Cintas came to my store ****** ***** at **** * ******* **** ******* ** ***** about putting floor mats in our store for cushioning and an outside mat. We verbally agreed and someone came back later and delivered the floor mats. I was billed monthly starting in Feb at $86.76, by the end of the year it was $93.71. In Nov. I sent them written notice we were retiring and would no longer need services after year end. A short time later, I believe it was Cody who called asking if there was a problem and what could they do different. I assured him the service was fine but we were retiring and no longer have the store. On Dec 20, 2022 I spoke with John G**. I told him Dec would be my last payment and they needed to pick up the mats by year end again because we were leaving. He agreed to pick up all of their mats on 12/27/2022. They never showed up. They continued to bill me and after calling every day for 2 weeks, Mr. G** called me back. He told me I signed a 3 year contract. I was never aware of signing any contract nor did I have a copy of same. He refused to pick up anything until the amount for 3 years was paid. He sent me a so called copy of the contract which was something signed on an I-pad similar to UPS, Fed-ex and the USPS. As I told him, we were planning to retire before they even started service. There is no way I would have knowingly signed up for 3 years when I knew we were leaving at year end. I have put the mats in storage for protection but don't know what else to do. I had told him I was not going to pay for any further service. They do nothing but bill me. Don't know how to resolve this.

While the business did agree that the supposed contract was not really a legal contract he did not state that he would stop billing me.  He only asked if he could contact the new owner to possibly accept some services.  I am still in limbo if he is forgoing any future billings or not as that was never addressed.

I have been a customer of Cintas for years. When a representative showed up and asked to perform an inspection, I agreed to the inspection. However, I asked that the representative provide a written quote before I incurred ANY costs. She walked through the space for about 15 minutes. She then tried to verbally tell me what needed to be done. I told her again that I wanted a written quote of what services were needed before I incurred any costs. She said she would need to check with her supervisor and then would send a quote. A few days later I received an invoice stating that I owed the company $815.45. I have called several times trying to resolve this matter. At first, the company claims that in the 15 minutes the representative was here she performed work without my authorization. When pressured, they produced a signature of authorization that was not mine and did not even resemble my signature. I stated this and the agent on the phone, ******* agreed that the signature did not look like mine and he would call me back. When he called me back the story changed to the agent did not really perform any work except for changing out a fire extinguisher, which I did not authorize her to do, and the $815.45 was for the "inspection". I did not follow the agent while she inspected but I did state to her to provide a written quote before performing ANY work or before I incurred any costs. In the past the inspection was free. I definitely would not have agreed to allow her to inspect if they had disclosed to me that their 15 minute inspection would cost almost a thousand dollars!

Cintas is an extremely deceptive business! I signed with them for some that after 2 months they stopped sending. They told me some baloney about their driver not wanting to come or quitting. I have no idea. Because of this, I cancelled my subscription (so I thought!) And now receive my products from a different company altogether. Lo and behold, every single month they charge my credit card and every single month I dispute the transaction with my credit card company. I have sent them multiple emails and deleted my account with them online. They don't respond to my disputes and continue to charge me every single month for NOTHING! NO SERVICE, LITERALLY NOTHING! Every few months they charge me an arbitrarily higher amount. It's been maybe 7 months and they never fail to charge my credit card. It blows my mind how such a large company is still in business! I just want them to remove my card and to leave me alone!

      - Seeking to terminate service agreement
      - Terms of early termination are not satisfactory
      - Cintas is seeking 50% average invoiced volume over 182 remaining contract weeks
      - Renewal terms signed in 2021 were for the following 60 months
      - When an attempt was made to alter the weekly volume, the answer was no until we made the request to terminate
      - New company's terms are such that we can change order volumes week to week, which Cintas refused to accommodate until we made it clear we wished to terminate
      - In the rental agreement, it is stated that the weekly rental charge for any item can be terminated, provided we return the product. That was not maintained in the early termination agreement issued by Cintas

Deceiving business practices. I hired them to provide chemical and towel service for my businesses. Chemicals were to be charged based off of units used. My managers were concerned that we were being over charged since most the time we were being billed for things that we were not using or they did not have in stock, yet we were still being billed for it. So I finally waited for the tech to show up to see them in action. Our chemicals were about 90% full and and paper towel dispensers were empty, yet he showed up with a weekly bill for $200. I asked him please break this bill down for me, he said I was getting billed for 25 units of chemicals, I asked if we used 25 units and he said no, maybe 2 at most. I said so why am I billing billed for 25 units, he was lost for words. I asked where are the paper towels, he said they are out of stock at the moment. I said then why are you billing me weekly for paper towels? He said they will credit me. So I refused the order. The next week, they showed up again, this time we have been closed for almost a week with no activity. $200 invoice for chemicals and paper towels. Again we did not have any change in chemicals usage due to us being closed but yet they billed me again. I refused to let them in. This has been going on for about 2 years now. Very deceptive and unethical business practices. Criminal. I have demanded to cancel service on numerous occasions, yet they continue to show up and make it a very confusing cancellation process, forwarding us from one department to another, while they continue to invoice us on average of 5x our usage rate per location. Beware of this company, I am looking to take legal action against this company.

Produce was in a contract with Cintas for apparel rental for the last 5 year which ended 7/12/2022. Months passed and no representative comes by to see if we would like sign a new contract, Del Rancho is informed that its forced in to a new 5 year contract due to a grace period had passed an can’t opt out. The only way to opt out is to pay a high part of the contract. The amount has been sent to a collection agency. Don’t believe it’s a good practice on behalf of Cintas to forces companies into these contracts.

I am ******, I am the Facilities Director at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in ********** TX. Currently/supposedly we are in process of getting new fire panel. David M the salesman. Everything he assured us wouldnt happen has. It is very obvious he blew smoke to get this going before xmas last year probably for the commision.
said he would be available thru holidays as we were trying to get this installed over xmas break while kids were out of school and he knew this. THIS was one of our main concerns when he came in and he said 'it shouldnt be a problem' but instead he immediately went on vacation and handed me off to a project manager named Frank L who was ALSO on vacation and i have not heard from this guy since November when i told him i couldnt get a hold of ***** for info. ***** took my fire drawings that i needed and took forever to get them back to me. unprofessional. Christmas break came and went and we heard nothing from him or anyone. I reached out last week and now Im being told jun/july of this year to get parts. agreed to this last October i believe. Always in dark about what is goin on, do not feel good about doing business with *****. Or Cintas for that matter and we use Cintas for our fire inspections too. No updates about anything unless I reach out. Updates i get are short and not cordial. Like im bothering him everytime i try to get any info. Need someone else to reach out to me other than David. Preferrably would like someone new other than David from now on. I do not feel good about doing business with David and honestly we are wondering if there is a way to cancel the parts ordered and get refund and cancel whole project because of how we feel about this whole situation and David. I need something to happen here. Most aggravating part is that ther was no back and forth over price. no haggling no negotiating because they needed this done fast. So we are set to overpay for something that hasnt started Email is fastest way to get ahold of me. ******@*******************

      Business Response

      Date: 03/13/2023

We have reached out to the customer and setup a weekly call to provide updates on their project. Canyon Creek
Presbyterian Church has been a long-term customer with Cintas Fire Protection, and we value their business. The delay in this project is due to (2) issues.

      1. Supply
chain and equipment delivery- While most of the equipment is in house,
several critical components are outstanding. Since your system is being
upgraded and not replaced, there is only one manufacturer that makes these
components, and they have long lead times.  Because of the age of
your system, these are not common parts and are in queue, the dates from
the manufacturer are below. Of the 33 components that make up the main
fire control unit, we are missing the following:
      (2) MLC Card- Ship date 5/16/2023
      (1) Digital Message Card – Ship Date 5/01/2023
      (1) Digital Audio Network Card- Ship Date 07/03/2023
      (1) Local Page Board – Ship Date 3/24/2023
      (1) Power Supply Extension -Ship Date 3/27/2023

      We
may be able to move 3 of the critical parts from another project to your
site. For the other items, we will ask our manufactures representative to
contact his national network to see if any other authorized fire vendors
have them on the shelf as the manufacturer does not have any available.

      2. Permitting-The
original system was installed in 2003. We do not have drawings in our
archive prior to 2008. The City of Richardson has very stringent
requirements for documents for permitting. Our team indicated that you do
not have CAD drawings and we have been diligently trying to convert the
original drawings to CAD without success. All our proposals, including
the one to you notes that the customer must provide electronic drawings in
AutoCAD format for permitting.  This team has been exhausting its
resources trying to find a solution that would not have a cost impact to
you. We do not have the ability to create building floorplans as this is
normally a function of Architect/Engineering firms at a considerable cost.

      We
are working on additional pages for the drawings to add the required
information for permitting, and have reached out to outside resources
about converting scanned images to AutoCAD as our conversion program will
not covert scanned images for the required floorplans.  We are
willing to absorb the cost for this item, if this option is possible. If a
complete building walk and redesign is required, we will have to explore
what that time/cost impact will be.

The sales rep who came out to our business had me sign his tablet in order to get a quote for services. After I signed, he revealed that I had just signed the service agreement; however, he would not submit it until I got approval from the owner of our business. This is a very unprofessional business practice to trick someone into signing an agreement without the proper approval/communication first.

In addition, the sales rep scheduled with me to come back to our business to show us samples and did not show up 3 separate times (and did not communicate that he would not be coming). I have called now for 3 days in a row asking to speak to the sales manager/head of location. I have left 3 separate voicemails. I have not received any communication from this business.

Due to our seasonal schedule changes, we have been open Wednesday through Sunday since October 2022. Unfortunately, Cintas will only service us on Mondays, when nobody is in the office. This means that we consistently are not serviced with the driver leaving random supplies on our door step. This consistently leads to us not receiving all products we require and we have had frequent times were we are charged for products we did not receive. After several calls/emails from myself (since October), as well as direct requests from my shop manager to the delivery driver requesting a different delivery date, we have had no luck with resolving this issue. This led my shop manager to request a cancelation with our driver as our sales contact was not responding. Our local cintas service manager reached out and setup a meeting to discuss remediation (Edgar C******). Edgar canceled this meeting at the last minute and rescheduled the meeting for later in the week. Edgar than skipped that meeting and the next day we received a certified letter stating we were being billed the remainder of our contract for a total of over $9,000. There is clearly a breach of contract as Cintas is not actively providing us service due to our schedule change.

After speaking with **** ******* on the phone, we believe that we have an agreeable resolution for both companies.  We reviewed call dates with **** ******* in response to the complaint that our Service Manager rescheduled or missed appointment dates.  The information that **** ******* was given by his team ended up not being correct, and our Service Manager did not miss or cancel meetings as stated in this BBB complaint.  With ****** office being closed on Monday's and no guarantee that someone would be there, we agreed to move their service date to a Thursday starting 3/23/23.  We believe that this complaint can be closed out.  Both parties have agreed to continue doing business together and we are moving the service date to a Thursday.
