSE THE(800)#SAID THEY HAD MAILED MY CHECK 7DAYS LATER I CALLED(800)#AGAIN WOMDERING WHERE IS MY MONEY,AND NOW THEYRE SAYING MY ACCOUNT IS STILL ACTIVE&CANNOT MAIL MY FUNDS UNTIL ACCOUNT IS FULLY CLOSED.NOONE CAN GIVE ME AN ANSWER AND ALL MY FUNDS HAVE BEEN KELT AWAY FROM ME.I AM A SINGLE MOM W/2KIDS AND I HAVENT HAD ACCESS TO MY OWN MONEY IN BOUT 2 WEEKS! Doesn’t watch your accounts for fraud. Unusual activity should close account immediately. When a dispute is filled they say you are responsible. Customer service is very rude, told us we stole money from the bank. Will never do business with this bank againThe Huntington National Bank

Huntington Bank are crooks. No one person provides a similar answer let alone same one.
They put deposits on long holds, then extend the holds ,
You can NEVER talk to anyone who makes any of the so called decisions.
I tried to log in the other day and couldn't ...so I called the 800 number and was told because a deposit was on hold I couldn't look at my account, talked to 2 more different people , different answers and finally got told my account was locked, and up for closure..... so apparently Brendan in fraud mitigation decided I use my AVAILABLE balance too much before they collected funds.....I guess consumers aren't allowed to use their available funds....I was even told to look at the small print. I asked how I could get MY money out of the bank....I was told to go into a branch. Which I did, and was then told she was uncomfortable giving me my money while account was locked.
So another hour long phone call being given the run around I was told to go into a branch. 2 banks later I got my funds except for a deposit that has a hold on it. Run run run don't bank hereThe Huntington National Bank

Huntington is refusing to release funds on my first trust check deposited when it cleared the bank it was from and making me wait 1-2 weeks for the funds, I will not be doing business with them anymore. Three separate people said three separate things on why my check cannot be released then asked if I could get a letter from the bank it was through to release my funds when they confirmed it was released already. I also do not meet any of your fine print check hold criteria requirements. The customer service I received at the branch was quite awful when trying to rectify the situation as the rep was very rude. My initial bank, **** ** ******* was able to cash other trust fund checks in one day with zero issues and is where currently I have around $15,000 sitting with them I was going to transfer over to Huntington to plant my roots while waiting for the large lump sum from the ****** IRA. Making higher profile customers wait week(s) for their funds and giving them the run around which is disorganized, dishonest and a lack of training is not good business when I am looking who to trust to manage my money. Called back to confirm my check hold to end on the 16th because I have an email stating that. They said they still somehow do not see the check cleared when it was cleared in a day last week and still want me to get a letter from the bank showing it was cleared. My closet branch because I moved is 2.5 hours away. They said now it won't clear until the 18th. This is NEVER happened EVER in my entire lifetime. It's a check how can you just hold people's money for 2 weeks then ask us to do your own job for you when you have the technology to see the check was cleared! This is insane and I will be getting a lawyer.
