I am new at this but learning. I won 3 matress toppers, all of which were in good shape and unopened. Also won a sound bar of which we were pleased. We won gas logs yet to install. Were hoping they work. We were unhappy a no scratch skillet we won was not only scratched up but filthy. Im thinking whoever returned it was assuming it would get pitched. We paid for it then pitched it. It was not usable. We won a broken fireplace set. Fortunately we had a friend who fixed it. We were bidding on a billard table and a tennis top table for the billard table. As suggested, since the billard table was an expensive item, we went to the warehouse to see it before bidding. Yes, it was an open box as it mentioned but it was on the bottom of other boxes of which we could not get into this box to inspect it. HUGE MISTAKE to bid on this. We won both the billard table and the table tennis top for it. The top seems ok. However, even after making a trip to the warehouse, we won a billard table for $227.63 that we had to put right in the dumpster from the warehouse. Calling to complain is useless. That crushed table should never have been auctioned. Dented, missing pieces, broken are expected, but when somethings at the point of no return, especially expensive items, they should pitch it immediately. Weve been leery to bid anymore since getting bit . Beware when you see a lot of the same items for auction. Ask yourself why are so many returned.

As an auction liquidator, M@C Discount runs auctions runs auctions on items that were returned to big box retailers for any reason. When a customer registers to bid with us, they are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Those terms and conditions can easily be referenced at https://www.**************************.
The items that the customer mentioned were condition code "Open Box." I will paste the Open Box condition code for reference.
2.10.2 Open Box – Open Box items were sold by a retailer, and potentially used before being returned by the customer. Open Box items may be damaged or have an opened box with missing pieces, so unless the condition of a specific item is explicitly stated, User should not make any assumptions about it other than that it may be ripped, scratched, non-functional or otherwise damaged. All Open Box items are sold AS/IS. M@C makes all items available for inspection prior to bidding, it is the responsibility of the User to inspect all items before placing a bid on the Site.
With all of this being said, the customer did have some options available, Many of our items are available for inspection before a bid is placed. A lot of our items do qualify for the Buyer's Assurance. I will paste the Buyer's Assurance policy point for reference.
2.16. Buyers Assurance - A User may elect to purchase “Buyers Assurance” for any individual item in the auction. This purchase is elected at the time the bid is placed in the auction. The cost varies based on the product characteristics. The Buyers Assurance product allows the User to return the Item, for which the product was purchased, within 5 Business Days following the date the Item was picked up. This return is treated as a Buyers Assurance return, and a reason is not required to process the refund. The Buyers Assurance fee will not be refunded.
Auction liquidation can be a learning curve for many people. This process also isn't for everyone, but we are sorry the customer feels this way. If our terms and conditions are followed, this process can be a great thing for many people. Thank you.

When customers register to bid with us, they are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Those terms and conditions can be referenced at https://www.**************************. This customer is not shedding a fair light on auction liquidation and how M@C Discount operates. Many of our items are readily available to be inspected before a customer places their bid. If a customer is not able to inspect an item, they can look into adding the Buyer's Assurance to that item. I will paste the Buyer's Assurance policy for reference. 2.16. I have bought my fair share of things. Most have been okay. I expect if an item is going to be damaged to the point it can’t even be put together for it to be listed as DAMAGED as seen on some items. I also expect it it is missing parts that you can’t even put it together to be listed as MISSING PARTS as seen on some items as well. Disappointed in the last couple of big ticket items I purchased that I paid a decent price for and can’t even use them. Definitely changed my mind on going there any more for items.

This customer is leaving out or is confused about a lot of key details here. First, we allow customers to inspect many of our items before they ever place their bid. They are always more than welcome to come in to any warehouse and inspect items and if they don't think it is worth bidding on, then they do not have to bid. They did elude to the ****************** which we do offer on many of our items. Also, I am not 100% sure on what they mean by "transport" fee? If they mean our partner company PorchShip, then they are complete separate entity from us. Any type of refund for that delivery would be completely up to them. If we could get the name on this customer's account, I can maybe investigate some of these claims further. We are truly sorry the customer feels this way. Auction liquidation isn't always for everyone, but if the terms and conditions are followed, it can be a great thing for many people.

I am a frequent M@c and maintain a monthly membership. I have purchased many, many items and only had to return 2 in all my purchases and neither were the fault of M@C. The staff is very nice at our pick up center. That being said, I recently won a child's play tool bench through turbo auction. I paid for shipping from the location. I received a Laptop table NOT the tool bench. I reached out to customer service and ****** advised to take it to a manager, which I did. The manager said they couldn't prove it came from M@C and would not accept it. (Plain shipping label which is exactly the same as the one on the previous play mat I won and had shipped.) I reached back out to ****** because I want the tool.bench I won for my grandson. I was advised there was nothing further that could be done. I would recommend being cautious about having items shipped for this reason.

Absolutely horrible, items stated as open box are severely damaged and/or have pieces missing. If it is an open box they should be able to look at the item and describe it correctly. Out of 5 item I bought today, 4 of them are completely unusable due to damage or major parts missing. I am afraid to open the 5th item. I will NEVER go there again. My bids are OVER!!!

Buyer beware. I purchased furnace air filters from M@C Bid. The photos that were posted on the M@C site said that they were the Filtrete brand. My bid was the winning bid. When I went to pick them up, I opened the boxes and discovered they were Amazon ******************. Amazon ****************** are 1/2 inch smaller in height and width and depth. I told the person at M@C warehouse that this was false advertising. His response was the the buyer is informed to come look at any product before bidding on it. He said they use stock photos since these were not Filtrete brand, as their photo had shown. As stated in other reviews, they kept my insurance money and will now put the filters back up for sale using the wrong stock photo. Scam!

Those terms and conditions can easily be referenced at https://www.mac.bid/conditions-of-sale.This customer is not being 100% accurate with his claims. When we pull stock photos from Amazon they are for reference purposes only. We never suggest customers make assumption on the item based on the stock photo. We do encourage item inspection before bidding, and getting the ****************** which they did in this case. The item was specifically listed as " AC Furnace Air Filters" with no brand name given. Also, in the photos that our scan line took, you can see where they are labeled as **************. Even with this information, the customer still had the opportunity to come in and inspect before a bid was placed. We are sorry the customer feels this way. What this customer is claiming is totally and categorically false. M@C Discount is an auction liquidation company that runs auctions on items returned to big box retailers for any reason. When customers register to ***********, they are agreeing to our terms and conditions. Those terms and conditions can be easily referenced at https://www.mac.bid/conditions-of-sale.If this customer was unhappy with getting the assurance, then they were more than welcome to come in and inspect their item before bidding. The assurance is very much a perk to return an item for any reason, but it is completely optional. M@C Discount, a vast majority of the time, will just write off items returned to us as damaged and throw them away. On occasion, we will re-list returns if we believe them to be viable to re-list. Anything wrong with the returned item though is noted in the new auction. Those items are also available for inspection before bidding and a customer can always inquire about adding the assurance as well.We are very sorry the customer feels this way. The pressure of the Holidays does tend to get to people. Auction liquidation isn't always for everyone. If customers follow the terms and conditions, auction liquidation can be a great thing for many people. Thank you.
