1 starI was paying them a high amount each month to take care of my creditors. I thought everything was being taken care of. Next thing I know, Im being summoned to court for two unpaid creditors, who were supposed to be included in the plan. With each attempt to contact JG, I was put on hold or transferred with no resolution. I ended up canceling my payment agreement with them!! Very disappointed and discouraged!Review fromCatherine K

They rate your payment on the sum of what you owe then negotiate hundreds off the debt. You pay the full debt but they get the money the companies wrote off. Hundreds if not thousands. Then only do a few the first 6 months then try to get you to get their loan with who knows how much APR. better to negotiate yourself. Dont fall for it.

Scam! They take there fees(over 3k) and paid my creditors 300 dollars after 5 months. Called multiple times, always on hold or hung up on to get clarification of how and when they would settle with creditors. They settled(set up payment plan) for 2 of 9 accounts and the rest of the accounts went to charge off status. I was uninformed and take responsibility for debt accrued but JG Wentworth is a scam with predatory fees. My credit went from low 800(was current on everything but slowly going under when I called JG Wentworth) to under 500 now, 6 months later. DO NOT USE JG WENTWORTH.J.G. Wentworth

This place is a joke!! I enrolled in the debt relief. My loan was $6000. They got it down 50%. A little over $3200. I come to find out that they only made 2 payments to the credit. I fount the fees and they were $2900. Why would I continue with these mother fu?,kers. The creditor called me and we made a a settlement agreement. I made payments to JG and i called and was told my payments went to their fees. Be careful and stay away from this scam!!J.G. Wentworth

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My husband and I went with them under the impression this would consolidate our debt and work with creditors and not ruin our credit. We were not behind on payments and had fair to good credit at this point. Within in 5 months they only settled 3 accounts, ruined our credit and took astronomical fees out and some were made up after we cancelled their service and started working ourselves to undo what they did with our creditors. i had over $1700 in fees in 4 months and my fees were more than half of my settlement amounts. My husband had a balance in his JG account of $3600 when he cut ties with this company and the next day they charged him a SETTLEMENT FEE of $3600! How convenient. With no explanation. WORK WITH YOUR CREDITORS ON YOUR OWN IF YOU ARE OVERWHELMED - THEY DO CARE AND WILL WORK WITH YOU IF YOU JUST CALL AND TRY. DO NOT USE JG WENTWORTH!J.G. Wentworth

JG Wentworth in association with Arnold and smith will take your money promising to help with debt consolidation and talk to creditors in your behalf .They will not do such of thing. Once they have your bank information the communication will stop, your phone calls don't go though , your emails are ignored. however they still take the money out of your bank mean while your accounts are delinquent because they never establish communication with the creditors.
Do not consider their services as a solution you will regret itJ.G. Wentworth

This is an updated review. If you are considering a debt relief program, please look elsewhere. I'm going again to court for the third time in less than a year with the same creditor. That creditor is one that JG Wentworth is to resolve my debt. I have been enrolled in this program with Wentworth for 2 years with 2 years remaining. I reported/faxed to Wentworth all correspondences from that creditor. I was told that the information would be turned over to a team and they would get back with me. They NEVER did. Every time I contacted them about the same concern and problem, it was always the same response. Now the court has locked my funds at my bank. My car payment is behind. All other bills are in jeopardy of falling behind. If they were not going to solve the problem for whatever reason, they did not have to lie saying their team would get back with me. Instead of telling me that I would have to contact the creditor and resolve it myself. That creditor would have been removed from the list that they are to work on a resolution. Also reducing the money that I would owe them. All they had to do was to be honest. Now my credit is worse than ever. Please consider another company for debt relief and do not take a chance of experiencing what I am going through. My bank told me that this was the worst thing that I could have done. Please do your homework and find a Service that you feel has a concern and sincere about your needs.J.G. Wentworth
