      I would not recommend Nationwide to anyone and will never be a customer again. I got my 6 month auto policy in May and in September they requested information/documentation on someone in my home who has their own car and insurance and does not drive my car. In September, they reached out several times in which I confirmed on every single occasion that he was not a driver and had his own insurance. I emailed with someone, provided the requested documentation and was told theyd reach out if they needed anything else. I went to check my policy on November 1 and it was cancelled. I never received a call or email regarding why or that this was taking place. When I called in, they said it was due to the smallest reason. They were unsure if the person in my household was an owner of my car. Which he is not and I confirmed he was not several times. If they had reached out to me to confirm this I would have done so, but I didnt know this problem existed in the first place. When I asked to have my policy reinstated/renewed they would not, but this was a blessing in disguise. I immediately got a new policy with ***** and they have already been exponentially better. If you look up reviews about Nationwide it looks they do this regularly. Shame on them. It was a pain for me to deal with this but I cant imagine someone who isnt technologically inclined or older struggling with this. Do better Nationwide.

      Nationwide is not renewing both my pet policies because they no longer offer Whole Pet. I have paid my premiums on time every month since we got the dogs. Now they want me to sign up for new policies with pre-existing condition exceptions. The least the company could do is waive the underwriting for pets affected by this change.

      Nationwide is NOT on your side. They need to change their tune, literally. I'm *************************************************************************** auto on my condo. Lady above me had leaking pipe which eventually found its way to my ceiling, courtesy of gravity, and of course I wanted it checked for mold and repaired. Who wouldn't? Nationwide Insurance handled everything from the inexperienced and totally non-responsive adjuster to the mailing of my returned annual premium check (second unhappy experience) ($1040 plus change because I changed companies after this horrific experience) without providing ANY real customer service. They claimed the check was mailed on 5 Sept 2024, but when it wasn't received in mid-Oct 2024, it had to be voided and reissued (and I don't believe for one moment they mailed it) and the new check was received on 30 Oct 2024. This entire claim was handled in the worst way possible. If I could give a negative star rating, I would. You are truly horrible. You have no problem taking my money for years but the first time I need to reach you, you make it so hard that one almost gives up and hangs up. Not to mention your ridiculous IVR which makes you jump through hoop after hoop after hoop in hopes of speaking to actual person. I've no doubt this is done on purpose to dissuade one from expending any more effort and hanging up. You are the WORST company I've ever dealt with in my entire life. I ended up filing a case with the ************** of my state, insurance division because I knew that would make a difference. I just want to WARN anyone out there thinking about buying insurance from this company, to save yourself the trouble and find a company which truly is on your side, unlike this company which is only on its own side. I'm sure the management and most of the EEs are overpaid out of our premiums. They think every year should be a 'fat' year and that it's truly not a shared risk. If I could, I'd not have insurance. AVOID!!!

      I had premium pet insurance for my cat for years from Nationwide, but only began requesting reimbursement in the past twelve months as he developed a minor, at this point, health problem. Now Nationwide is arbitrarily cancelling the insurance, with no option, per the representative, to insure my cat: "it would be a new policy" and due to the now pre-existing condition. Not eligible for insurance. I expect Nationwide to do nothing of real value, and give platitudes just as they did over the phone. I will be strongly encouraging all my acquaintances to find alternatives for ANY coverage they have by this company. Who knows what type insurance they will cancel next. I am forced to give them one star, but they are zero star .

      I had filed a homeowners claim with Nationwide when I called a plumber to fix a leak and it turned into much more. The first phone call to claims they farmed it out to one of the water restoration companies they use. That evening they said that company can't do any work until someone could come out and take pictures. That was going to be more than a week. I sent them pictures and I had the restoration company come out and take pictures too and still no response I have no escalated this with a senior claims manager because the water is causing more damage now but still no immediate action. The damage keeps getting worse so I ask a remediation company to come out and start work as my home is now falling apart. Still have no idea if they are going to cover this.

      In the last year car insurance went up ****** per month. Called to check to see why they would not give me any answers. Maybe they need to quit sponsoring sports and take care of there customers.

      I would not recommend nationwide to anyone! They make it very difficult to switch policies and give you all sorts of loopholes and excuses to avoid coverage or reimbursement owed to the customer.

      If I could give a negative 10 I would! I have never in my 50 years of life been more frustrated over such deplorable customer service. I have emailed ********************** via the website 3 times now, promised a response within 3 business days, I never hear from anyone. I have been asking my former agent for 6 MONTHS now for assistance and he said he "doesn't have access" to my 2021 policy. I have called Nationwide and spent HOURS on the phone, to eventually get hung up on because my policy isn't currently active! I need assistance badly with a 2021 policy and NO ONE will assist me! Beware to everyone, if you ever have to reach customer service after your policy is cancelled, it won't happen. They don't even answer the phone! ******! They're awful!

      My experience with ********** Insurance has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I filed a legitimate claim for compensation after suffering a wrongful arrest due to the tortious acts of **** ****** *** *******, ************ insured. Instead of addressing my claim fairly, ********** denied it based on an irrelevant exclusion—‘breach of contract.’ This exclusion had nothing to do with my case, which involved serious issues like defamation, false imprisonment, and malicious prosecution, all of which should have been covered under the policy.
      Despite their obligation to act in good faith, ********** ignored the clear merits of my case and unfairly denied coverage. Their handling of my claim was negligent and demonstrated a lack of consideration for the damages I have suffered. This bad faith denial has only prolonged my financial hardship and emotional distress.
      I would caution anyone dealing with ********** to be aware of their tactics. It seems they prioritize denying claims over properly evaluating the harm their policyholders have caused. If you are seeking an insurance company that will truly stand by you when you need it most, ********** is not the one.
