    I went with JG Wentworth to work myself back to financial freedom. I spoke with ******* and he quoted me one amount and I signed that amount. I also payed a couple months the amount we agreed upon then it went up $75.00. I still paid the amount over the next 6 months because I believed the company was helping me. I believed my biweekly payments were going towards my debit. To my reality, only 10% was going towards my debt and rest towards maintenance fees, lawyer fees. Account fee, and etc. Therefore, I decided to cancel out of the program with JG Wentworth. I called and spoke with ********* M and abruptly she says, You cannot get your money back that we held in your retainer. Why not since its my money and you havent paid my creditors? She could not answer me. Therefore, I want all my money back that I put into the program that was not sent to my creditors and your fees. Apparently, JG Wentworth only called to settled the account but did not send the money.

    We are sorry to hear about your experience while in our debt resolution program. As per the agreement you entered with JG Wentworth on 08/30/2024, we are entitled to collect fees owed for approved settlements. During your time in the program, we settled five creditors which you approved prior to us making the first payment. On the settlements we proposed, shows the monthly payment to be made to each creditor. Since the first payment was paid after your approval, we entitled to collect our full fees. We are owed $2,402.95 on the five settlements and only collected $1,500.05. The remaining $897.30 will not be collected at this time.

    I signed up for debt relief program but after talking more about it with my wife we have decided to cancel which it states we can do at any time. Here is where the issue lies I have called and emailed to cancel the program but no one is getting back to me. I would like this taken care of before the first payment is due. When I call they say my representative is in the office and they will send her a message then transfer me to her phone. Whenever they transfer me it say the extension is not available please leave a message so I do I have left 4 and 1 email and still they have not gotten back to me. Please help me get this resolved.

    We apologize for the lack of communication. JG Wentworth only handles the enrollment portion of the debt resolution program for the *************************** law firm.     I contacted them about a consolidation loan, they recommended debt settlement which I am not interested in. I told them this on the phone, and they said they would not be presenting that option and they took my application. They then pitched a debt settlement option which I again told them I was not interested in. I have been getting several calls per day for weeks from them. I tell them to take me off the list and block the number, and they call me from a different number every time. Each time they call I say please take me off your list I am not interested, and yet they keep calling.

    I paid JG Wentworth a total of ****** dollars for debt cancellation on 11/29, 12/13, 12/17. But I decided to discontinue service when I realized the company was not helping me with my debt I cancelled services on Dec 31 2024 by calling customer service. And by sending an email to retrieve my money back. JG Wentworth reimburse me with only ****** and not the total amount. I was told I had to wait 7-10 business days and then another 3 days for the request to process. I have waited for 18 days now and I called to ask for my money and was told I had to wait yet another 3-5 days because something happened and they did not process my request. After calling again they keep providing me with the same answer to wait 3-5 business days even after waiting this time I have yet to receive my money. I have a remaining balance due of ******

    After review of your file, a refund was sent out 1/18/2025 via direct deposit in the amount of $644.47. During your time in the program, you deposited a total of $744.24 into your *** escrow account. There were two other drafts returned for insufficient funds and the one for January 15, 2025, was cancelled. The total that you deposited was $738.24. The $644.47 refund is because deductions for the *** Pay escrow account and the ****** & ***** Law legal fee that you opted into. Those totals were $39.80 for *** and ****** & ***** fees were $53.97. If you have anymore questions or still have not received the refund, please reach out directly to our office.

    I entered into debt resoultion on 12/7/25 or around that date. That was my first deposit into a "savings account" to pay my crediors. From 12/7-1/7, there has only been $5 paid to my creditors and the rest has been with fees with the program. JG Wentworth had a set 25% of each enrolled debt upon settlement approval and first payment to creditor. The debt for the one settled was **************** Personal Loan. Amount would be $2,654.00 that was enrolled and 25% equalled $663.50. They took $7 and .09 in December. They scheduled $656.41 to come out Jan 23. I called to unenroll on the 17th after settling JCPenny myself and finding out a settlement doesn't zero out my balance, I still have to pay it. The person I talked to told me I wouldn't get a ***** back. JGWentworth changed the date for the "fee" to come out. They changed it to January 20th. If you look at the attachment, they were also going to charge me over $500 extra in fees if I had not cancelled. They are refusing to cancel on the 17th like I asked and return my money so they can send in a $50 payment (thats the required amount) and get another $123 for a settlement fee, but when I cancelled with them it cancelled the settlement. I would be out more than I was in debt if I would have continued with this program.

    As per our agreement you entered on 11/20/2024, we are entitled to our full fee once you approve a settlement, and a payment has been made. As you mention, we obtain a settlement with your **************** account which you approved and on that settlement proposal we lay out the term plan for repayment. We do this to be able to obtain more settlements as your funds build up in your dedicated savings account. On 12/28/2024, we made the first payment to ****************, so we are now able to receive our full fee. Since you cancelled the program, we are entitled to take the our remaining fees available and that is why you saw the draft on 1/20/2025. Once the cancellation process is complete, you will receive the remaining funds from your savings account, and you are able to see this on your CFT portal.     I am rejecting this response because:
    The dashboard on the *** account and CFT was updated when I called and cancelled and it included a $50 payment to *********** and $123 settlement fee where that account was also settled but it changed after I submitted this complaint thru BBB. I paid in over $1100.00 and $10 was sent to **************** and I received $339 back from funds that was sent in. Its designed that *** gets their money before creditors do.

    Signed up with Company to what they claimed was to settle my debt and be back to credit freedom and restoration of my credit. After Several months in the program I contacted them inquiry about my credit not getting better they insisted that it takes time. After 28 months I decided that enough was enough, nothing had been done to see credit improving. So I decide to cancel the service. I have been asking for disbursement letter or statement on all the funds they took from me and whom they sent money to as promised. Here we fast forward now I have company calling and suing me for the monies owed. and still no account of it all. After call after call still no resolve. They have nothing for me to show for it, I can y belief that this allowed something needs to happen. I ask that some one please reach back to me regarding this ASAP Started 4/15/2021 ended 7/11/2023

    I contacted JG Wentworth Debt Solutions on 10/6/24 we discussed some options went over a lot of things i signed some paperwork and then less than 24 hours later i canceled via email. I was informed that this was acceptable as a form of cancelation. 10/9/24 someone contacted me via telephone to confirm the cancelation. 10/29/24 one of my credit cards was closed without my permission after i had paid off 18k. This was my longest running credit card and i lost years of building up that account.

    I sold an annuity to the company back in 2013 under the last name ****** at the time. Since then, they continue to harass me by mail and by phone to do business with them again. I have asked them repeatedly to remove my name and number from their contact list, I have blocked the numerous numbers they use, I have reported them to the *** and it still continues.     I refuse to patronize ANY company or organization, including flighty ones, that addresses me by the last name *******. Any company that does sets off triggers, pours salt in wounds that are trying to heal... is right back there with my ex-husband pointing his gun at my head. This company is NO exception.

    There is NO need for them to have MY current info, such as my LEGAL NAME, EMAIL or PHONE number.  They did NOT contact me with my LEGAL NAME, EMAIL or PHONE number.  They sent me a junk letter in the post with the reference number KEY11PREQ, dated Dec 27, 2024. And I just sent you a copy of their letter via separate email notice.  I urge you to attach it to my complaint.  While I might not be able to do that on my end, I am sure they will be fascinated with it once it is reviewed.

    JG Wentworth sends out gift cards with a stipulation that you call to get a quote on what the payoff would be on a structured settlement. After you make the phone call, listen to how much they want to pay you for your settlement they are supposed to activate a gift card. Every single time that I have called there has been excuse after excuse on why they cannot activate the gift card. In the past I have been told that the person who activate those cards are on lunch or dinner. I called today, I got the quote for what they would pay for my settlement and then was told that the card I had was not in their system. The person I was speaking to told me they would call me back in a few hours. After waiting about 5 hours I called back and I was told that the card had expired. Nowhere on the paper that explains how to get the card says anything about an expiration date. I feel this is false advertising since this is not the first time that they have not activated the gift card after giving me their quote. I was told to wait and once I got the card for January then to call right away and I would get my $50 gift card. again as I said there is no expiration date on when I have to call the only stipulation is I can only get one card every month no matter how many offers they send **** have asked numerous times in the past for them to quit sending me the offers to take me off their mailing list, and phone list. If they cannot make good on their offer then I do not want to hear from them.

    The promotional gift cards that you mention are only good for the month you received it in. After reviewing, you called in during the month of January 2025 with a December 2024 gift card which expired December 31, 2024. Our representatives are not able to activate those items due to the expiration date. We do apologize and we have marked your information as do not contact. Please note that our marketing materials are created 7-10 weeks in advance, so you may receive some more items in the mail.
