We were working w/ IGS. They set up a zoom call and we had a lot of questions because we knew nothing about solar. We were told nothing about federal tax rebates and Il solar incentives. We were told the solar panels would produce most of our energy and we would only receive a very small bill from ComEd. We were told we were not leasing these panels and we had the option to own these panels after 25 years or they would come replace them w new ones and the warranty starts all over. Over a month went by and we provided all the association paper work we needed and signed other documents to proceed. In the waiting quite a few people we knew told us about these tax incentives and rebates. We also were told to find out exactly how much energy we would be producing and were informed by other companies that solar panels degenerate which we were never informed of by IGS. My husband and I called **** who we’ve been in contact with regarding all our new concerns. First, let me say, **** will never give us a direct answer. She will talk and talk never responding to our questions. Once I asked her to please just say yes or no. Will we be qualified for the rebates? **** responded yes. She said she already told us yes. Will you give us the info on them, like other companies provide? She said no “just Google it.” I asked will we own these and she said yes. 10/25/22 I received a text asking if we were good to move forward Nov 1 for insall. I asked again about the rebates and asked how much energy we would be producing? I was told 68% and we were not receiving any rebates because IGS owns the panels. I immediately let her know no we were misinformed, deceived, and lied to. We will not own the panels. IGS will receive all federal rebates and the IL incentives. When I asked about the panels degenerating **** said “ I have no idea what your talking about” other companies tell you this. I told them I no longer want to go w then and now they’re threatening to take us to court.Customer Answer

A rep of this company signed me up for services without my consent. I asked this person repeatedly if he was switching my services and he replied no each time. The best part of this experience is that I have all of his fraudulent behavior on my Ring camera.Business Response

Reps came to my door. I was told:
1- My rates would be lower for both enery + supplier. Received the first bill and they are almost double.
2- I was not told I was getting into a 3 year contract
3- I was NOT told about early termination or cancellation fees.
I just insulated my home, only to be scammed and double my energy bill. Upon speaking with a supervisor in customer operations I was told there was nothing they can do. My family is working to escalate this issue and either get to the rates we were committed to, or cancel without paying fees. I am 85 years old and was scammed.Business Response

I had a young man come to my door and say he was with the The Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison that they were trying to get ahold of me and that the current program I am on is charging me more and if I wanted to I could stop this charge and that my bill will save me $70 a month by removing this charge and strickly stay with Illuminating Co. As it turns out this is not the case I realized it when I called the Illumination Co about why my bill was so Hi and the lady said that when I switched suppliers that it increased my bill that I was currently only paying .5% and now I am paying .11% when I ask her if they were the ones who sent this man to my home she said we do not send people out for these types of programs and we do not hire for this type of suppliers. That is when I realized I had been taken and fraudlently taken advantage of and mislead into believing that I was being over chatged by the Illumanating Co. Now this IGS Energy Supplier is charging me a $199 fee for cancellation which should not be charged and as I looked more into this it looks like they have been doing this for some time now. Plus while the man was here he was in totalled control of his laptop so I was not aware as to what he was doing which he said he had to put all the information into the system and that it was complete and I will not see anymore high bills. Turns out this is a home warrenty plus and high cost supplier charge extra expenses with not way out unless you pay. The form he filled in was not correct information and he did not represent himself as stated this is concider fraud and misrepresentation.Business Response

I had an IGS employee come knock on my door at my residence. He spoke about changing my energy supplier to a greener energy company, I assume. I did not care one way or the other about changing. I was disinterested. He did mention an early termination fee. I said no thank you then. I see no reason to change for greener energy, and I refused to chance any type of extra fees. He specifically told that would not be an issue. It would be taken care of. That was the only reason I agreed. IGS was not cheaper on gas or electric, why on earth would I change. Then my township switched supplier. I telephoned Duke energy and did go with the company my township selected. I then received a 99.00 termination fee. I called, and they said i signed the agreement on a hand held tablet. A tablet that I did not read, because I trusted the man who promised me this was not an issue. On May 5th 2022 a sales person from Momentum Solar came to our house we discussed solar panels at this meeting it was explained that I would need to give permission to allow Momentum Solar into our home for inspections of roof and electrical. I agreed to these and only these inspections, I did sign on a tablet which was used to put my name on a contract with Momentum Solar and IGS. I did not knowingly approve any contracts. Approximately on month later I receive a letter from Momentum Solar that I was in breach of contract. I contacted the N.J. BBB and Momentum Solar did agreed to close any projects and contracts with them at no penalty to me. I did ask them about IGS and I was advised by Momentum Solar to call IGS. I called IGS explained that any and all contracts with Momentum Solar are null and void. The representative I spoke with told me I would be no problem they would just need to confirm with Momentum Solar, I was given a 72 hour time frame after about 10 days I contacted IGS, I was told the Momentum Solar could not confirm. I called Momentum Solar and they would reach out to IGS and confirm cancellation. Later that weekI did receive a call from Momentum Solar stating that IGS management was contacted and informed of cancellation. Another week went by and no contact from IGS. I called IGS and i sent another email to IGS stating I did receive a notice form Momentum Solar Legal office stating all project and contracts were cancelled and that
I feel like this should be a simple thing since this all started with my signature being used with out my knowledge or constant for a contract of any kind. Momentum Solar has cancelled all projects and contract with me and I believe they have spoken to IGS to confirm I don't know why this is taking so long and why IGS has not reach out to me al all if they were having trouble confirming the Momentum Solar cancellations. It seem like IGS is not even trying to help at all. Its no wonder their rating with BBB is so poor.Business Response

customer their Power Purchase Agreement has been canceled. Their account is no
longer active in either system. An email has been sent from IGS Solar Support
to Mr. ***** confirming this cancellation on Friday, 10/21.

I was approached about 4 years ago from a door to door salesman about using IGS energy. We entertained his offer and while he was talking i quickly looked up the company and what they were trying to do. After about 10 minutes of this guy talking to us I asked him to leave my residence and that we would not be interested in his services anymore. Fast forward 4 years and everyone’s hurting on money due to the economy. So I’m crunching numbers and examining all of our expenses and I see that they have been charging us ever sense the salesman came to our door. I’m disgusted that they would follow through with out our permission. It shows shady salesman tactics and crooked business tactics. Now I will be starting the process to have them removed from being our supplier and see how this goes.Business Response

I canceled within the termination period due to the price of my electric bill doubling with IGS. We are being charged $200 plus an additional $260 this month for energy. Customer service was no help.Business Response

I just got my bill from DUKE Energy which was triple what I usually pay. I called Duke and found out that I had IGS as a supplier. I never realized that I had changed from Duke itself. I got a call in August apparently from IGS but I was under the impression that I was talking to a Duke representative and renewing a contract with Duke. They say that I have been with them 19 years and renewed several times. I did NOT talk to anyone about renewal. I called them to complain and they said to cancel the service would cost $400 - 200 for gas and 200 for electric. This is a scam. I don't know what I should do. I am definitely canceling. I am going to call the consumer agencies I can find to warn people.Business Response

shows our agent visited your home. All IGS agents wear clothing stating
IGS Energy.
IGS
would also show as a line item on your utility bills.
IGS
is not able to adjust the account. As a courtesy we can waive the $199.00
early termination fee for both accounts.

I signed up for IGS on 9/13/22 and was told I had 3 days to cancel without an early termination fee. I changed my mind and chose to cancel the next day and mailed in a cancellation letter on 9/14/22. I was well within the free cancellation window and yet today I was sent an early cancellation invoice for $199. I want this charge taken off immediatelyBusiness Response
