  They were unable to deliver propane early this year as the tank was too rusted so said they would install a new tank. They never did and after repeated phone calls they finally said they couldn't get us a new tank for an undetermined amount of time. We found another company (who was cheaper and more local) so asked that Amerigas credit our account for the rental they had charged for this year because we have not been able to get gas or use their tank. It took repeated phone calls before they finally credited the rental amount. However, they never sent us the refund so more phone calls later they said they don't pay us back until they pick up the tank. We told them to come pick up the tank as soon as possible (several times) as we'd made other arrangements and needed it gone (as well as wanting our rental fee back). They keep saying someone will be here when they can. It has been several months and they keep saying that. Meanwhile, we had to move the tank out of way ourselves so we could install the new tank from the other company and finally have propane after nearly a year of dealing with Amerigas' incompetence. I guess their old unusable tank will continue to sit there and be unsightly and in the way until they come or we pursue some kind of legal or other channel to get them to remove it. If you have any other choice, do not use Amerigas.

  BEWARE! AVOID!!! RUN! PLEASE READ & PICK ANOTHER PROPANE COMPANY! This has been a complete nightmare.
  I have been calling Amerigas since Feb 2022 to cancel my account and have a propane tank removed. It's now SEPTEMBER 2022 and my account has not been canceled and they keep charging me!!!
  I was charged over $2,000 in propane for 3 months - wow (1300 sq ft. VACANT home no heat running) In April 2022 I called in a possible leak in my tank as this was an obnoxious amount to be paying in 3 short months- this would be considered a hazardous emergency - NO ONE CALLED OR CAME OUT! They really care about the environment huh?
  When you call the "customer service line" they will tell you they don't have an "agent ID" and cannot give out their name in order to know who it is you are speaking with. I was hung up on more than a few times when an agent can't answer specific company questions.
  The "agent" knows there's nothing they can do - they are not in the business of allowing people to cancel an account. They will also charge you a fee if you end your service before three years... they don't tell you this they just charge you for it.
  Since Feb 2022 I have spoken with over 6 representatives from "amerigas" (there is no management and no one to speak with to escalate an issue they say)
  I have gotten nowhere. This is truly a scary company to do business with!!! Do not sign with amerigas. they will be your worst nightmare.

  Worst company ever. Price gouging, long wait for propane up to 25 days, made up fees. Horrible customer service. Being blackmailed with additional 210.00 because I cannot use enough propane. Cannot resolve complaint. Customer service just puts you on hold then disconnects

  We have been loyal customers of Amerigas for over 25 years and we are quitting their service. The local office closed down and when we had a Generac installed, Amerigas charged $1000 to have a larger gas line installed to our house. They charged $100 just to give their estimate for the service but did not tell us they charged for estimates. We were handed a Invoice on date of estimate which did not include the $100 estimate fee. We got that estimate charge after larger gas line was installed and we had paid in full. We now get charged $7.50 if we call for refills instead of using their online service. We have 2 tanks and each tank has a required amount of gas that must be used each year. We are changing to a local company that combines the usage of both tanks for a lower gas requirement and we can talk to local people that own the company. I will never recommend Amerigas again.

  They took money out of my account twice for no reason. I did not give them permission to do this and they gave me no notification. They took the propane tanks. They were full. I didn't get much of a refund back because they charged me a bunch of fees.

  Terrible service, takes advantage on pricing if you lease a tank from them. Makes appointments to pick up tank over a period of 2 MONTHS and does not show up for any of multiple appointments or call to let us know they are not coming. How do they even rate one star?

  My old company sold out to these people and when I went to switch to a new company for $3 less a gallon, I was told that I’d be charged $160 for early termination. I never signed a contract with this company. They told me the service agreement is on the back of the bill and just receiving it is confirmation of acceptance. Took them 5 months to get their tank off my property and charged me a late fee. The worst company I’ve ever dealt with.

  I made an appointment for delivery August 18 2022. They said they would be here between August 19th and August 25th. August 25th came and still no delivery, at this point I have run out. I called and they said for $300 I can have an emergency delivery. I refused because if they came when they said they would, I wouldn't have run out. The customer service is horrible. The reps talk over you, and tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. I have 2 companies coming this week to speak with about changing. I can't wait to be out from Amerigas. I have never in my life dealt with such an incompetent company. I wish I could leave zero stars. I know my complaint, and removal of my business will not do anything to them, but hopefully someone sees this review, thinks twice about using this company. Hopefully I can save them the headache that myself and so many other people have gone through. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  This business takes advantage of the consumer at most communication. They arenotreputable. and do not stand by their quotes. Received a quote, ten days later I called back to order my pre-buy contract. The price quoted previously was increased by $1,17 / gallon.

  We have an Amerigas tank and we are not allowed to paint it. Since we moved here in 2019 the paint is all peeled and bare spots, etc. We recently called to set an appointment to have it painted and it now has taken 12 phone calls as each time they scheduled the appointment, no one has shown up nor had we received any calls to cancel the appointment! Needless to say we have been on the phone with them for no less than an hour each time. I put in the 13th call today and now they said the will be here tomorrow from 1:30 to 2:30. At this point, I would not really have faith that it will happen. I went to their website and found 271 complaints with 36 resolved and 245 unresolved!! This is our last straw if they fail to show up, we will have them removed their tank and go with a company that is locally available.
