1 starDO NOT ORDER FROM ***********.COM!!!They place a hold for the amount of my purchase on my debit card, then proceeded to charge me again for each item as it shipped. This was a large order, and they did not release the hold as they charged me so they effectively charged me double for my order. This caused my small business account to be overdrawn. When I called a supervisor and asked for resolution to this problem they said they could release the hold after 3 days instead of 7 and they were sorry. That's it. They blamed me (for using a debit card), they blamed the banks for their policies, and they did NOTHING. Like many below, I've had trouble in the past with them cancelling orders on me, but this is egregious and bad business. Don't do it, the overdraft fees alone will make any savings a loss. 1 starDo not order from Jo-Ann Fabric online. Their customer service is subpar. First, once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. However, they are allowed to cancel items on the customer. I placed an order for a Halloween event for 3 items. I ordered two of the exact same item and one of another. I placed the order on 10/5 in the early morning hours (Eastern Time Zone). On 10/12, they canceled one of the items that I ordered two of. Then, on 10/15, they canceled the second item that was the same. If anyone is keeping track, they have now canceled 2/3 of my order! I sent an email asking when my order was going to arrive. I got an automated response only. Now, I wait to see if the item arrives in time for the Halloween themed event which is before Halloween. Now, I have to figure out what I can do to substitute in to make the theme complete. Now, everyone else is sold out of the two items that I ordered from this company. I will be returning the item, if and when it shows up, to the store. I will drive the extra miles to go to a competitor and order from a competitor, before ever giving this place my business again.Review fromJess D

1 starOrder from Joanne online and order.a bunch of yarn that was just $1.60 each came out to $39.19 they took the money and put it on hold. well this morning I was charged for one of the yarns I already paid for and again this afternoon for a yarn I already paid and Joanne say they're going to charge me again for another $35 for yarn I already paid for and that what They do and the $39.19 will returned after the hold . .so my my $39.19 order turn in to a $78.38 order . And I don't have all that money in my account and there going to cause me to over withdraw because they double charged me for the orderReview fromLila J

1 starHorrible communication! If you are going to close for any reason you should put that online somewhere. Everyone is suffering from low employment rates but seriously I have been trying to go to the store for 3 days now to pick up an online order and we live an hour away each. I'm just disappointed in this customer service and its almost false advertisement with your slogan saying that y'all are all always here for our crafting needs! If you need employees maybe offer to transfer employees from other stores or if the reason you don't have employees maybe look at your management team? I wouldn't want to work for a company that treat their customers like this. To summarize the customer service is lacking and needs to be addressed.Review fromIridyan M

1 starI recently purchased an 8-foot animator skeleton model from Joanns for Halloween, but I regret my decision. Just two weeks after purchasing it, the animated voice started having defects. While I did quickly scan through the return policy before buying, I feel deceived by Joanns' misleading tactics. They prominently display a sentence stating that returns with a receipt will be refunded in the original method of payment, which led me to believe that regardless of how I paid, I would receive a refund accordingly. However, buried in the fine print, it states that orders placed using PayPal will be refunded with a physical gift card. When I asked for an exception, I was met with a cold and unsympathetic 'no.' It's disappointing to see that Joanns prioritizes questionable marketing techniques over customer satisfaction.To make matters worse, my refund was over $300, and since I rarely shop at Joanns, I'm uncertain about what to do with nearly $400 worth of store credit. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I strongly advise against supporting this unethical store. They seem to exploit customers who pay through PayPal by giving them store credit instead of refunding their original payment method, all in the name of preserving their profits. I demand proper compensation for the hassle and disappointment caused. I will never return to Joanns, and I cannot recommend this store to anyone.Review fromRenee S

1 starOn 8/30/2023 I placed an on line order for yarn at JoAnne fabrics on line. I paid thur paypal. Within less than a hour I received an order conformation, and noticed right away the billing address was correct, and where I live and the shipping address was wrong and 82 miles miles from where I currently live.I had contacted and changed my address at paypal, but apparently the old address where I lived last year was still in there. I immediately contacted Joanne customer service, told them the shipping address was wrong and needed to be changed. They said No, once you press order, it can not be modified.( when paying with paypal no addresses showed up for verification)I asked that they cancel the order so I could re order with the correct shipping address, so I could receive the merchadise they had paypal put a hold on my checking account. They said NO. Nothing could be changed, or cancelled I was out of money and merchandise.I contacted ****** , they said that was wrong, and they contacted Joannes requesting they change the address, or cancel the order so I could re order with the correct mailing address so I could get the merchandise. They never responded back to paypal. There customer service sent an email telling me I could contact the shipper, they didn't know who it would be yet, but I could wait until it shipped from their warehouse and cintact them after it was shipped to the wrong address and asked for a re route. Called Fex Ex they stated only the shipping company could call and ask for a re route. They knew this, and gave me the run around, anyway. And they refused to take this action themselves. The money cleared my checking account, and the merchandise was shipped to an undeliverable address. Paypal has opened a dispute and also an investigation into Joanne Fabrics,also Federal trade commission. Do not use or purchase from Joannes on line, for Christmas gifts like I did, you might find, they have your money and you have nothing. Unethical RetailerReview fromJANET I

1 starnever never never buy anything from Joann's. bought a rowenta iron, doesn't get hot and doesn't have steam. they didn't tell me either that they wouldn't take back anything with a cord. obviously they know those items are no good and won't work. how sorry is that??? have sent it back to rowenta twice, am waiting for it to come back a second time. still wasn't working. i want my money back, i had to go out and buy another iron while this one has been down. worse customer service. 1 starBEWARE, do not purchase any item from JoAnn fabrics with a cord...because it is non-returnable. Today, 8/21/23, I purchased a Unolamp at the Lebanon, PA Joann Fabric store...my receipt was stamped 3:27pm. I brought it home, unpackaged it & assembled it. When I plugged it in it would not turn on. After doing some trouble shooting...checking all the connections, trying different outlets, etc. I took it apart, put it back in the box and drove back to JoAnns. (The manufacurer's instructions say: "Faulty products should be returned to the place of purchase and proof of purchase must be provided." ) At approximately 5:40 the store manager told me she could not take the light back, exchange it, or refund it. The reason she gave was that the light has a cord and the box had been opened. I told her no one told me that the lamp was not returnable when I purchased it...because I would not have purchased it had that been the case. The manager gave me the phone number to Customer Service. I called the number while still in the store and after going through the third degree, giving my name, my phone, my email & texting a photo of the receipt to a person for whom English was not their first language and who I have to keep asking to repeat herself...told me I had to go directly to the manufacturer to take care of it. That is not what the JoAnn receipt says & the package insert says to return the lamp to the place of purchase. “Returns with a Smile”...what a joke.Review fromGinny N

1 starJo-Anns has terrible customer service. I ordered 25 yards of fabric due to their requirement that you order fabric in 5 yard quantities. It was actually several more yards than I even needed. They then sent the 25 yards of fabric in 5 different cut lengths of different sizes. I am now unable to even use the fabric because the lengths are not long enough for what I needed. I called and emailed their customer service and they will do nothing to help me. They will not return the fabric, they will not make it right by sending me more, they will not even guarantee that a new order would have the fabric in one continuous piece. I am so unbelievably fed up with this company. I am a designer who buys fabric often and I will no longer be sourcing anything from them. They have lost a lifelong customer.Review fromlinda n

1 starI ordered 3 items on line that I would pick up in the store the next morning. After the order was placed I noticed that one of my item, a $3 spool of thread was change to ship. I went back and saw the item was now low in stock and couldn't be purchased online anymore. I tried to cancel the order through customers service but they told me they do not cancel order that I would have to return it to the store. Fair enough until I saw they were charging me $11.95 to ship it. I looked up the return policy only to find out I would not get that refunded. In the morning I went to the store only to be told they can't cancel the order either and I'd need to talk to corporate about the $11.95 shipping refund. I contacted customer service again (******) but got the same answer. So now they said they shipped it on June 16th (for $11.95 I hope its priority) Nope, its now the 24th and tracking says its delayed.I never shopped there much because of the rudeness, but I'm done shopping there forever now.
