The **** that randomly show up are incredibly rude and have a hard time taking no for an answer. If by chance they do talk you into signing up, they neglect in telling you that you are stuck in a contract that will change rates to whatever they can get. Our bill doubled and we are being charged almost twice the rate of our local energy company. This company is not upfront and honest and the in the field representatives will badger homeowners and intimidate until you sign up. I found out today that we were out in contract for our gas as well. Please make sure you check into these companies. They do not have your best interests in mind

For context, I am young and without experience that many older folks have with companies like this. An *** *** used this to convince me to sign their supplier contract. I genuinely thought I was doing good because they market themselves as working in green energy. This was a mistake. They use contracts to lock you into paying supplier fees every month, and these add up. When their *** was signing me up, they insisted that they wanted me to be informed, but they conveniently skipped over huge portions of the contract and said it wasnt important. As a result, I was unaware that their cancellation fee is a couple hundred extra dollars that I didnt have, and it was way too late to do an early cancellation by the time I realized I wanted to back out. It was an expensive hassle to cancel, so I decided to wait out the contract, figuring some extra money towards utilities wouldnt be too bad if the supplier was working with renewables. I figured the contract would expire normally and they would fall off my bill. However, BECAUSE their *** had skipped over information with me, I was ALSO unaware that *** continues charging month-to-month if there isnt an explicit cancellation. When I realized they were still on my bill, it had been a few months, so I checked the email to see if I missed something. In renewal communications, there is NO INFORMATION about these charges! They only mention it in the long contract terms so it is easier to miss. In the meantime, the supplier charges got more expensive! When I called to cancel, I informed them of this lack of info. The *** on the phone insisted there were details in the email, while I had the email RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. You can imagine how frustrating this was. On the other end of this, I feel scammed and would not recommend this service. It adds an unnecessary middleman to your energy services and they justify everything with the classic, it was in the contract you signed, while not being upfront with those details.

We are selling our home and have been dealing with IGS Energy for over a month to get the paperwork for closing. They assure us the buyer has been approved and we will get the documents soon. So far 4 people there have been told the closing date but every call to them it is still incorrect! Were at risk of not meeting the closing deadline because of this company and possibly losing our buyer and the thousands of dollars weve paid to movers for specific dates when all we need is an email form sent to our closing attorney! Its impossible that this transaction is the first time that they have done this and beyond disappointing that they are incapable of doing so efficiently.

VERY SHADY - a representative from *** came to my door (its January, freezing outside) claiming they were from my city and the city had sent them to lower my bills. Never once identified herself as an *** representative during our entire conversation and told me I had missed letters from my utilities companies and the city about them saving me money. When I asked if she was switching my bills to another company, she said no. She also made it sound like Id be able to opt out of the contract at any time without repercussions, but I know thats not true because when I called to cancel (which I did immediately) I was told that I only had 7 days to cancel before I would be charged cancellation fees. Im hoping theyre at least honest in this sense because I literally cancelled (and followed up with my utilities companies) within 24 hours, so I better not be charged a fee. Im angry and also embarrassed because Im not usually duped by companies like this but theyre VERY thorough liars. Shameful that theyre allowed to lie and deceive about who they are and what theyre offering.

I had *** representatives knock on my door and tell me my address was flagged in their system and they were there to resolve an issue. I was working at the time and didn't have a lot of extra time to talk. They stated they needed a ************** Id, which could be found on my electric bill. My understanding was that these agents represented my electric utility company and were only there to resolve an issue with my account. I gave them the information they were asking for and I was presented signature fields to fill. My understanding was that these fields were an acknowledgement that the agents had visited me in person and were able to resolve the ******** no point was I presented with a contract to read. At no point was I told that my electric bill would change. At no point were energy rates discussed. At no point was it made clear by these solicitors that they did not represent my electric utility company.

The representatives are very pushy and do not take no for an answer until they coerce you into signing a contract without you realizing your signing an actual contract. They are very misleading. A few years back they called and showed up at my door after first stating I was busy. Then while I clearly stated I was busy at work and in the middle of a clinic the gentleman would not let up. He continued and continued. He stated he would send over an email for me to review. On the recorded line I clearly stated "you will send it over for me to review" he said yes. Well apparently when I opened the email I am now told that was me signing the contract. Yes he did state I had seven days to review but I thought that was 7 days to review and decide if I wanted to continue with their rate for gas and electric. He took advantage of me being busy and not able to be fully engaged in the conversation which I clearly informed him of in the beginning of the call. He was able to get me locked into a rate of $9.49 which is outrageous and for 3 years which I would have never agreed to for gas. I got out of the Electric contract which they charged me over $150.00 to cancel and now if I want out of this contract I will be charged another $150.00. I have spoke to members of an outlying community whom state the *** representatives have harassed older women in their neighborhood trying to sell these contracts. I had no clue I was actually signing a contract or what I actually am paying for gas due to I am too busy working and helping people not taking advantage of them.

I got scammed by them. I was being over charged from what I was previously paying. When I canceled, I was stuck paying $149.00 for both my gas and electric to cancel (each).

The guy who came to my door was very knowledgeable and walked me through my Columbia Gas bill to show how I could save if I switched to a fixed plan.

Rude solicitors. They try to get you signed up for something, not really telling you anything about what it is. They put pressure on you and try to make you feel you are missing out on something...some 'benefit' but you dont know what that is. Then I look them up on BBB and find they are scammers.
