We purchased a water conditioner Mid Feb and it was installed at the end of Feb. 2025. After it was installed, we learned that the system would flush out the water every 3 days. The salesman never told us this.
This flushing caused a problem with our sump pump and we were concerned about the waste of water since we are on a well. We had some dry conditions last year and didn’t feel this was good for us.
I called Leaf Home Solutions on April 9thth and ask for them to send someone out to turn off/disconnect the system from the well. The appointment was scheduled Wed, April 16th for between 12-4. No one showed. No one called from Leaf Home. My husband called the Service Depart. Sometime that evening, a manager in Indiana called and proceeded to argue with my husband. After about a 20 minute call, the manager told my husband what valves to turn to shut off the system and pull the electricity to the unit.
On Friday, April 18th, one of the PVC pipes on the system burst and water was flooding our basement, soaking the carpet, etc. My husband turned off the water to the house and call the service # for Leaf Home and asked that someone come out to fix it. He was told he needed to call a plumber. H B Home came and found that one of the joined PVC pipes had NOT been glued. It was repaired by * * **** as an emergency call and we paid $612.00 for that. My husband got 2 of the manager’s phone #’s from Service at Leaf Home and called both. One of those manager’s came, Sat, 4-19 late when he was supposed to be at our home by 11am and arrived at 11:38 am. We gave him the invoice and photos that * * **** took. He told us we would get a call from Leaf Home’s Restoration dept. in a few days. As of Fri, 4-25, we are still waiting for a call and I had emailed the one Regional manager of Leaf Home several times and he still has not gotten back to me.Business Response

Leaf sold me a water treatment system on 06-27-2024 with the promise that it would deliver clear, odor-free, iron-free soft water. The system was installed the following day. I began to get a rotten egg smell in the water and it didn't seem as soft as it should. The system also had some leaks. I contacted Leaf about those and other issues detailed in the attached document.
Leaf came and confirmed the issues. they repaired the leak, and found that it was not properly installed nor properly programmed. The technician adjusted the programming and promised that they would replace equipment or add equipment if needed to correct the problems.
The problems got worse . Leaf came again tested their system and found that it was still not properly installed nor properly programmed and it was only removing half of the hardness and iron.
The issues got even worse and when they came again the system wasn't removing any of the hardness or iron. Leaf said they would advise me what they were going to to do. When they hadn't contacted me in a week I asked them to remove their equipment and refund my money. **** from Leaf called back to say they were going to replace part of the system. I said I just wanted to replace their system and a refund. Leaf they would not issue a refund if I didn't let them try to fix the issue. I asked them if they would issue the refund if their replacement didn't work and he said they would.
The replacement equipment wasn't properly. Leaf came and after correcting the installation issues and said that the system was now working properly although I showed him that the water still had the rotten egg smell and sediment.
**** told me that I had to clean and flush my water heater and replace the anode rod to make it compatible with Leaf's system. My water heater manufacturer said changing to the anode rod would void my warranty.
I asked Leaf to give me the refund and they now say that they need to do more tests that should have been done months ago.Business Response

Our last test determined customer had a new issue with their hot water tank having bacteria from the well. This was not caused nor exacerbated by the system. Customer has refused all new tests and services. At this time, we have determined customer request for refund/removal is premature and unwarranted. I paid $7,688 for a water softener system on 2/03/24 that failed 6 times in one year due to the media getting into the plumbing and stopping it up. Each time, we would loose water pressure and had to bypass it causing all our appliances to suffer hard water calcium damage until a service man could come clear it. After the third failure, they replaced both tanks witch failed twice after that with same issues. After the fifth time, they cleared the system but I told them I had lost confidence in this product and wanted it removed and reimbursed. They did not respond. The system failed the 6th time and I had a local company come remove it and install a different one. Since then, I have made 6 calls to ************ asking for removal and reimbursement, promised I would receive a call from a supervisor, but never got one. The new system I bought locally has worked perfectly and I can even tell it is actually working and my appliances are clearing up. Leaf Home Water Solutions continues to ignore my calls and request. 4/5/2025 met with **** ***** in our home and water tested. Signed papers but was subject to LeafFilter providing a plumber to look at lines for install. Provided my Wells Fargo account number and a pending charge placed $4787 and $518 deposit on debit card. I contacted **** on 4/8 for plumber apptmt info. Plumber came 4/9. Very invasive water line work. I Cancelled order. Agreement was 3 business days. I emailed and texted **** to advise. He had his sales manager call me. After much discussion I advised that service is cancelled and he hung up on me. I texted **** again 4/21/25 advised that the charge still shows pending. I called Wells Fargo was advised that they can escalate by their contact to Leaf Home Water. To call back in ten days if not rectified. No contact from Leaf salesman. Recvd a call from “*****” at Leaf today, 4/23 1030am. He said the pending with merchant can take 60-90days to “drop off” due to cancelled sale. I advised that WF said requires Leaf to cancel the pending request. Then he said he put through the request with Leaf this morning and it should be removed. He then asked why my statement said he hung up on me when I cancelled, well, that is because he did. His covers at ion then became a rant of “I hope you can sleep better at night” over and over. I interjected that if he placed the removal of the pending charge, that is all I asked for. I thanked him and hung up. Not here for verbal abuse simply want the charge removed as WF said was required of the merchant. I will continue to check the account for the pending charge removal.Business Response

On Jan 3rd 2025 I signed up for and ordered the Leaf water filter solution which was installed approxamately one week later. On Feb 3rd my water stopped working and I notified Leaf there was a problem. On Feb 5th I called my well installer who is licensed by **** (my well is 3 years old) and he informed me the water filter was installed incorrectly and burned up my well. Since Feb 6th I have called leaf Water Solutions approxamately 14 times and each time I am told someone will call me back within 24 hours. I was finally able to speak with a supervisor ****** ******* and told him I wanted my equipment picked up and reimbursed for what I paid for it. He said he would need 2 weeks to process. I did not ask them to pay for my well repair. It has been another month and I am still being told someone will call me back within 24 hours and no one has or will. I called for 2 months with no response from Leaf Water Systems. The **** licensed water professional disconnected 2 pipes that were installed incorrectly in order to restore water to my home. The system is still in the same installed location. I could not go 2 months without water.Business Response

I have had the system for close to 8 years. When it was sold to me, the company said it would recharge the system after 7 years if need be.
The system is no longer effective as I see water stains everywhere there is a water outlet.
When I called the local office in Jacksonville, they said that management had changed and they would no longer honor what was said 8 years ago!
My problem is consistent with the lack of after-sales support that over 359 customers have complained about.Business Response

4/2024 we had a water filtration system installed in our home by Leaf Home Water Solutions. At installation the tech stated it could take 48hrs to start seeing results, the results of clean water never happened. April to July 2024, we had multiple service technicians come out. Were told that testing would be conducted, and then later informed that we had a "one-off" issue. then told that the company would proceed with removing the equipment and canceling the contract.
After that communication in July 2024, we received no further outreach from Leaf Home Water Solutions. The only contact we had was with their 3rd party financing company, who we repeatedly explained that our issue was unresolved, no permanent solution had been provided, and that the work was incomplete. We explicitly told them that the financing should not be processed due to the ongoing issues.
Despite multiple calls to the financing company and attempts to contact Leaf Home Water Solutions we did not receive any follow-up or assistance. April 2025, the financing was finally released, but still no resolution or further communication from Leaf Home Water Solutions.
only communication we have had has been with their service department, who claim they can only escalate our concerns to management via email. Each time, we are promised a callback within 48 hours—which never occurs. The only individual who has spoken with us was a manager named *****. & we were informed that ***** is no longer employed by the company.
Despite repeated requests, we have never been contacted by any upper-management or by anyone at the Raleigh office. We have specifically asked to speak with a manager named Tracy & never given the opportunity. Every call to the service department results in vague promises, forwarded emails, & no action.
We have now been dealing with this issue for over a year, with no resolution, no communication, and no follow-through.Business Response

I’ve had 7-8 visit from tech trying to fix the bad water coming from the system. The problems are foul smell from water, metallic taste, there claim that my fixtures would not stain is a joke. Water is not consistent, it’s slimy, then it clears up then it returns to slimy.I’ve been told that I have turn on my city water to mix with there filtered water. I paid for a good filtration system, not tho keep going back to city water. They don’t have a solution for my problem, just call for a tech visit.

Problem:
Had this system installed Oct/24. System does not work, they have sent out tech 8 times they have taken water samples, an they said the company will contact me. The only thing they have provided is another tech visit and no solution. If they come to your door send them packing. Im on city water and they have made it worse, water has a foul odor, leave your sink with oil feeling. The back wash from there sys. Will kill your grass. They dont have a solution for my problem and have made no attempt !!!!

September 21st I had their water filter system installed,I was told that my water would be crystal clear, well its not ,I cant wash whites clothes because they turn orange. I had to throw out a lot of my husbands white clothes, Ive had this system not even six months, my new hot water tank has iron in it now which they told me during one of the service calls I requested that it should be serviced its brand new, they test the water from their tank not fron facet and tells me its working good,but the water is going through that system. To my facets. I had Home leaf water solutions in my home to supply and install a home water filter. Through the sales process the salesmans (****** *********) tested my water and explained the levels, hardness of the water and how they could affect the family especially with an infant in the house. After the disastrous installation process in which the installer ( ****** *****) damaged my fittings and blew carbon through my entire house clogging everything leaving us with no water for days with an infant in the house. I had to have a plumber come out and remove and carefully clean out all the fittings. Leaf home reimbursed me for that which is not my complaint. I am just providing back round.On 10/16/24 Leaf home sent out the ********** install manager to go through the entire installation, He documented everything with pics. My complaint comes with when he began testing of the water during his investigation. He confirmed that the levels of containments were barely reduced if at all after the water filter installation. I have a copy of his assessment and pictures of the test materials if need be. So the sales man (***) who swore to my wife and I that the filter is the best for the health of the family lied or mislead us to make a sale, and scam **** have reached out to Leaf home many times to rectify this issue. I have Filed complaints with both Leaf home as well as Service finance company who holds the funding. Service finance has also reached top Leaf home on my behalf trying resolve this issue. I have tried to communicate to leaf home filter that i was sold and scammed on a dream of clean water, and family safety, I would like Leaf Home to remove this filter and cancel the contact. I feel paying $4000 for the same exact water i had prior is robbery. When i spoke to the head of the ******* office, He blew me off and were not in the business of losing money.They sold me something that doesnt work. I had a Leaf home water filter system installed in my home. After a disaster our installation where the installer made a mess and left my home without water with a newborn in the house. He blew carbon throughout all the fixtures rendering them clogged and useless. After a plumber was contracted to come and clean everything out carefully because the kid they sent it to install the system did not have the understanding of how to remedy the situation correctly. They sent someone out to test the raw water vs the treated water the results were TDS 106 raw vs 104 treated. Other tests include alkaline, hardness, copper all moving 0.2 in total. While the T Iron increased 1200% from raw water vs treated water. Now i have spoken to *** ******** briefly and no my calls do not get answered. I have reached out to Service finance multiple times to ask to pause the funding til this mess is settled to no avail.

At the time of sale, customer contracted and received a carbon filter as he had high levels of chlorine. Customer's carbon filter is working. As water fluctuates due to many factors, we understand new issues are frustrating. Customer's current issue is high levels of iron, which is not caused nor exacerbated by the carbon filter purchased. We have offered many options to customer for customer satisfaction to resolve or improve his current concerns; however, customer has rejected all offers and services. I think there is some incorrect information that id like to clear up. There have been no offers made. The only thing that’s been mentioned is a nozzle change out which I’d have to pay for at cost, for the parts and that was made two days ago, this past Wednesday, April 7, 2025
if you’re stating that the chlorine was different in the beginning test the chlorine on the raw and treated water is exactly the same. Both Fcl, & TCL I have two different sets of testing One from October 16 2025 where the chlorine dropped 0.01 clearly the filter is not doing what was promised.

The same. I also have your reps report from 9/18/25 stating the chlorine numbers. The numbers fluctuate we now know that. The tds testing as well as these other test results clearly show the filter is not doin what we got it for.
The salesman sold me a filter telling me I needed it, “it’s best for the baby” and it is clear and apparent that I do not and it was used as as sale tactic. I am trying to meet you in the middle, it’s extremely difficult when all attempts to contact anyone in your company have been ignored for close to 6 months, the regional managers, service managers or anyone at all. All contacts made by me have been ignored.
I even had to reach out to service finance multiple times to get in touch with someone from Leaf home. It’s only until I went to the Better Business Bureau that someone even responded or I got a phone call from somebody from the company..
This has been going on for nearly 6 months it took a Better Business Bureau complaint to get a phone call back.
I would like the system removed as I believe it is a danger to my family and our well-being . I like to work out a deal to have the filter removed have my home put back its original state. That’s what I would like to speak about. Let’s work towards a plan where we can amicably part ways. I look forward to working towards a resolution.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Your salesman told me that this filter would remove contaminants from my dangerously high water supply.
It’s clear the filter does not do that.
Considering the information from your tests. It removes 0.01 of the particular contaminants. Iron, chlorine etc. To name two,
the filter I was sold does not do what’s it’s promised. It’s a scam.
Now if you told me it will remove 0.01 % of sale contaminates.
I wouldn’t have went ahead. No one would buy it let’s be honest.
if you won’t come to a reasonable agreement then my attorney has already filed with the General Attorneys office as well as ******* ****** Department of Labor, Licensing & Consumer Affairs.
I will see what that route brings since you are unwilling to communicate.
