      IGS energy fraudulently doubled my electric bill. I don't know how they can charge me if I never authorized all these extra charges.

      find proof of enrollment for the IGS contract.  The contract renewed after
      the first 12 months to a Month to Month variable rate. IGS send a letter on
      September of 2017 advising ot the month to month rate.  
      The
      account is still active with IGS, IGS can be reached at 800-280-4474 to
      lock  in a new fixed rate.

      IGS Energy distribution service was added to my West Penn power. Recently discovered as i was being charged $0.19 per kwh versus domestic rate of $0.08 (my monthly bill should be <$200 turned into $481.
      I never wanted this. I never opted in. They called and gave me some story about hiw the plan works, opting in every x months.

      IGS received
      this enrollment via the utility referral program.  The account was enrolled on January 7, 2016.
      Attached
      you will find copies of letters IGS mailed regarding the contract.  Most recent letter was sent in July.
      The
      letter advised the customer of a new rate increase. 

      No refund
      is due since enrollment is valid.

      I do not accept the Business's response. I was not an owner of the property on the date they identified as when I committed to their service for this property. I did not close on the house until later in January.

      I never opt'ed in to their program. Never signed up for their service. It needs to be opt-in not opt-out. I was a customer of West Penn Power not of IGS. Any correspondence they may have sent (I don't recall receiving anything, ever) would have been considered junk mail as far as I was concerned I never had a relationship with their company. Certainly nothing I ever signed up for.

      They are charging double the rates from the past. I also called and canceled with them before the billing cycle and was still charged after calling AEP and confirming that they should not have been on the next billing cycle. So now I have another 200.00 dollar charge against me.

      IGS processed the enrollment the day the customer requested.  IGS must sent the notice to the utility.  The utility can take one to two billing cycles to remove a supplier.

      Recently received a letter from IGS home warranty. The letter stated a protection plan and charge would be processed.

      I contacted IGS since I never agreed to this warranty. I was told by IGS that a representative from IGS was at my home on Aug 19 2022. I never spoke to anyone that date. Further they stated a signature was obtained by my husband, ( who is deceased).

      Supposedly my deceased husband also agreed to a fixed rate with IGS for 36 months.

      IGS is fraudulently enrolling consumers into fixed rates and home warranties. I believe this is fraud and has added to the emotional stress I already experience with the loss of my husband.

      igs guy said he was with my power company aes and i didn't opt out off a new company that was charging more then he said he took care of it then now i got email saying im paying more and u are not with aes and i told this man i didn't want to switch nothing i want all of your services cancelled and i want to be with where i was and u off of my stuff .

      On 8/25 two representatives for igs knocked on my door, they claimed that they were part of Colombia gas and that they were collecting my data for the service. After giving them my information I got an email stating I made an account with their gas company. I was never told anything about that and when I looked up the company I learned it was a scam. It’s such bullshit and I hope they stop scamming people into thinking they’re with Columbia gas. I called immediately canceling my so called account that I never even signed up for. Hoping I won’t be charged and that they lose my information.

      This is my first time I have ever filed a complaint, I was contacted by several, I mean a lot of solar companies when I bought my first house. I chose Momemtum/IGS because of the rate they promised and the fact that I will be paying for the solar I generate rather than a loan in my name to pay for the solar panels. Momemtum guaranteed a 3-6months discount/voucher for signing up with Momentum Solar. My panels went live in March because I noticed my utility bill dropped, so I was expecting a bill from the solar company. I contacted Momentum in April and they told me IGS will send me a bill. I called IGS several times inquiring about my bill and they kept telling me they are waiting on final approvals from Momentum. I just received a bill in August for $1,144.37, almost like my mortgage. I called IGS immediately the customer service did not have answer where the mixed up was, promised me a supervisor will call because he has not seen a customer being sent such a high bill. It has been 2 weeks no call from IGS. I called Momemtum customer service they also has no answer for such a high bill or the 3-6months voucher they promised. I just want people to know how these people operate, they take your bank information and they are able to do whatever they want. Where is the savings they promised going solar will bring. I have filed a complaint from Chase Bank also to dispute this charge. I wanted to do the right thing for the environment, cut my energy bill like they promised but to pay $1,144.37 for my first bill is unbelievable and a shock to my core.

      I was conned into signing a contract with IGS energy and now my bills are higher than they've ever been before. When I called to cancel them I was told there's a $99 cancellation fee. I am a senior citizen and I can't afford to pay these higher prices for the next year. I talked to Columbia Gas and they said their rates are .82 per ccf and IGS energy is $1.09 per ccf. When I told IGS energy this, they said Columbia Gas is lying to me and said their rate is actually $1.03 per ccf. I said that's still cheaper than yours! They refuse to cancel without charging me the fee and I can't afford that either. I spoke to two different representatives and both were rude. I just want out of this contract or we'll just have to sit in the dark and freeze this winter because I can't afford to have the temperature in the house at a comfortable setting or have the lights and tv on. Please help!!

      Sorry you feel this way.  All contract information was sent to your email address on Jun 16, 2022. This email was opened.  The contract allowed 7 days to cancel without a fee.  If you where to cancel now you would need to pay the $99.00 termination fee per contract.

      Apparently in June a man came to my house and offered this solar energy I told him no and kicked him out. I called 2 days later to make sure I didn't sign up for anything. Apparently they do gas and electric. They told me everything was taken care of and everything was
      canceled. Well I get my July bill and it's 500 dollars compared to normally around 200 a month. I call igs and explain this should have never happened. I got the run around saying they'll look into it a week later I call again not hearing anything and I finally was told everything is canceled and in the mean time I get my August bill and it's another 400 dollars. I'm on a very fixed income and can hardly pay what I owe now. So I've had to spend time on the phone with penelec and get on a payment plan for that still won't resolve the issue that this should've never happened Iin the first place. Igs said best they can do is give me a measly check for 225 dollars. Leaving more of a balance left over. How does my bill average go from 200 a month to 500 a month when I live in a 2 bedroom trailer, and all they want to do is give me back 225 dollars. This place is a scam and prey on old people with disabilities.
