1 starWe are current residents here and honestly we don’t recommend by any means. During the process of applying and everything the leading agents made everything seem perfect. Once we moved in there have been nothing but issue after issue and so far it’s been three weeks and nothing has been fixed. This has been one of the hottest summers we’ve had in a very long time, mind you I’m very pregnant. We have complained about our AC not going below 73-74 for almost three weeks. The leasing manager tried to dismiss all of our complaints and even got an attitude with us. We’re paying an arm and leg to live here so you’d think they’d been quick and willing to fix problems. They’ll also tell you “residents prefer the gates to stay open” but I talked to maintenance and found out the gates are actually broke. So they “gated community” is false advertising, especially considering that’s what drew us to these townhomes. Below I’ll post pictures of the townhome we are living in. Mind you it was like this at move in, even the fridge is broke and they tried to fix it with super glue. Half the time the door won’t even stay shut so the fridge doesn’t keep items cold. The carpets all have stains from previous tenants, I spent a total of almost 6 hours cleaning this townhome due to it not being clean at move in. There’s scratches on the doors and walls, we asked if they have a rodent problem and we’re told “absolutely not” but while we were getting settled in to the new place my fiancé found mice traps all over the kitchen cabinets. Not to mention a huge hole under the bathroom sink and all the damages. We definitely won’t be paying for these repairs at move out since they were all there the day of the inspection. I promise you can find so much better for a way better price. Sadly we are stuck here for a year. Please don’t make the same stupid mistake we did. I trusted the good reviews on google only to learn they are all fake after talking to several neighbors. Update on my previous review. We were told that in order for our heating to work, it has to be set to "emergency heat" at all times. After lots of research and a quick phone call to Duke energy they explained to me why we should absolutely not have it just casually running on emergency. The supervisor started by saying emergency heat is exactly that, for emergencies only. She also said it will be a hazard in multiple ways, including a fire hazard because it's a running as two furnaces instead of one. It's only meant to be on emergency mode if it's below freezing or in the negatives/ if our heating is broke it can be used temporarily until ours is fixed. But not to be used daily all hours of the day. Duke also mentioned how it would drastically increase the bill as well. Duke informed us we should report the apartments to better business of Ohio and the Ohio department of health with what we were told which we fully intend on doing. Side note: maintenance said they had told several residents to use "emergency heat".Review fromShona T

1 starDistrict at Linworth -Connor group property.
I am being overcharged for items that are not signed for in my lease. Internet which I am forced to use by the complex is $99.99 in the lease, and I am now being charged $129.99- valet trash which we are forced to use is $12.99 in the lease, and I am now being charged $19.99. I am requesting my account be credited and to only be charged for prices in my current lease agreement. This is unethical and an extreme disrespect to a tenant of now 4 years.Review fromAlex E

1 starMy review regarding Dock Street Flats in Minneapolis:
The building is filthy there is major price gouging with regards to trash, recycling and "shared" internet (mandatory $100 fee). CG cuts corners to save $ anywhere possible. When it's time to renew your lease they schedule a "walk though" which is a way to strong arm you (in your own home) into renewing your lease at a considerable (10-20%) increase. Some residents have reported they were given "one hour" to decide & the rent was $100 over price on the website. The elevators have not been mopped or wiped down for months. Trash rooms accumulate trash/recycling. Trash fees increased 700% six months after CG took over. They won't do a walk through with you present, they do it after you move out so you cannot correct any issues they find. They accused me of "tracking down" emplyees on social media. When I ask which SM site this occurred on they refuse to tell me (they can't answer because it ***never happened***). They won't answer questions via email & will insist to meet in person. This way they cannot be held to task for what they say as there is no paper trail. Join "Tenants United Against Connor Group' on Facebook for the real stories/reviews I have personally heard Abby verbally berate an Amazon driver who was simply asking for a signature for packages.Once you sign the lease you are nothing but a cash cow for the company & they will get every last cent they can out of you. Staff talks in circles & will tell you they are "working" to correct problems, however nothing changes. Current residents have expressed fear to write reviews due to the fact they believe CG will retaliate (and they do). When you move here you are literally opening your wallet for these lying litigious opportunistic people to grab as much as they please. Don't ask questions as they will threaten you with a lawsuit or fire off a letter from one of thier attorneys. Former employees have confirmed a majority/all of positive reviews are faked.Review fromMichael S

1 starDock Street Flats, a "luxury" apartment owned by the Connor Group in downtown Minneapolis, has the most unethical business practices I have ever had the "luxury" of dealing with. I was threatened to re-sign a lease with 5 months remaining in my first year or I would be given the highest rate increase, which was actually just the month by month rental rate but was shown as a deceptive threat if we did not resign.
They demand to view your apartment to assure its clean when you do not respond to their daily messages, then try to get you to sign a new lease but frame it as signing off on your apartment check. Disgusting and ILLEGAL behavior. They will spam you with messages DAILY to get you to re-sign and when I called them out on their deceptive and borderline illegal sales tactics, they responded with a "one time prime rate that they can only give to one client in the building. Snake Oil company and the sales tactics they teach should be investigated by the BBB.Review fromanne c

2 stars600/month for 'valet garbage' bags that should be taken down the hall by maintenance and put into garbage shoots is not just a ridiculous fee but causes ants so folks complain about that, my entire apartment shakes every time there's a train, and serious unhealthy leaks from ceiling aren't considered a big deal (no hotel voucher when after a week there's no resolution in sight, and likely a month of plastic tarps to live around in a 600 square foot apt.Review fromStephen B

1 starI moved out of my apartment on June 10th. I waited for them to send my deposit and an invoice of the deductions. I called after their legally allowed 45 days had elapsed. I had to email and call 5 separate times, including twice in the same day, until the property manager there relented and emailed me the invoice. Even though they were outside of the allowed period, they had deducted exactly the amount of my deposit, including fees for dusting my blinds and other cleanup that should have fallen under normal wear and tear.Review fromAlan T

1 starThe Connor Group is not living up to the lease agreement. You cannot get anyone to response to emails. Their staff doesn't know any information. Everything is handled at corporate office. A one star rating is to much for them, but I can't give a ZERO.Review fromQu A

1 starDeceived me into signing the renewal lease 5 months before the end of 1st lease by making false promises that they will give me 3 bed apartment on ground floor in the same price. And now refused to cancel the lease when I am trying to move out of here.Review fromAnne S

1 starBusiness with Connor Group should be avoided. They spend more time practicing their sales pitches and offering deals to new residents than caring for the already occupied units. I had a truly great experience at Dock Street prior to them taking over in Fall 2022. In the short time they’ve been here my furnace was out twice and it took multiple calls to convince them it was an ER repair on the coldest winter days.
I’ve also witnessed residents complaining about exterior building maintenance that is left unresolved so birds die in dryers with no help from the staff (their solve, run the dryer when the animal gets in). Water streams from people's ceilings multiple times, and staff refuses to check for mold and instead paints over the damage. They cause damage to people’s personal property when making repairs. They’ve turned down the hot water temps. They raise utilities unexpectedly by +75%. Bring up State law for tenants? They say they aren’t lawyers and deflect.
The staff are nice when they need something from you, otherwise, they do the least to get by. You might get a deal to get in but you have to hope for no issues or you are screwed. Read the Better Business Bureau reviews, and don’t trust the fluffy (fake) reviews written when they took over around Fall 2022. Staff stands in the lobby peer pressuring people to write positive reviews so they can get a personal bonus of new shoes.
There are a lot of places to live in the North Loop, but this isn’t one of them anymore.Review fromKimberly F

1 starThis is the worse place in terms of management, I have ever resided. Several issues have occurred. First, I was informed my son could not park his truck on the property, because management considered it to be a junker. This forced me to purchase a garage in order for him to be able to visit. Since, purchasing the garage it has been inoperable most of the time. We went one whole week without being to park in garage and still I have to pay full price. Today, it's not working again. Next, parking is horrible. At least 6 out of 7 nights when I arrive home from work there is nowhere to park. One particular night I parked by the pond. The next morning, I had a green sticker on my window. Of course, I called the office. In speaking with the lady property manager, I shared my viewpoint on management targeting my son and myself. I said, I feel like you all are racist. Her reply" Ms. Kimberly I can see how you feel like that, but I assure you we are not. My son's truck had been tagged with a green sticker, my vehicle was tagged with a green sticker, and I had been forced to purchase a garage for him to park his junker. Yes, racism at its best. On August 19, I was pulling off my street on the property to a side street. Behind me was the property golf cart with three people on it. As, I was driving I noticed a black compact car parked on the corner by the dog park. There was no parking available. However, that vehicle did not get a green sticker. How do I know? I slowed down and watched the golf cart. Fare is fare provide the same treatment to all. When I first moved in my rent was $1649.00 a month. Six months into my lease I was approached saying if I didn't sign now my rent would be higher than the $1999.00 if I waited until end of lease. Yes, I signed who wants to move in 6 months. Today I paid $2307 which includes a garage that is not working, increased fees for internet and utilities. Brown people this place is not for us. Racist staff different rules based on skin color.
