I had a roof installed last year and was offered a rebate because part of the roof could not have the metal installed because of the slope. I have the documents for the rebate and have talked to the company multiple times to no avail. I still have not gotten my rebate. They now say they got a new computer system and have not been able to verify the rebate.Business Response

Worst experience ever. High pressure sales 4hrs to get quote with 2 sales people. Paid $23K 7 to 10 k more than other roofers or about 30k if you went with their metal but they sold us on how much better the service you get and a better product. Product will be a wait and see but service failed. They said they did not subcontract but found out after install 100% subcontracted. Job was completed in a timely fashion but the subcontractor called for someone to get a sign off my wife closed here store and lost over an hour to find no one at the house. Found an unacceptable mess and Emailed our Sales person ********* ***** with no reply on how to proceed. The Subcontractor finally responded to my text message to sign paperwork he left in my US mail box. I refused. I was then contacted by ****** ******* Installation Department manager I requested an inspection by an Erie employee but all he did was send the crew to do some cleaning I watched in camera they never took ladder to back upper gutter. We then got a cold and snow so I signed paper work “So he could pay his crew before Christmas” again I fell for it. I had him sign on the contract he would return at the thaw and give me an aerial video like they did for sales and clean out upper gutters. Erie was to get permits but the city did not receive paperwork for permit till after the install when I questioned it. Thaw came and was told I would need to contact sales to get this done. I did get ladder up and have photos of debris also found damage to siding on back side of chimney. ***** told me he would not but Financing through until he came back to clean and inspect 2 days later Finance company calls to say they were paying Erie asked them to hold till this is resolved. Would like Erie to inspect the subcontractor’s work provide me a video of the high roof and now fix the cracked corner of chimney before there is water damage.Business Response

On November 30, 2022 my wife and I entered into a contract with Erie Home for them to install a roof. At this time we put down a deposit of $30,000. We asked multiple times if the work would be sub contracted out and were told absolutely not. a few days before work was to commence we were phoned by the project manager and he let us know it would be sub contractors doing the work. As we felt the job had been misrepresented to us we cancelled. We have made multiple calls to company reps. and have either gotten no return calls or been told our refund should haver been processed The salesman has admitted his mistake in telling us no subcontractors so company has admitted their error. We just want our money back! No product was delivered and no work had been started. We do not even know what type of insurance the sub contractors would have and are not about to let workers with questionable insurance and qualifications work on our property.Business Response

We had a roof and a rolled roof installed by Erie Construction in May of 2018 to the tune of $18,000,00. Every item Erie installs is included in the warranty, as per the paperwork we received. We have had several leaks since install that we did not have prior. Leaks in the foyer and living room area. We also get snow and ice in our attic every time it snows. I was told that this is "normal". What a joke! Erie does not respond to my messages I leave. When they have responded, they send someone out to only point the blame somewhere else. They do not take ownership of their poor workmanship. The last person to come out was ******* ********. He shared with us that the snow in my attic was not normal and they would be out to fix that problem over the next couple of days. That was 3 weeks ago! ******* said that ***** would be calling. Never received a call. We have had 2 other roofers out to assess our issues and they both say the same thing...poor workmanship and that we got ripped off! PLEASE do not hire this company to do any work for you. They talk a big game and do not deliver. They are unresponsive when you do have a problem and do not stay true to their word. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!Business Response

This business is a questionable buy. I thought that the exurbanite price and extended guarantee was worth the price. In the first week of October the crew showed up and started working with only a 2 hour notice. Parked the driveway blocking access to the garage, put the wagon in the yard (repairs in the spring), cleaned up after dark, allowed debris to go into Lake Michigan, should I continue? Local crew management was non-existent and un-responsive until it was time to sign off on the project. Now we are within specifications of the guarantee for the warranty and the shingles are tearing off. I have reported prior to sign off that the shingles where not stuck down and the installer group assured me that this would happen. The shingles continue to be loose and slap. This is irrigating at best while trying to sleep. We built this home in 2002 and the original shingles had two or three small pieces we had lost in 20 years. If you are considering a new roof, you are better off to roll the dice with standard shingles from the local yard and installer. The expertise of crew, install, and quality off material is WAY OVERSOLD and price does not warrant the cost differential of 300 to 400% above local pricing. Still waiting on Erie to address. We financed through Erie and are scheduled to make our first payment in January, project results didn't even get to payment stage of completion.Business Response

The job was not what I paid for and the company rep. did not come to inspect the job and see if it was done correctly. They miss represented the work that would be done, and the total cost of the work.Business Response

My roof is leaking for the third time since installed not even 3 years ago!! Two times has been the exact same spot. At this point it’s obvious they are just putting a bandaid on the problem instead of fixing it. It is under warranty however if it’s not going to be fixed right I would prefer refund so I can get someone out that will do the job the right way. I paid way too much for a roof that isn’t any better that the 20 year old roof I had before.Business Response

Agee to job on 8 1 22
Told them I wanted to be present when the job was done
Agree to a date I took work off and the never showed up and no phone call
Came the next day and did the job when no one was home (roof part)
Then agreed to a day and time to do gutters and insulation again no phone call all day hours late they show up and put the gutters up and they're the wrong size (5"in) water leaks behind them and out of the downspouts and downspouts are not uniform on the house so now I have crooked gutters and downspouts and will have hole in my siding and faces when the new right size gutters (6")are put up
Then they also put 4 bags of blown insulation for the hole attic (about 1412 sq ft) was supposed to be a value of r32 (min 6in) did not even do all of the attic at this point I've taken 6 days from work they only showen up to one of the day that we scheduled
Now we agree to Nov 17 2022 to fix the roof and again no phone call and no showBusiness Response

We had 2 sales people come on 10/14/2022. one was ****, but I'm not sure of the other person. we were promised 18 Month of interest free. This is one of the reasons I decided to go with Erie and I figured I'd be able to pay with no interest and then pay it off before the int started. Just within the past 2 weeks when speaking to the loan company (welcome call) she went over the information and mentioned that the interest started right away. This is when I found out.
I then called Erie and spoke with some ****** or ****? she said that I probably would not be able to get the interest free at this point, but that she would check. she called me back that same day and or the next and told me that I was not able to get the interest free since the work was already done.
I called the loan company( Madallion) and they did not understand why I was unable to get it since my payments don't start until february 2023. I tried reaching out by email to **** one of the salesman and he has not replied nor did he any other time I tried to reach him. The loan told me to keep calling them until I get better response.Business Response

Per the signed loan agreement that happened in the home on 10/20/2022, the customer agreed to the terms of the loan. The customer does have 3 months deferred payments and does have the options to refinance the loan with any company of their choosing. Per the signed contract attached " Buyer agrees and understands that this agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties, and that there are no verbal understandings, changing, or modifying any terms of this agreement."Customer Answer
