Mac Bids is a great place to receive all types of great deals. they have lots of returning items, overstock items and just things for a great price. You are always welcome to go there and inspect before you bid on an item. They actually prefer that you do it.M@C Discount

app constantly crashes for days at a time despite thousands of complaints across the App Store, play store, and social media pages. During this time customers are unable to log in either in the app or on the website, and have no idea if they have won auctions. This can range from the app and website simply not loading, or being told that login info is incorrect, even after password resets. Company takes this opportunity to charge late fees less than 48 hours after the auctions are finalized and refuses to refund them. This has happened to me three times and all three times I tried calling and emailing support when I could not log in. None of my emails were returned until my account was suspended for writing negative reviews highlighting this fraud, claiming I broke a rule that prohibits saying anything that could “damage the reputation” of the company. I had perhaps a dozen items I had not yet picked up that I am now unable to access - company claims to have issued unauthorized refunds and kept the items, which is actually theft. I know I’m going to get a rude response to this complaint, just like I did from the support rep who outright lied about not having any complaints about the app crashing. I read her my emails complaining about the app crashing, multiple App Store reviews of the app crashing, and she maintained that those complaints did not exist. She also refused to confirm that a supervisor would call me back when I asked for one. Furthermore, the items sold are typically advertised as “like new” or “open box” but are typically missing parts or outright broken. Customers are invited to “inspect” items at warehouses before bidding, which should not be necessary if an item has been deemed “like new” and is completely unrealistic and impossible for most items. This is a fraudulent company who is somehow convincing people to buy trash and refuses to do returns. Will also be reporting to the FTC and AG. ??M@C Discount

We will start out by saying that our response will be very professional. This customer is leaving out a few key details. First, although they are correct that we have not had any complaints about the app crashing recently, there was also an update to the app. If a customer does not update their app, they can experience issues. If the app was crashing, this customer could have went to the website for anything they needed. We did make an exception in the past to refund a late fee on an invoice as a courtesy, which again, the customer omitted this information. **************** hours are 10 am to 6pm Monday through Friday. When a customer makes and type of a legal threat towards our company, we then defer any conversation between the customer's attorney and our own. We no longer speak with the customer for legality purposes. This customer did threaten us multiple times. I am going to cite our Open Box and Like New Policy for reference purposes:2.10. Refunds All items will be listed for sale with a Condition Code. This Condition Code will dictate the type of Refund, if any, will be considered. The Condition Codes are as follows:2.10.1 Like New - These are items that appear to be in a new condition or have never been used previously. These items are not tested for functionality or completeness -for items that are marked Like New a bidder must examine the item thoroughly when claiming (pick-up) the item. If the item does not appear new or unused or if there is an issue, the bidder MUST report this to M@C prior to leaving the premises. Once the bidder has left the premises with the item, M@C cannot issue any Refund for issues arising with the item. M@C may offer credit on future purchases for all Like New items with discovered defects, not including buyer remorse.2.10.2 Open Box Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, you should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site. When customers register to ***********, they agree to all of our terms and conditions, including these.Given all of this information, we are still very sorry the customer feels this way. We di wish them the best moving forward.Review fromBrian F

Discount companies like mac.bid can try to justify their business practices all they want; the fact is they prey on people trying to save money in this country's climate of increasing corporate greed which is met by flat employee salaries. I made various "winning bids" and purchased items that were definitely not "like new" as advertised, had obviously been used and were even missing pieces which I had to purchase separately to make the items usable. And a number of "open box" items were missing pieces which rendered the items unusable; one box was filled with what appeared to be someone's garbage as it contained a stained, canvas hanging clothes bag (which was not part of the item's description) which smelled like cat urine. Never again will I use this site.M@C Discount

As an auction liquidator, M@C Discount runs auctions on items that were returned to Big Box retailers for any reason. When customers are registering to bid with us, they are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Those terms and conditions can easily be referenced at https://www.**************************. I will cite the "Open Box' condition code here. 2.10.2 Open Box – Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, User should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the User to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site. Customers are always more than welcome to inspect many of our items before they place their bid. We actually encourage inspection before a bid is placed. We do offer the Buyer’s Assurance for many of our items as well. I will paste the Buyer's Assurance terms for reference. 2.16. Buyers Assurance - A User may elect to purchase “Buyers Assurance” for any individual item in the auction. This purchase is elected at the time the bid is placed in the auction. The cost varies based on the product characteristics. The Buyers Assurance product allows the User to return the Item, for which the product was purchased, within 5 Business Days following the date the Item was picked up. This return is treated as a Buyers Assurance return, and a reason is not required to process the refund. The Buyers Assurance fee will not be refunded. If customers ever believe an item is not congruent to the listing, they can bring it in for a Manager Review. A manager would review the item and then compare it to the listing to see if a refund would be warranted. Customers always have 30 days from the close of the auction to ask for a review. Reviews are at the complete discretion of the manager. We try to liquidate these returns to help people save money and keep these items out of the landfills. Item inspection before bidding and the Buyer's Assurance is key. Auction liquidation is very much a learning experience and it isn't always for everyone. If one follows our terms and conditions, auction liquidation can be a great thing for many people. Thank you.Review fromJim S

It took a minute to figure out the terms and conditions, they're clear and written in plain English. The people whining on here are the same that wait in the parking lots for black Friday sales and require mental health interventions when they don't get the cheap nightstand.Looking past the logistics of buying/bidding/returning which are seamless, M@C employees are the real reason to continue doing business. It's like Cheers where everybody knows your name and treat you as a friend. Perhaps if more people treated them as such their experiences would be that much more seamless. Can't say enough good things about them. Okay, so have I ever bought junk? Of course. The point is to avoid it or not pay too much for it. I've navigated that to some pretty great results. Brilliant forward thinking business model of which I'd love to study the buying habits of its customers. Not any named customer, just transactions to pen a psychological profile of capitalism/consumerism. I hope someone has access to this treasure in preparation of their doctorate. And hey, I'm right here if you appreciate the concept. @M@CM@C Discount

Garbage. I purchased an "open box" desk through the auction, presuming that open box meant that maybe some screws or something were missing. I get there to pick it up and the entire corner of the desk is clearly and I mean CLEARLY broken off. How this wasn't marked as "Damaged" from the start is beyond me. Don't give me the "you could have come and checked it out" BS. How about you actually mark it with the proper description before throwing it online for a bid. It's ridiculous that they're allowed to get away with this. There needs to be a clause that allows a misrepresented item to be returned with a no questions asked full refund. If it was marked properly from the start, this predicament could have been avoided. It's just an awful business practice to purposely deceive bidders and not accurately portray an item. Never again.M@C Discount

I suggest people take the insurance out on electronic equipment and do a inspection of the item before hand doing so helps clarify your purchase ahead of time. On a very positive note, my family has been doing business for over a year now at the Pittsburgh Mills location and we all find and praise the staff for their willing to help and courteous daminor.M@C Discount

Denied access to the items I purchased; employee "Just wanted to go home." Based on winning several auctions on 10/17 I received 2 emails from M@c Bids, one invoice and one reminding me of the pick up window. Both emails and their website says the hours are until 8 PM on Tues/Thurs. On Thur 10/19/2023 I came to pick up my merchandise at the Warren, OH location; the bay doors were open and other customers were picking up and loading vehicles. I showed my barcode but the employee said they were closed and that pick ups are not allowed past 7:45PM. He said that they sent out an email months ago. I tried to explain that I was a new customer and would not have gotten the email so I had no way of knowing that the hours weren't actually until 8 PM. In addition, I showed him my invoice and the website showing that items are available for pick up before 8PM. He then points to a white board and says "See, the board says you can't pick up." We review the board and it simply says that it closes at 8. He then says "We have a print out!" He goes to a desk and digs out a laminated 8.5x11 piece of paper and says "See. This piece of paper says you can't pick up." I explained to him that we had driven 4 hours one way and based our timing on the information provided by the company. We had no way of knowing that important information we needed was on a laminated piece of paper buried under a pile of papers on a desk. He said "Look, we just want to go home." I emailed customer service and received the same response "We sent out an email." I was not a registered user of M@c Bids at the time the email was sent out. I relied on the information they provided in not one, not two, but 3 separate communications. I've asked to have the auctions canceled as i was denied access to my merchandise during published business hours. The hours on their business documents and website need to be updated to reflect their actual pick up hours.M@C Discount

After reviewing the email communications, it has been determined this customer was refunded her items in Warren on 10/120. We did mention that final check in was 745 in the email thread we sent out earlier in the month, but given the time frame of this scenario, we did decide to refund the items. We are not 100% sure on what this complaint is for then?
