As an auction liquidator, M@C Discount runs auctions on items that were returned to Big Box retailers for any reason. When customers are registering to ***********, they are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Those terms and conditions can easily be referenced at ********************************************** fall under our Open Box policy. I will cite the "Open Box condition code here.2.10.2 Open Box Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, you should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site.Customers are always more than welcome to inspect many of our items before they place their bid. We actually encourage inspection before a bid is placed. We do make it known on our website and on our app that pallet auctions are sold as-is and manifests may not be exact. I am pretty new to Mac auctions. I have had three pick **** and with each one have received damaged goods that were listed as open box. One was an upright ****** in which I paid $51 but luckily got the five dollar guarantee and returned it. The other things I just wrote off as a loss. Air mattress has a hole in it. Even if I got the guarantee, I am still losing five dollars on each returned item! *** needs to be careful not to recycle damaged goods!M@C Discount

I pay for a monthly membership and I have 2 fraud purchases and they claim they cant refund them. They are both last chance items $**** each. I buy tons every week, I wouldnt have made a mistake and purchased an item I dont want, let alone two. They said I can dispute them with my bank, but will freeze my account, which makes the membership void. So I paid $29.99 plus these 2 items **** x2 that I didnt approve. To just lose out. Horrible business practice. I worry that the next unauthorized charge will be in the hundreds with no help. Their app crashes daily but they claim no issues. Id say there is an issue, more then one.M@C Discount

We soundly reject the notion that our app "crashes" daily. It is extremely rare that we have any issues at all with the app or website. We definitely do not have the issues this customer is claiming we have. The customer is leaving out a key detail in this case. We uncovered the digital paper trail to where the coding was showing that the purchase of these items came from their account. We do always stress to make sure the customer's phone is secure and to make sure their phone is locked or the log out of the app while they are not using it. The customer has used her membership benefits as of this month, so they would not be refunded for that either. Chargebacks are a messy process for all parties involved, that is why we take them very seriously. With all of this being said, we are still sorry the customer feels this way.Review fromFrank B

BE VERY CAREFUL! Purchased a car seat. It was covered in stains, sticky stuff in the cup holders, and smelled horrible. It looks like its been used for years. I called and they said theres nothing they will do. Horrible!M@C is new for me. I showed up at **** to pickup items. *** in ********* told me I had to buy a membership in order to pickup because I couldnt wait until ****. The rest of the staff was very helpful, professional, and friendly.M@C Discount

We enforce the early entry policy to help keep the integrity of our membership value in tact. I was at Robinson yesterday 11/9 for a pickup. Their computers were down and was told they had no idea when they’d be back up. They took my name and phone number and gave me a little piece of paper with their name and customer service # and stated this would be proof that I was there since yesterday was the deadline for my pickup. I was told I could come back tmrw so when I went back today my merchandise had been considered abandoned and they would not give me a refund either. This was their fault. A one day extension should have been automatic for me and anyone else who was there ystdy.M@C Discount

Although it is true that our system was down on 11/9, but it was only down for about 45 minutes. The Robinson location did give out the customer service number, but we do not have any records of this customer calling or emailing into customer service on 11/9. If the customer would have, there may have been something we could have done. The customer also, would have been able to purchase a hold for her items after the system came back up. I showed up an hour before the doors opened to get my items, I waited in line for over an hour hour bc their systems were down, and they have no way of doing it manually. So I Wasted time driving there and waiting in line just to be told they didn’t know when things would be back up. With no one reaching back (after multiple attempts) to me asking for either a refund or to get my things on another day. Very frustrating with literal theft on their side. (Boardman center ). On top of the rude attitude of the workers who had no clue how to fix this problem and said you just have to “keep waiting” that’s not how business works for merchandise you have already purchased. EXTREMELY frustrated and disappointed with this company.M@C Discount

Although it is true that we did experience a temporary outage on that day that lasted roughly forty five minutes, the customers did not lose her items as a result. Although nothing really could have been done at the time, our customer service department was able to put her items on a courtesy hold for her. The time stamp for that hold is 2023-11-09 16:19:23 for Invoice #*******. The items are still on hold on the customer's account. We do apologize for that issue, but it was our of our control at the time. We did what we could to accommodate the issue at hand. Thank you.Review fromJoan F

I’m not sure if it is just the Beaver Falls facility that does not know how to describe an item or what but their “Like new” description for a kitchen island means it is missing the top, the drawers, the towel rack, legs, hardware and instructions! The entire item was missing and all that was received was 2 chair seats no legs etc. i can’t believe they consider that to be “like new” ! The item was completely misrepresented in its description. They said she should have checked it out at the facility and that it was her loss. I recommended this place to my niece and that is what she got. I will not recommend this place again because the company has no integrity with respect to how they represent an item. The items I got from this place was not at the quality described in their descriptions and the air purifier I purchased doesn’t even work.M@C Discount

I will cite the "Like New” condition code here. 2.10.1 Like New - These are items that appear to be in a new condition or have never been used previously. These items are not tested for functionality or completeness -for items that are marked Like New a bidder must examine the item thoroughly when claiming (pick-up) the item. If the item does not appear new or unused or if there is an issue, the bidder MUST report this to M@C prior to leaving the premises. Once the bidder has left the premises with the item, M@C cannot issue any Refund for issues arising with the item. M@C may offer credit on future purchases for all Like New items with discovered defects, not including buyer remorse. Customers are always more than welcome to inspect many of our items before they place their bid. We actually encourage inspection before a bid is placed. We do offer the Buyer’s Assurance for many of our items as well. I will paste the Buyer's Assurance terms for reference. 2.16. Buyers Assurance - A User may elect to purchase “Buyers Assurance” for any individual item in the auction. This purchase is elected at the time the bid is placed in the auction. The cost varies based on the product characteristics. The Buyers Assurance product allows the User to return the Item, for which the product was purchased, within 5 Business Days following the date the Item was picked up. This return is treated as a Buyers Assurance return, and a reason is not required to process the refund. The Buyers Assurance fee will not be refunded. If a customer ever believes their item is not congruent to the listing, they are always more than welcome to bring it back in for a Manager Review.
