Company promises removal of old system, this has not occurred despite two calls (to sales rep and to CS rep.)

Also ( and primary issue) is that the installation does not seem to be working: air in the water looks like skim milk, tastes poor and leaves lime stains in toilets.

My first call to CS resulted in “They all do that.” Two subsequent calls resulted in promises to call back which were never fulfilled.

The lack of service after the sale, and the poor performance of the equipment, indicates this company is a scam.

I received an email about the system so I called salesman *** came says how great entire system was. Installer came on 2-20-25 I believe. I asked about the infrared light. He called his boss saying the boss forgot to put it in the truck & another was bringing it from Vegas. The system was installed + the installer said it would take about a week to clear the old water system. The water was immediately very very soapy & slimy on your body & the floor of the shower was very slippery. I waited till Monday the 24th to call the installer. I also told him about the reverse osmosis system wasn't drinkable & caused my humidifier to put a smoke line haze into the house. The installer left to Home Depot for something. He installed was supposed to call back which he didn't. I called again on the 25th & he said he would check on the 26th I called the 888 number. A young questioned if I had ever used a softening system saying she would talk me through. Resetting the system I refused & called another young female asking to talk to a supervisor. They wouldn't connect me to anyone I recalled the installer on the 27th & he had me reset the system in the garage but the kitchen system remained on March 6th I called again asking for a supervisor from the 888 number on the 7th someone named Neil said he was the installers supervisor & would have the installer come out on 3/10 or 11th check the system out. I have asked repeatedly to talk to someone in charge with no luck. The salesman doesn't call back. We never had water spots on the ice & cold water at the refer that we do now. The reverse osmosis tastes on both sides of the water.

The biggest problem is have is the system isn't as good as was promised.  When I called to complain I was refused to talk with a supervisor  and no call backs were made.  Even the salesman didn't call back.  The service guy is supposed to come on Monday to adjust things but I question if he really will come.

They advertised a free water test and free cost estimate. I was verbally told by the technician there was no purchase obligation. I decided not to purchase the $4000 water treatment device. They want a $1000 "Restocking Fee" (25%) There was no written "Restocking Fee" clause. The only thing I signed was for permission to do a credit check.

We have signed an agreement with Leaf Home Solutions to install a water conditioning system with total price: $7000. We have paid $700 down payment. The installation took place on February 17th. The process was botched from the start due to the family issues technician was dealing with on the phone during installation process. He stopped working on it after a few hours and quit working due to family emergency. He came back when it was dark already around 9 pm and resumed the installation process working in total darkness. I saw him crawling in the dirt and looking for the part he dropped on the ground around the filters. Despite his earlier rude warning he gave us to stay far away from him while he is working, I made another attempt to help him and brought high power flashlight so he can see what he is doing and find the component he lost. He was done with the job around 10:30 PM. He still had this nasty attitude toward us, It was late, dark and bugs were relentless, so we decided to inspect the job early in morning, next day. It was apparent at this point that this worker is suffering from some psychological issues that make professional communication impossible. Therefore, he made impossible to stop the installation of components which emit carcinogenic chemistry in to our water system causing cancer of the liver, brain, lungs, and blood, hormonal disruption ( PVC can disrupt the endocrine system, which can lead to reproductive impairment and birth defects), damage the brain or its function, neurotoxicity, immune system suppression, respiratory irritation and much more. We have not given the installer permission to use any toxic material and therefore asked the management of Leaf Home Water Solution to replace carcinogenic pipes with copper pipes. It has been three weeks since this disaster started, and they did not make any attempt to address the issue and therefore comply with our demands of replacing carcinogenic components with copper made.

The system installed does not cover everything the sales person said it would. I've been in contact since September of 2024 trying to get this system removed and a refund. Headquarters just keeps dragging their feet. The system was supposed to take care of the rust, hard water, clean the lines and provide sparkling clear water. The only thing it does is remove the lead/rust but that process puts air in the lines and it phisstts at you. It does not take care of the hard water issue at all. There are floaters of white junk in the water, everything the water comes into contact with is stained or clogged and now there is a bacteria in the water that is unhealthy and has turned my commode tank black inside and smells of mold. The bacteria also gives off a strong odor of sulfur that smells like poop. ***** is the manager in our local office and he's trying his hardest to get the situation resolved but headquarters is not cooperating. We've sent dozens of pictures and documentation to no avail. BTW, that salesman is no longer with the company. This system needs to be removed and refunded so I can get the proper treatment system in asap. This company doesn't seem to care about any of these issues promised by their sales person.

A resolution has been offered and we are waiting for the customer's response. We have also advised the customer that they need to have their well shocked.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/24/2025

I am rejecting this response because: Leaf's resolution is to pull out one of three cylinders already paid for (with no refund of original cost) and charge me $725 (their cost of the unit) to install a softening unit. I've already stated to them I was not willing to spend more money on a system that was misrepresented by the salesman and has caused so much angst. The salesman should have pointed out that the "conditioner" that was installed would not take care of the hard water problem. I feel we were taken advantage of by that salesman. If you need to use the commode while it's regenerating, there's horrible noises and the water line in the tank actually is forced out of the pipe that it fits into. The system also allowed a bacteria to get through from the well and now the commode tank is a black slimy mess that won't clean out. The system is also not cleaning the water lines as stated. The water hardness leaves white floaters of calcium in the glasses, leaves hard to remove stains on everything and even keeps the commode from shutting off. I'm just done with this mess.

This system has also spewed out brown water, I'm concerned it may run my well dry too. What is it doing to my hot water tank and boiler system lines. The companies main concern is that it took so long to report these problems. I wish I had been able to get at it sooner. I had been diagnosed with cancer for the second time 5 months after the installation and spent the next year in test, procedures, operations and treatment. I did contact them when the foggy confusion of treatment abated. I simply do not understand why they can't pull this system out and refund me. It was terribly expensive to begin with and  now they want more money to try to make it work. I doubt it will resolve the other issues besides the hard water. I'm beside myself with anxiety and depression over this and just want it to be over with. I still have to pay to have the well chlorinated, the proper system  would not have allowed that bacteria through and there is no guarantee that their softener will prevent future contamination from entering the lines. This information  is from the local well company that knows the areas water and how to deal with it. Shame I didn't use them instead. There are many pictures available to see what this system has done to the commode, glasses, and sinks. Sometimes CLR and a brillo pad won't even clean off the crud. Most seniors with multiple medical malfunctions wouldn't be able to keep up with the extra scrubbing required.  I'm wondering if a relative of theirs would be treated this way.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/27/2025

Leaf home water solutions called today to say this is the only offer they are willing to make and that the cost is reasonable. The also stated that I signed a contract that states I was ok with the the hard water situation. I've read that contract with a magnifying glass and nowhere does it say any such thing. Their sales rep never addressed the hard water. I guess it's ok for salespeople to lie and misrepresent a product. taking advantage of the elderly in their eyes. I really wish there was something someone could do to keep these things from happening.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/01/2025

The discoloration that the customer is experiencing is
due to bacteria in their well and is unrelated to the system installed by Leaf
Home Water Solutions. The customer has been advised to shock their well to
      address the bacteria concerns.

As stated in Section E of the customer’s signed contract,
well conditions may change over time, and additional equipment may be required.
While we have discussed potential solutions with the customer, they have chosen
not to move forward with additional equipment at this time.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/01/2025

I am rejecting this response because: Once again they have side stepped the real issue. I am not complaining about the discoloration from the bacteria in the well water. The main issue is the cost of a system that does not perform as the salesman  said it would. He did water tests and knew how bad the hardness was. Why didn't he address that with us? The other discoloration that is an issue is the stains on everything and clogs of spigots and spay nozzles that require tons of CLR and brillo pad scrubbing from the very hard water.  Every sink has hard water marks that are not easy to get off and it doesn't come off plastic fixtures at all. All my glass wear and metal go cups are ruined. And now they want me to spend $725 more for their conditioner.  That would involve removing one  of 3 cylinders with no refund on it. Then there's the 2nd cylinder that would be of no use to me as it takes out the rust which can be done with Morton Red Out salt, so that's 2 cylinders that are not needed. That rust removal cylinder puts air in the lines to remove the rust, I don't like the fact that air is hissing and thumping through the lines. This whole system is useless for this property.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/09/2025

The discoloration that the customer is experiencing is a result of
bacteria in their well and is unrelated to the system installed by LHWS. The
customer has been instructed to shock their well to address the concerns with
the bacteria. I’ve spoken with the customer, and they have continued to decline
the addition of the softener system. Per section E of the customer’s signed
contract, well conditions may change and additional equipment may be needed. We
have offered the customer a softener at cost, and they have continued to deny
      this offer.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/13/2025

The latest offer is take out the right cylinder and installing a water softener @ $400. They're sure I still need the middle cylinder for lead/rust removal. That tells me they don't think their softener will do the job removing rust. As seen in the pictures I've sent, their softener will not fit in the space. I'll need to put in a shelf in the back to put the salt bags in to funnel it into a softener. I'll have to get someone to put it on the shelf for me as they are too heavy for me to lift. There just isn't room. I'm sorely aggravated with Leaf. They're still stuck on the discoloration. It looks like I'll have to eat $5123.00 to rid my self of this unacceptable system.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/13/2025

I am rejecting this response because:
They're still going on about the discoloration, as I've stated, it's not the main issue. It's a rediculous response as usual. Their latest offer is to remove only one cylinder and install their softener. There isn't room to install it.

Entered by BBB staff LO Consumer purchased a Leaf water system for their well. It was not working properly, and the business has made several trips out but they have been unable to clean the water. The last person that came out put in for a refund and a pickup but the consumer never heard back. He contacted them after 3 weeks and was told the request was denied. The consumer had another business come out and they moved the tanks into the consumers garage but the business has not come to pick them up. The consumer now uses city water. The consumer called the business again a few days ago and was told they could come out and reinstall the system. The consumer told them he no longer needed their system and was told someone out of ****** would be handling any complaints the he had but no one has contacted him.

Consumer stated one of the district managers called and they did not get anything resolved. He ended up saying you're not getting a refund. They kind of play musical representatives, there's one out of *******, one out of ******, one out of *********. We did not get one thing resolved because what the system was designed to do was to up our well water. Well, it never did. And then one guy from ******* came in and changed all the parts in it and then he said, well, I'm gonna put in for a refund and a pickup. That never happened. And then I was waiting on a refund and three weeks later I called them and this other guy called me back and said the escalation department refused it. He said the readings were within tolerance and there was never any readings taken other than out of my reverse osmosis system I put in so we could have drinking water, and we did not get anything resolved at all.

Consumer stated the business has not resolved the issue. They ended up getting reimbursed from Culligan  who also sent information to the business and the business never responded. They now use rural **** water and had to pay $800 or so dollars to get the service started. A guy from the business wanted to come out and install the system on the city water. This was not the agreement. The business was contracted to fix the well water and the system never worked. The consumer is requesting a refund and pickup as agreed upon.

I was just contacted this morning about this schedule.  He is supposed to send me the cost for the annual maintenance and I haven't seen that yet. I also asked why it takes a complaint to BBB before a response is heard.  His response was that he was not from the area ( I am in *******) and that he was just  scheduling. Please keep this open and we will see how long it takes to get a cost for the annual maintenance

They are scheduled to come out tomorrow to handle the maintenance issue. However, I am still concerned that it takes a call to the BBB bureau to have this resolved. As mentioned previously, a call to the customer

service number in Tampa gets no response after several calls and to look online and see that they have a triple A rating nis ridiculous. Will respond about the service call after it is completed..

I called LeafWater Solutiions three times int he last three weeks due to the salt/water level in the tank being off. I was told the service person from ******* would be out two weeks ago today. No one showed up or called. I called the company and was told there was a work order and that the local (********) manager would call me. That did not happen either.

I want LeafWater to either come out on 2-17 or 2-18 and address the issue or else come out within the next 2 weeks and take out the system. This is a constant issue in the reviews of this company and it apparently has gotten no better.
