      Horrible, tried to schedule appointment, website crashes, can't call to schedule because phone # is impossible to find. Once you find phone auto dialer system won't get you to rep at all. Good luck if you go with them.

      I had my windshield replaced on Friday. The technician informed me that there was an issue exterior pillar trims and he pulled them off, they fell apart/broke/disintegrated. Its made of a hard plastic to withstand the elements. Both side are gone now. When I called Safelite, I was told “they are a One time use. If thats the case, why is not included with the replacement of the windshield. Neither side had any chips or cracks in them.
      When asked about the holes that are exposed, he told me “its fine, no water will get into it.
      He also had to physically bust the whole windshield to get it out. I have found shards and slivers of glass everywhere even in the backseat.
      I do have small cuts on the dash and passenger side interior pillar.

      Never again! I took my 2020 SUV there today for a windshield repair. The crack was just a little over an inch. The tech came out and said that he was doing the repair, and after he returned for the bathroom the crack had spread over to the side. It's now longer than a dollar bill and the windshield has to be replaced! He admitted that he left my car unattended during this service and now I have to pay for replacing the windshield after things went wrong. The manager reported that it can sometimes happen, but they should have the responsibility of monitoring their workmanship to protect our vehicles. I feel this location is substandard and lacks professionalism and accountability.

      When my windshield was cracked for the second time in 2 years, I thought it would be much easier this time to use Safelite as that was who my insurance recommended. The last time it happened I went through my dealership, and it was a hassle to get them to accept the direct insurance compensation. I was told to drop off my vehicle and that they would contact me when ready. After doing so I received a call a few hours later saying that there was an issue with replacing the windshield as there was a well that was not intact where they would have to put the windshield into. I then asked when I could come pick up my car so that I could go get this fixed (thinking I would just drive it to my dealership and leave it with them to fix and replace the windshield). They responded only that there was no windshield, and he would have to talk to his manager to figure out where to go from here. So, I asked the technician who was contacting me via text (there was no clear number to call for a service desk) how was I expected to go and get this fixed? No response. After not hearing back after a few hours and it was getting later in the day I was able to hunt down a number I could call only to be told by the service desk that the manager said that he told me (a big fat lie BTW) as I never spoke to the manager that I would have to get the car towed to a body shop, have the issue fixed and then towed back to them to put in the windshield. All this on a Saturday at 4pm. I have work starting at 8am on Monday and my dealership is now closed. All I received was a sorry from the service desk. I WILL NEVER DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THEM AGAIN! What a bunch of unfeeling monsters.

      Got our windshield repaired while it was in the car shop and when it was installed the seal molding was placed to far to the driver side when my husband raised the hood it caused pressure on the glass and caused it to crack. Even though it was an installation issue Safelite blamed the car shop and claimed it’s not covered under warranty. Now we are having to pay out of pocket for a new windshield. Safelite would be the absolute last place I would recommend using .

      I had a drop and go appointment. They told me they would call when it was ready. I never received a call. When I talked to them on the phone I was informed it was probably because the job wasn’t finished. I asked if I could leave for my car for it to be finished the next day. They said no; I had to make a new appointment. A rep called to schedule. I was given an appointment over a week out, and when I showed up to that appointment they informed me that none of the techs able to do that work were scheduled for that time.

      I was told that the amount to replace my windshield would be $460.11 yet when I was billed it was for $726.22. My main concern was that it needed to be under $500.00 due to my insurance. Under $500.00 is a small claim over it's considered a large claim. The service dept. said that my windshield could not be calibrated by the tech and I needed to take it to a dealership. Yet the tech was able to do the calibration. My understanding that it was an extra $266.11 for calibration. If I had know, I would have taken it myself to have it done. My insurance will go up and this is what I was trying not to happen. I want to know why the calibration was so much? Your workers need to know what can be done out in the field so they can give proper quotes. This is the worst service. I will be paying for a simple windshield for years, with my insurance increase.
      All I want it the amount to be under $500.00. I would pay the excess if any. The calibration is what put it over and I feel the cost of $266.11 is extreme.

      This is a review of Safelite overall, not a specific location. As an autobody shop owner who installs and replaces automotive glass I would like to state that we and most other shops have ceased to accept referrals from Safelite. They have been playing middle man by handling the billing and payment for major auto insurance companies and they have taken most if not all profit our of replacing glass as an autobody shop. One windshield for instance was for a 97 Ford F250, Their rates they mandated we accept were 37% off the list price of $212 for the glass and $40hr labor, which ends up being less than our cost for the glass and no tech in the shop is willing to install glass for %20 less an hour than our body rate. Safelites reply when we state we're not willing to accept these rates is "You have the right to refuse the job".
      Of course, because then Safelite themselves sets up the glass replacement which then they profit from the entire job instead of a small percent for handling the billing and payment and in turn helps create a larger monopoly for themselves. They are buying out independent glass shops also. How is it legal for Safelite to insert themselves between the Insurance company and the independent glass installers and cut almost or all of the profit out of glass replacement and then take over the job or later the entire business? It would be like our body shop handling the billing and payment to a neighboring shop and forcing them to accept a ridiculous discount and labor rate to the point of either having to refuse the job or go broke, Then we get their business and customers for instance. Obviously when every location has a 1 star review for their installation locations then there's an issue and The insurance companies willing to allow Safelite to be involved should realize there's an issue here.

      Poor customer service. Scheduled & paid at home repair, plus early appointment, and they never showed up, I finally called and they said they don’t service my area, but they have been here before, and when I entered my zip code on their website it directed me to that store. Never again.

      Had an appointment at Safelite on 8 June. Dropped the car off on 7 June and handed my key to a service rep and asked him if the location I parked my car was ok and he stated yes. I arrived at 4:45 pm on 8 June and noticed the windshield was not replaced. I asked the service rep what was the problem. He looked around and could not find my key. He asked who I gave the key to and I told him it was you. He looked around and it was on the service desk next to him in a clear service envelope. I took the key and car and departed Safelite. I could not leave the car for a second day as I had a appointment to have work done on the car on 9 June. On June 9th I used the Safelite chat on their website and they told me they had me listed as a "No Show". They gave me a number to call and was handed what I expected, nothing. I called Safelite in Latham and the person on the phone who gave me a couple of answers and the last was the service rep had a death in the family. I asked why he was still working which is really was none of my business. I explained that I know things happen on accident but listing me as a "No Show" was deliberate.
