      Door-to-door rep rung the bell at 5:45 pm. Reaked of pot smoke. Wanted to change my rate plan. I said I'm happy with what I currently have. He became upset with me for not wanting to switch the plan. I reasserted that I'm happy with what I have. He spun on his heels & walked away shaking his head in anger. No courtesy in his interactions even though he's ringing MY front doorbell. I don't want any more reps sent to my house.

      I was a loyal customer with IGS for years with my gas, electric & warranty. I always renewed my gas & electric at the same time. As soon as both expired & I chose a cheaper supplier they claimed I breached one of my contracts early & made me pay $99.00. I was going to always keep their warranty. However, their dishonesty, non loyalty, terrible customer service…run clear of this supplier!!! I will never recommend them to my friends & family! Furthermore, I will never conduct business with them again even if they are the lowest supplier. If they scammed me…think of how they are scamming the elderly! Xenia, Ohio

      IGS shows on 9/03/2021, a call was made to IGS and the gas rate was locked in for 36 months with an early termination fee of $99.00. This contract is still valid. This is why IGS is charging an early termination fee. If you email [email protected] we will be happy to send this call to you. The electric contract renewed to a month to month rate. A letter was sent to you on 8/7/2023 advising the electric would go month to month, this is why no early termination fee was charged. Thank you,

      Did not sign up but the salesman were very pushy. They came last week had to argue with him to get him off my property. Just came again today different guy not as bad as the last guy but still very persistent that I sign up.

      Due to an error between AEP and the city of Hilliard, I was charged a $199 cancellation fee by IGS. The woman I spoke to immediately was incredibly helpful, five stars, but the company still has not refunded me. I was first told 3-5 business days. Then 30 days based on billing. Then a manager said 5 days and she would call me back. The woman who has answered my calls the last few times is very dismissive, and straight up said to me "do you want me to transfer you to a manager to hear what I've told you over again". Wild. Then I emailed them, they gave me a generic response, and when I asked for a date for my refund, they ghosted me. So here I am making a BBB complaint because it has been 2 months with no refund.

      This company should not be in business. My bills have tripled and they presented their company as one that saves the customer money. Unbelievable how they are able to get away with this. They know they are scammers, otherwise they would not penalize customers $100 for leaving their company. If they stand behind their services, why do they need to penalize customers who leave? If they are so great, they wouldn't need to worry about charging penalties for customers who leave because in theory that would not happen very often. I am leaving them, and I'm not going to pay the $100 cancellation fee. They have gotten that $100 penalty many times over through their overpriced services. I am on a fixed income. Their business practices are despicable. I am going to do what I can to figure out how to put them out of business. I have never felt this strongly about a business, literally believing they should cease to exist because of how outrageously they screw their clients. This is beyond anything I have every seen. You need an option on this site to post a zero or negative number star rating. I am a very frugal utility consumer but my bills have been higher with IGS than they have ever been, and not just by a few dollars. My IGS bills are two to three times as much as my utility bills have been for the last 23 year, and I lived in a hot climate up until a year ago where I used air conditioning nine months out of the year and summer days were in the upper 90s and night time temperatures often didn't drop below 80. Put these people out of business.

      DO NOT fall for these thieves like I did! I am embarrassed and livid. They will send someone to your home as if you are already their customer. They will make it out like they are simply explaining your rates to you as standard procedure. You won't see the CONTRACT that they trick you into signing. Once you realize it's a giant scam, it will be too late to cancel without having to pay the "early termination fee," as they only give you 7 days to do so.
      These are your typical slimy, sneaky salesmen who distort truth to steal your money. STAY AWAY FROM IGS ENERGY!!!

      I had an IGS Energy representative come to my door and tell me I need to renew service to save money. I had a bad feeling I was going to be scammed, but I was essentially forced to call my electric company and talk to them about my supplier. The employee was in my face, touching my phone, and refused to take no for an answer. I was very uncomfortable and eventually had to ask her to leave. This has never happened to me before by a door to door salesperson and I hope it doesn’t ever again. Highly do not recommend this company.

      A door to door representative came to my door. I made it clear that I’m not interested in changing my electric to a third-party.
      He was so persistent as I explained that I don’t have time. I asked if he had any paperwork on this program so that my husband and I could look into it but we would be not make any decision at this time. He asked me to sign permission for him to email information on IGS to me I asked twice “I am not signing up for anything correct I am only signing for you to send me an email with information correct?” He responded yes, I am only going to send you an email. I had two family members present that were witness to this.
      Two days later, I receive a letter saying welcome to I GS. I was livid. I complained to PECO. They told me I had to take it up with IGS and request a dispute. They also told me there will be a cancellation fee. I contacted IGS, and they appear to justify this salesman‘s behavior. Perhaps I misunderstood or if that’s true, I’m so sorry that happened. They did say they would refund the $49 cancellation fee, and again appear to have no concern with the work ethic of the company’s representatives. I will be reaching out to The Federal Trade Commission as this type of fraud seems to be of minimal concern to the company.

      The man spoke to my husband at our house. I was not home. He called me. The man lied and said IGS was my service provider. I was scammed. I cancelled services in given time. Now I’m told I didn’t cancel in time and have to pay $200. This is all a horrible experience to go thru as a Senior Citizen The gas is in my name. I didn’t sign anything.

      the salesman came to my door when i wasnt home, he covinced my wife that we could save $, she signed something , only to find out my gas bill was $50 higher in jan, than usual, when i called to cancell they told me it was a 3 year contract, and i had to pay a $200 cancel fee, after speaking to a supervisor who wouldnt waive the fee i told them i want OUT, so its gonna cost me 2 more months plus 200
