Huntington bank has drastically changed over the past 3 years, and NOT for the better. They act like they are your friend in banking and they offer things that they say are to make banking easier but they penalize you when you use those things and they DO not care they they say they do if you have been a customer for years.
Last year I deposited a check from my retirement, ******* **** *** ***** ******** The check got flagged with a hold and they advised me "the system " tagged it as possibly not being able to get the funds, which is a complete joke.
******* **** and trust company is much bigger than Huntington and they even proved that Huntington received the money yet Huntington still had my money on hold.
The check was under $2500 and it was an official check from another financial institution and they put it on hold and just continued to tell me it they could not do anything, it's just the system and it's random.
But I have deposited a handwritten paycheck from the company I worked for, a small local business for over 5k and they deposited that NO problem NO HOLD.
After 30+ hours on the phone over 5 days they removed the hold and advised that this should not of happen. They said they had history of previous deposits from ******* **** and trust and there was no reason to believe they would not get the funds. Well guess what, it happened again, and not only is the check on hold, I called right away and said if they can not remove the hold I wanted to cancel my deposit and I would take the check to my credit union and they advised they could not do that either.
I Don't even need access to all of the money but as it states on line established customer have access to $500 right away. That is lie.
They also reassured me last year that there are notes in there and that this would not happen again when I made a deposit from ******* **** and Trust. But it did and it's the same BS different people tell you different things and you get no answers. I'm done with this BankThe Huntington National Bank

I got hacked in October along with my bank account. The hacker opened 8 accounts through Huntington in my name, AFTER deactivating my card because I noticed fraudulent activity. Then finally getting the accounts closed I tried to re open my bank account and the bank couldn’t re open because the account was “overdrawn” .. I know for sure I had money in there .. anything after October 24th WAS NOT ME and I tell everyone I’ve been on the phone with (I’ve made at least 15 total calls since incident) every department gives me different answers … I go into a branch they give me a number to call .. I call the number they make me go to a branch .. very unprofessional company with no cybersecurity! I even paid the difference for the overdrawn account hoping to at least get my account back and start over..and I wasn’t able to .. people get hacked all the time I hope this doesn’t happen often to customers because I was robbed in my sleep .. I woke up to purchases in Texas and Maryland and a bunch of states … Huntington is fairly local and not in those states … I really can’t believe I’ve been going this long with no answers. The Huntington National Bank

I have been with this bank since 2018 with personal accounts . I opened a new business account a few months ago and when I made a check deposit through mobile banking that was given to me by my client I was told my account would be closing due to the check being fake. How could this possibly be my fault?! I was assured before the check even cleared that I would not have it closed as I called right away. Yet they are going to close it and not even discuss it with me.The Huntington National Bank

I made an appointment to meet with a customer service representative at a Huntington Bank outlet in the Twin Cities to open a 14-month certificate of deposit at 5.13%, as advertised on their website. On the day of the appointment, the representative inexplicably didn't show, so they sent out someone else who clearly didn't know what she was doing.
I wanted to know the diference between 5.13% APY versus a straight 5% interest rate on the CD.. The woman had no idea. She called someone but said she didn't understand it enough to explain it to me. I asked what the penalties were for early withdrawl from the CD. Again, no idea. She had to call someone to find out. And so it went for the next hour.
At one point, I told her I was going to Spain in a few weeks and wanted to know if my ATM card would work there. She admitted that she had never heard of Spain and was dumbfounded when I told her it was a country in Europe.
After an hour of back and forth -- unable to get answers to the most basic of questions -- I threw up my arms and left. The result is, I have over $100,000 sitting in a Huntington checking account because I can't get the assistance I need to open a certificate of deposit. It's a lot of money and I don't trust the bank to handle the transaction correctly,.
By the way, I don't blame the woman who was sent out to help me. I blame the bank for failing to properly train their customer service representatives to handle the financial needs of customers. I was appalled.

I have been making deposits at the Huntingtons ATM at this location for my ******* ****** *************** account for sometime now and never had problems. But for some reason I go one day to deposit $500 and the ATM machine kept my money and locked my card and told me I entered the money in an insufficient amount of time and to contact my bank. The staff at this branch location have not been helpful in any shape or form. Their favorite line is oh you can’t use another financial debit card at our atm but yet I have proof it can be done. They won’t pull the camera or give any information in regards to how often there atms are audited. I had my bank file a dispute it came back as denied and the atm was not over, someone counted either the wrong atm or they pocketed my money or it got deposited into someone else’s account. This has been complete bs as I would never make a big fuss over something that was a lie. I’m not talking $5/$10 I’m referring to $500 I’m a single mother and I need every penny, I work hard for my money and for them to play in my face and not return what’s due to me is frustrating. So until I keep getting the run around I will do everything in my power to reach out to whoever I can until it’s resolved. And when it is finally resolved I will be closing my account with this company. Huntington is such a disgrace and have poor customer service. Staff need to be educated on what there ATMs can and can’t do.The Huntington National Bank

Steer clear of Huntington Bank for SBA Loans. The front end is smooth and quick but after they approve the loan their documentation, consistency in actions across the client facing representative (i.e. some will blindly approve anything and others don't have good explanations why they deviate from practices you've done for months), they have no electronic repository for critical documents leading to multiple agents in multiple departments repeatedly asking for the same documents you've previously submitted (more than once), their business "success manager" is a joke and can't help w/ things like depositing large sums into your account (unless you buy their scanner and some other BS subscription) nor do they initiate any conversation w/ you (not once did mine reach out on his own -- it was always a question from me followed by a short answer that really wasn't an answer), horrible customer service all around, and no intent to fix anything. Also, be prepared to wait to receive funds. At one point I waited over two weeks for a draw request -- I think they forget we are trying to run a business. Here's a hint, Huntington: hire more people or don't bring on clients you are unable to adequately provide service to.The Huntington National Bank

They lied to their customers. I submitted a request for a reversal of a payment, was supposed to have received on 3-24-23. I log on, no credit received. Speak to their customer service, they said it was canceled.

opened a few checking accounts with them a few days ago because I was going to be switching banks. I had to cancel a bank transfer and did it before the cutoff time so there should not have been any issues. 30 minutes after I canceled they informed me that they suspended my ability to transfer funds from my other bank to Huntington. I'm so glad I didn't have any money in Huntington yet. I generally have a lot of funds in the bank and was wanting to spread my funds with all the bank turmoil that has been happening. It's safe to say that I will not be using Huntington EVER. They are fools if they think I'm going to put any money in a bank when they retaliate the way they did just because I canceled a transfer request. The Huntington National Bank

I would give this 0 stars if it was an option. I would NEVER recommend this bank to anyone after my recent interaction. Not only do they take out multiple payments and blame "system issues". They also can't refund your personal money because of, again, "system issues". They don't honor what their employees say, and their management is scripted. Please protect your money and your stress and never use them. I made a payment through their automated system that said it "had an error", so it transferred me to a representative to verify that payment. They not only said it didn't go through, but they took another payment. BOTH payments went through, and when I called back to get a refund, I was told "because of the system, we cant". From the basic rep that disconnected me AND REFUSED A MANAGER, to the eventual manager that just kept repeating what he couldn't do for me so he transferred me to someone's voice-mail. This is a terrible bank to do business with. And any place that takes your money and can't give it back because of "system reasons", doesn't deserve anyone's business. The Huntington National Bank

If there was a zero I would have put that, they closed my account without telling me and I have to wait 7-10 for an explanation and a check for my money that was in there.
Customer service did say they saw fraudulent activity, however I know every transaction made, before they bought out our little TCF bank that I was a customer for over 30 years with absolutely no problems ever, nothing but issues since day 1 with them .The Huntington National Bank
