Eerie came 2/14/23 to do our roof. So far no issues with the roof. Issues with everything else. They made promises (some on paper) that they didn’t hold up on. We had skylights removed and we were told they would fill the space immediately. They didn’t and left the 4 giant holes open in my roof the entire first day of the job leaving a lot of debris inside my home including my bathroom and kitchen sinks to which I needed to clean out the plumbing for. When asked about compensation for the plumbing issues and my heat bill (tstat is 15 feet away from the giant holes and we live in CT) I was told a manager would be contacting me. Never got anything. They busted a skylight in my driveway and then proceeded to use a leaf blower to spread it out even more in my driveway and my yard. They also dropped the dumpster in our driveway when we requested it being put in the yard so we wouldn’t lose driveway access. Then the dumpster remained there days after they were done. Even after we requested again for it to be picked up and they said it would. It wasn’t picked up on the days they said it would be retrieved.Business Response

Very sloppy installation work and cleanup, black caulk everywhere, sloppy caulking work resulting in a diminished appearance of home and roof, trash, nails and screws left all over yard and garden beds.
Gutters installed improperly and with poor craftsmanship
Did not install the waterproof tape on black flashing around top of roof rather used silicone. Silicone and the way the metal was bent to install have now created a situation where water sits in pools on the rooftop on the areas surrounding the whole footprint of the house. This is also creating several spots where copious amount of water comes down from the roof into three spots (it used to be diverted to spread out equally) which now flood with any rain event.
Black metal flashing at windows and roof top installed hastily. Metal is dented and bent throughout. Not cut properly and copious amounts of black caulk was used to cover these areas up around window bases.
Black metal flashing around roof edge has already detached from roof on north side of home and upon inspection during a rain and wind storm today (February 12) it’s evident that the original white roof was detached during installation at this area and is allowing wind and water to enter the roof.
Created a leak in roof during work resulting in water entering home into the north side upstairs bedroom. Water is leaking into ceiling mounted light fixture / fan. We just purchased this home in November of 2022 at which time three seperate roof inspections were completed stating that there are no issues and no leaks. Documentation of this can be provided. Leak appeared after the intrusive and hastily done work by Erie. The extent of the damage to the drywall and rafters is still unclear and with any luck can be fixed before further deterioration / accumulation of any mold within / damage to rafters and wood roof sheeting.

Erie construction mislead with when a deposit check would be cashed, this situation has now caused loss in my business due to funds for materials and telecommunications. After 3 hours of back and forth phone calls they insist that they can not release my funds for 10 days. I believe this is just an attempt to collect the interest from the bank instead of returning the funds. Now I was forced to cancel the roof I need due to the situation.Business Response

On 1/19/2023 I put $5,000 down to get my roof replaced. I have financed $13,605.00 with this company. The company sent out a worker on 1/6/2023 to give us a quote on our roof and the type of roofing we wanted. On 1/19/2023 the company sent out its men to begin the process of putting the new roofing on top of the old roofing. The roofing we picked out to go on our roof was fiberglass, the roofing we got was asphalt shingle roofing. Due to conflict with my work schedule I signed the completion documents before the roof was completed, but quickly realized what was being put on my roof was not what we agreed to. On 2/2/2023 a sales representative, sales associate, and one of the bosses over the installation came to my house telling me that what is now on my roof is what I get, and that there is nothing they can do besides give me a gift card. Ultimately, I did not get what I paid for and they gave me no solution to the situation at hand. They have given me till Monday 2/6/2023 to decide what I would like to do with my roof.Business Response

Erie Construction shingled our roof on 2/24/21. Our roof started leaking in our bathroom. I contacted the Service Manager. **** came out to check the leak. He found that there was "an improper nailing pattern at ridge vent. Ridge vent and cap had to be redone with additional flashing and sealing around entire skylight." This was performed on 09/10/2022. When they finished I asked about the repair to the ceiling and wall in the bathroom. He took pictures of the damage in the bathroom. He had also taken pictures on the roof showing the improper installation of the shingles. **** said they do not do the work to repair the bathroom. I would need to find someone to complete the repairs then send a copy of the bill to him. I did that back in November. I received no response. I spoke with **** again in December to let him know I had not received payment from the company. He said he would contact them so I would get payment. I have not heard from them yet. I sent an email today to ****. We paid $2,518.75 to Brian Hommel Home Improvement for the repairs. Our final payment to ****** ************ was on 10/28/2022.Business Response

Erie put a new roof on our home at the end of April 2022. They have been out several times for repairs and now it's leaking and they state is not their issue or because of anything they have done. It wasn't leaking before the new roof and after spending $50,000, it's leading and has been a battle from the start of this project. Subcontractors that put on our roof, did a horrible job, very rude, careless and left a huge mess. Erie just keeps telling us that they no longer work for them. But our home is still suffering because of them and Erie refuses to make it right. The Installation Manager never returns calls, gives us the run around and tries to put blame any where but in the poor job they did. Not sure how many more band aids my roof can handle. Very sad that they continue to refuse to make things right. I guess the next step is to contact a lawyer. After giving them 9 months, I can't watch my home be destroyed anymore.Business Response

Oct/Nov 2021 Erie Contruction was hired to Install new roof and redeck where needed. They did not honor the quote they gave me.
Nov/Dec 2022 Boss Services was hired to install a new shower when they took the ceiling down it was a SHOCK to everyone involved. Had to pay extra to repair the damage that should have been done by Erie Construction.
Erie sent someone to look at it he also realized it was their error.
He said, "They would have to deal with it in the Spring." I asked him to put that in writing or e-mail he said he would when he got back. 1 week went by called and e-mailed no response AT ALL.
It's been over a month. Also the roof cost $30.000 with 20yr warranty PAID in full.
I think the guys name might have been ****.
Thank-you for your time

I am filing a complaint because as a consequence when trying to install gutter guards, I was told that it the "worst job they had ever seen". The install could not be done. I called the city inspector and was informed of a no permit situation, terrible workmanship and virtually an accelerated failure would occur.I was referred to a certified roofing inspector who came over and received a 47 page report, with pictures, of findings describing total failure.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because it is an absolute false statement. I have been home the past three (3) weeks, with NO ONE coming to see me from Erie Construction. In addition, would it not be a normal business action to make an appointment first, as opposed to just showing up. If a representative did show up, why didn't they leave a business card or some letter in my mailbox, to reflect their efforts. Finally, as to any attempts for them to call me, I can provide my cell phone long for the past few weeks to show incoming calls.
Sincerely,
