Contracted with Eerie on 2/6/2023 for a new fiberglass roof. Purchase price $22,634.00. We were told that the job wouldn't start for possible 90 days due to the winter months and that we wouldn't have to pay on the roof until around May. First red flag was the crew. The crew I said. Second red flag was the guys were done in 5-hours. Inspected the roof after they left and the shingle were not laying flat. Called and I was told it was due to the weather and that it would lay flat once the temperature on the roof heated up. It's now July and we have recorded one of the hottest summers ever worldwide and the roof still looks like shit. We called again and Eerie sent out another Mexican by himself who climbed on the roof and tried to glue the shingles back down. What a joke. Of course that didn't work. At this point Erie is not answering the phone so this is my last step before I file a lawsuit demanding all of my money back. We have two roofing companies coming out this week to see if they even did all the work they were contracted to do considering we can't trust the shingle application who knows if they even replaced the OSB or what other corners they cut just to get paid. We will be suing to get a response because that seems to be all these individuals understand or they will just ignore you .

Erie Home apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused. Erie has attempted to go out to this customers home multiple times. Erie reached out and scheduled time on July 28th to meet with the customer, the customer cancelled that meeting on the day of and advised to come out the next Wednesday 8/2. On 8/2 Erie texted the customer to find out which time would be best to come and the customer declined us coming out and stated he wanted to cancel. The roof is installed and completed so the customer cannot cancel at this point. As for the OSB we have attached pictures showing that it was installed per the contract.

I am rejecting this response because: We are proceeding with an alternative solution. We did not appreciate the lack of consideration shown and as a result we will not be giving Erie another chance to cause any further damage to our property. This response omits the fact that Erie sent out a non English speaking crew to do the erroneous work, and sent them back out to inspect the damage they caused and all they did was smile and attempt to hand me paperwork to sign stating I was satisfied with their work. The  second guy climbed on the roof and started glueing down improperly installed shingles. It was only after my numerous calls and complaint on here and me telling them I had retained counsel, Erie decided to take us serious. Up until that point a month and a half went by and not a single solitary call or text. Erie should post the communications from the start of the job until the end of the job and let's see the time lag between responses. I bet you'll only see prompt and astute responses in direct response to the actions I took to challenge their below sub standard performance on our roof and how poorly they were handling the situation after being notified twice. I'm sorry but I am not giving Erie a third chance when it come to something as precious as the home my family and I currently reside and has been in the family for over 30-years. We want a complete refund and we have told Erie this and they have ignored us since we made that request and now we will have an attorney let them know and we will see if they ignore that like they have had a pattern of doing. I'd like to add that two other roofing companies came out to inspect Eries work and each of them, neither knowing each other both said the work was sub-standard and needed to be redone the right way. They also both came in close to $15,000 less then what Erie charged us for this hack job.

      Erie would like the
opportunity to gain access to the property to inspect the alleged issues
through an independent inspector and assess the customer’s claims further to
assist in a resolution. As set forth in the previous response, we have been
unable to access the property for an inspection or have a meeting with the
customer on site—the prior scheduled meetings having been cancelled by the
customer. The customer is correct that he had an attorney send a demand letter.
At this stage, Erie has responded to the customer’s attorney through its legal
counsel, though nonetheless stands ready, willing and able to address the
customer’s concerns and questions directly if he is willing to meet with
      members of our team.”

In July 2020 Erie Construction installed new gutters on my home. I was told that gutter protection guards would be placed, a metal mesh screen to keep debris out. They were never installed, company was contacted and they came out and installed these foam inserts, stated these were just as good to keep the mess out of the gutters. As you can see from the pictures the foam serves nothing more than a growing base for plants. I contacted the company and they refuse to correct their issue. Instead they wanted to charge me to come clean their mess. I've had nothing but issues with this company from the beginning and they are less than accommodating when it comes time to make right on their errors. My gutters are ruined and a mess now.

I've attached a Word Doc with most accurate description of issue as possible. The list is extensive. I've reached out to the contractor several times since June 2023

      I chose Erie Home Construction
based on their web page information and the stellar 5-star reviews of service
for basement repair. I discovered after the fact that they’d only started doing
      basement water proofing recently.
I contracted to have my basement drain tiles redone
3/21/2023. I was assured that the job would take 3 days. They were to replace
the drain tiles, and put plastic on the walls (Encapsulation). Install sump pumps and molding (Erie Edge Cove)
around the base of the walls.
I agreed to the price and paid a down payment of 4,532.00.
After many calls requesting arrival date, my call was
finally returned in May. In May of 2023 a crew arrived to cut 18 inches from
the bottom of my finished walls. They arrived at approximately 11am. At approximately
1 pm, one of the men came back upstairs to tell me that “someone had measured
wrong” and they would need to come back at a later date.
Again, after several unreturned calls requesting a return
date, a crew came again. Instead of cutting only 18 inches from the base of the
walls, they completely removed 3 walls leaving studs hanging from the rafters.
All of the materials that they removed were left on the floor of the basement
making it nearly impossible to gain access to appliances.  They installed an air moving unit that required
them to put an (about 5 inch) hole into my basement wall. There is now a stress
crack going down the entire wall that is plainly visible from outside. I told
      him about the crack.
They promised that someone would arrive within the next 3
days to remove the debris, cut the floors and remove the old drain tiles. The
following day they were to return to complete the job. I was informed at the
end of the day that the job couldn’t be finished, and they’d return the
following day to complete it.  The crew
arrived at 11am the following day. At 12 they left for lunch returning at about
2:30pm. I advised the crew chief that my wife and I had to leave at 6:30 for a
      meeting.
The crew chief came up at near 6:30 to inform me that the job was finished. I had time for a very brief look and saw that the floor and walls looked horrible.
The plastic sheeting was fed into the base of the walls, and the (edge cove) was not installed. He informed me that was “the only way I could do it because the walls were uneven.”
They didn’t cover anything with plastic tarps as they’d said they would. My house filled with concrete dust leaving upwards of an 1/8 of “dust” on all my things in the basement. (We’re still cleaning from this disaster)
They left dehumidifiers running causing the fans to plug up.
Sometime in the process of hammering the floors, my gas line was hit and pulled/bent away from the wall, (they shut off the gas),
my cold-water pipe to the front half of the house was broken, a 2nd hole was cut into my wall for a 2nd drain pipe. The 2-inch drain pipe not secured to the wall and moves freely over 1 foot of movement, and is mounted to drain at the base of the house into my flower gardens not utilizing my existing drains that run to the ditch away from the house.According to the directions I found later with the documentation for the pumps, it was supposed to be run into my existing line.
After finding all this, I immediately cancelled payment to
the check for final payment. I contacted Erie home the following day to voice
      my displeasure.
I was assured that someone would arrive soon to review the
      work.
Upon their review of the work, I was advised that the
quality was “absolutely unacceptable” and they’d be returning to “completely
redo the job. This time they did cover my appliances and food and storage
shelves with plastic although too little too late. They completed the job that
night, and advised me that it was completed, that someone would contact me
later in the week. After another 3 days to wait for the concrete to dry, we
started the task of cleaning again.
The plastic sheeting that was put in place to protect surfaces, instead of taping it to the shelves, they opened sealed snap ring crates, put the end of the plastic sheeting into them, and snapped them shut again. We use these storing antique Christmas heirloom’s dating back 3 generations, items from our children dating back almost 4 decades, and other assorted items that we wanted kept dry and dust free. Not knowing that they’d done this, we started pulling the plastic away from the shelves causing many of the storage boxes to fall from the shelves to the floor spilling contents.
Nothing was laid on our floors causing a “path” to be worked into the floor from the gritty concrete on their boots.
The sump pump drain pipe was not fixed.
The floor still had wet spots after a brief rain
A new leak appeared in the cellar way by the stairs causing water to run down the stairs.
The Air unit that was installed was to circulate are and keep the basement dry eliminating the need for a dehumidifier. The humidity in my basement is over 90% now (according to the gauge on the unit.) We checked it after noticing that our doors upstairs were sticking shut from the high humidity. We put dehumidifiers in the basement that we’re emptying twice a day. More than ever before.
I called back again to advise them of the issue. After a few
back-and-forth calls, they offered to send someone to look at the issues. I
informed them that I’m going to contact another contractor to fix the issues. I
advised that I was very unhappy with the results. The initial job was to take 3
days to complete. At this point its been almost 3 months since they started
ending in dismal results. I agreed to another inspection from a representative.
They visited a few days later and asked for “one more chance
to complete the job”.  After much discussion
I agreed with the stipulation that I’d only pay half of the remaining balance
due to extra expense of plumbing repairs, cleaning etc.  This was on Thursday June 29th. He
promised that someone would contact us on the following Monday July 3rd.  After no one called me, I waited another
week and called them asking what they’d decided to do to fix the problems. That
      call went unanswered
I called back again today July 12 and finally got a person.
I was advised that the person I need to speak to won’t be available until after
      July 24th.
In summary, I’m very disappointed with the service done. It
has created more problems that I originally had. There doesn’t appear to be an
adequate resolution to date. I will not be paying the balance and would like my
      deposit returned.
I’ve since had the gas and water lines repaired. I’m
currently investigating options to repair the existing damages via another
      contractor.
I have multiple photos and videos of the work that was done
      available if needed.

      Business Response

Erie Construction takes customer complaints seriously.
In this case, Erie representatives appeared on site on more than one occasion
to address the customer’s concerns. The customer has resorted to self-help by
not paying the contract price. Erie previously offered a three-tiered
resolution. First, it explained it would remediate the areas of customer
concern, notably replacing and restoring drywall in sections that previously
needed to be removed in order to get to a basement-perimeter wall. Second, Erie
explained it would also do additional work for free which was not included in
the original scope of work by addressing water-leakage in an area that was not
under the contract, and that Erie did not otherwise touch. Third, Erie offered
a $4,000.00 price abatement. The customer is adamant that Erie not return to
site for anything—which has made the ability to resolve any issues impossible.
Erie remains ready, willing and able to return to site to address the issues of
the customer, and will continue to offer a reasonable price abatement. Erie is
not willing to offer, as the customer has demanded, 50%-off the contract price

original contact date 10/11/2019. Erie construction was to replace roof on grate room.
roof had NO damage. seeking metal roof. we were told metal was not possible. Erie could replace roof. work was completed. After 2 years. it started to rain inside room Rain runs down wall and seep thru ceiling towels
Call for service Erie sent out repair work. did not solve problems Next heavy rain problem
return called Erie quick fix-next heavy rain problem return. We are always transfer to different people; Promise are made-not kept. at one we were told to get estimates at our expense for repair of problems inside. Someone came out from Erie to inspect the issue then no further contact. Inside roof ceiling is vaulted and repair estimates are pricey. We are now being ignored they clearly do not intend to pay for inside damage. Two days ago with the heavy rain again; it rained inside my home. Mold has formed in drywall because it's always wet. We have several photos of damaged all inside; this is a health risk; we're breathing mold spores.
WE ARE GETTING THE RUN AROUND I am sure they have insurance to pay for damages created by their company. WE received very poor service and they do not stand behind their work

Two salesmen from Erie Metal Roof (**** & “*****”) came to my house to talk to me about their shingles as I was needing new ones from the hail storm our town had. I wanted steel ones. It would cost a lot of money. I was going to have money from my insurance but I was still going to have to make payments. They told me I wouldn’t have to make my first payment for 90 days after installation. Well the loan company has already had me set up my information on their site & they have my first payment due the 26th of THIS month!! I’ve called several times & no one will call me back. They lied to me!! I’m retired & on a limited income. I’m having to borrow $14,000. On the loaner’s site it says my bill is $200 & some cents over $14,000. This is a 15 year loan. I think they should make my first 3 payments since they lied to me - one payment each month, not all three at the same time. Will you please help me resolve this? Thank you.

In December I received an estimate for my home/roof. I thought that the price was on the high side of reasonable but it was a necessary purchase. I had purposely asked for an estimate before Christmas because nobody has extra money at that time for giant repairs. But salesmen do what they do and offered me zero down payment and financing to begin 3 months after the installation. To help me cover a few things before the payment kicked in they offered a $2000 visa gift card (in writing )to be mailed out within 12-14 business days. When it hadn’t arrived by March my patience wore out and I called & they said it was an error on their end and eventually they mailed a check. Unfortunately they didn’t warn me that they changed the parameters of the agreement and I tore it apart thinking junk mail as junk checks often come with stipulations that if cashed it’s a loan towards services. Window and other services send these often. I called them back when I realized my mistake and sent picture proof that it was not deposited or useable. I still have the conversation about the situation with their employee in text form now it is nearly July and they keep saying that the accounting department is understaffed. They were able to drive 2 hours at a drop of a hat to get the estimate and sales team to me though.

I had a roof purchased and installed for just under $28k around the end of November 2022. When the sales person was at my house I refused to purchase several times until they got the financing within my budget, which is currently a higher payment than they said. I was told along with the purchase was a rebate, and 90days no-payment, the financing also had 90days and I made sure it would be 6months no-payment before proceeding, I got only the 90days offered through the financing, and they did not honor theirs. They completed the job in two days and I inspected their work on my day off. They sent the completion packet for me to sign, I saw they contracted the work to a small business. They vented the peak of the roof by smashing in the decking, leaving broken wood debris in my attic along with hanging wires that were attached to those boards. They used minimal decking only for covering old vent holes and some places are still missing decking with nails poking through! I currently have shingles lifting and every corner of drip edge looks terrible, not even lined up with the next piece. Before being pressured to sign the completion forms by the project manager and their boss, I showed them my concerns on site. I feel taken advantage of now half year later after being told what a great business this is during the sale, I keep hearing from the install manager that it will get fixed but it feels like just a way to brush me off. I have contacted another person to get a copy of the paperwork from them and expressed my concerns with them only to be back with the install manager that says scheduling will contact me. This business has given me the impression they will tell you anything to make the sale, make it happen as fast as possible, and tell you anything to get their paycheck. Disgusted.

We have called them multiple times because shingles have come off during a storm, which they said they would withstand winds up to 130 mph, they didn't use the products as promised and they will not return our calls! They continuously tell us that they are going to call us back but they never do. It's been 5 months.
