      CARS followed through and paid for a rather expensive part (power steering gear) which I very much appreciated. I still had to pay for diagnostics, labor, alignment and taxes, and was without a car for 6 weeks. It wasn't a 5-star experience, but appreciated none the less.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:CARS appreciates your feedback and is happy to have been able to assist with the mechanical claim made on behalf of your vehicle.CARS apologizes that the mechanical claim took longer than expected as CARS strives to process mechanical claims in a timely matter; however, sometimes there are factors outside of both CARS and the repair facilitys control that can cause a delay in the processing of a mechanical claim. This mechanical claim was opened and authorized on August 02, 2023, and on September 06, 2023, your repair facility contacted CARS explaining that the part the repair facility had ordered had not arrived and was on a back order with no ETA. The repair facility requested to cancel the original part and order an aftermarket part. CARS provided this authorization on September 06, 2023.Regarding the labor on the mechanical claim, there were two (2) hours of labor paid on this claim. Your *************** Contract (VSC) assists with up to $60.00 per hour on a covered mechanical repair and your repair facility charged $192.00 per hour; therefore, you were responsible for the difference.       I have had a great experience so far with CARS. Claims process has been smooth, and no issues or delays with my dealership contacting them. I have purchased many extended warranties, and you need to read all the details and ask questions when it comes to the variety of options for the contracts. They have done a great job covering my repairs, and some of them have been very expensive. I am glad that I purchased this warranty

      This company is a horrific company to work with. They will lie and do anything to get our of covering any sort of repairs that are contractually bound! My car shop and I have had to contact the warranty place over 20 + times regarding my claim. Plus I had to keep calling to find out the status of my claim. The Cars warranty company says they will pay for all your repairs, however that's just a blatant lie. Their "adjuster" Diamond, knows nothing about trucks, transmission or even what an oil pan is. I am floored that a company can send someone like this out to verify issues when she literally didn't know what putting a car in neutral meant. Every time I call claims someone answers with a sigh and has a terrible attitude. They blatantly lied about the shop putting the truck on the lift, there is audio and video of the adjuster lying to the shop owners. I am really floored with this company. I have been verbally accosted by the claims department, which the exception of Herald who is amazing. It was a terrible purchase on my part because I trusted a car dealer just as shady as the cars protection that's probably why they promote it so hard because they are affiliated.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:CARS was unable to locate a *************** Contract (***) in your name; however, CARS was able to locate the *** and mechanical claim you are referring to. On September 13, 2023, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of CARS contract holders vehicle, requesting an oil pan gasket and a transmission. CARS claims adjuster explained to the repair facility that there would need to be a covered mechanical failure demonstrated to the transmission for CARS to authorize a transmission replacement. CARS claims adjuster explained that CARS would send a third-party inspector and requested the repair facility drop the transmission pan in front of the inspector.On September 15, 2023, the independent inspection company tried twice to schedule the vehicles inspection and the repair facility told the third-party inspector that they were not ready for the inspection; therefore, the inspection was scheduled for a later date of September 19, 2023.On September 18, 2023, CARS claims adjuster contacted the repair facility and verified that the inspection was to take place the next day, September 19, 2023.On September 19, 2023, the third-party inspector arrived at the repair facility to find the vehicle parked in a parking lot instead of on a lift and ready for the transmission pan to be dropped. The repair facility would not facilitate a pan drop; therefore, the third-party inspector was unable to verify a cause of failure to the vehicles transmission. The third-party inspector crawled under the vehicle and was able to verify the oil pan gasket failure. The independent inspection company provided CARS with pictures taken at the time of inspection and the vehicle is located in a parking lot, not on a lift inside the repair facility.On September 21, 2023, after receiving and reviewing the inspection report, CARS claims adjuster contacted the repair facility and explained that CARS would need the repair facility to perform a transmission pan drop and provide CARS with proof of a covered cause failure to the transmission before CARS could authorize a transmission replacement.On September 27, 2023, CARS had still not received the requested diagnostic information for the transmission failure; therefore, CARS claims adjuster called the repair facility. The repair facility stated the vehicle had not been brought inside the repair facility for diagnostic testing yet.CARS provided an assistance quote for the verified oil pan gasket failure; however, to date, the repair facility has not provided proof of, or cause of transmission failure, and CARS cannot authorize a transmission replacement without proof of a covered cause of failure. CARS has requested the repair facility provide CARS with the video you referred to in your review, and the repair facility is either unable or unwilling to provide the video to CARS. Please have either the repair facility or CARS contract holder provide the video to CARS claims department and CARS will review the video.CARS hopes this information was helpful.Sincerely,The ************************ la

      Car needed to have a switch replaced that is under the valve cover. Shop called CARS to get the process started. Shop was told that the repair wouldnt be covered because they only cover issues that are inside the engine. Well if you have to remove the valve cover to get to it, its inside the engine. They just dont want to honor the warranty and so came up with a phony reason. Going to call the dealership and suggest they go with a different company because this one is a scam. Then Im going to file a fraud case with the state attorney general office.

This mechanical claim was denied as neither of these components are listed for coverage on your Power Train ********************* Contract (VSC). VVT solenoids are electrical components that regulate the timing of the engines valves. There is no electrical coverage on your VSC.       This warranty company was a waste of money. My car shop had to contact the warranty place over 10 times regarding my claim. Plus I had to keep calling them several times to find out the status of my claim. The Cars warranty company says they will pay for all your repairs, however that's not true. The paperwork I signed stated it would pay for some of the wear and tear items (ie. AC compressor, condensor, etc). However that is a lie. Cars only paid 1/3 the portion of the repairs. Big rip-off. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:Your *************** Contract (VSC) is not a full coverage contract, your VSC is designed to offset the cost of covered mechanical repairs.CARS has reviewed the mechanical claim you are referring to and determined that it was adjudicated correctly according to the Terms and Conditions of your VSC. The mechanical claim was opened, authorized, and paid in four (4) days, with the only brief delay occurring when the repair facility contacted CARS to add an additional component after CARS claims adjuster had already provided a quoted assistance amount for the initially requested repairs.During the adjudication of the mechanical claim, you were provided with two options on how to receive the parts for the covered mechanical repairs. You had the option to have CARS ship CARS supplied parts and assist with the labor or take the claim allowance and have the repair facility supply the parts. You chose to take the claim allowance and have the repair facility supply the parts; therefore, if the repair facilities parts were more expensive, you were responsible for the difference.You are also responsible for any difference in labor rate, taxes, and $100 deductible.       The staff is very nice but the decision about my truck did not make sense, the mechanic shop found a 2015 rebuilt engine for 2200 it was rebuilt and had a 2 and a half year warranty, they denied doing they wanted to get a used transmission with a 30 day warranty for 700 and pay like 700 for labor to put the transmission in. It's 2023 guys they on pay 75 dollars for labor they haven't payed that in labor since the late 90s I ended up paying the whole thing myself, but I had to keep calling them for my reimbursement check the department s clearly don't communicate with each other. Then it took weeks to find a mechanic too fix my truck with only 75 dollar labor limit . Dont let these car dealers con you into wasting your money buying these low rate places,after all the frustration you would rather just pay for it yourself . This has been the worst most unprofessional experience I've ever had eventhough I paid for this I will never use it again it was a terrible experience eventhough the employees are nice they know it's just a scam as well but it's job for them so I get it . But it was a terrible purchase on my part because I trusted a car dealer just as shady as the cars protection thats probably why they promote it so hard because they are affiliated. I paid 2300 for a rebuilt Transmission with a 2 and 1/2 year warranty and I paid 1250 for labor, cars protection Plus authorized a check for only 1980 you do the math who can actually get that type of work for under 2000? If you get and extended warranty like this make sure you go over all the stipulations before buying it. I trusted my car dealer like a dummy and paid the price for it.

      The CARS Protection Plus Inc. (“CARS”) Customer Care Department is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows: First, regarding the hourly labor rate on your Vehicle Service Contract (“VSC”), when purchasing the VSC, you were given two (2) options to choose as an hourly labor rate on a covered mechanical repair, $75.00 per hour OR the repair facility’s posted hourly rate up to $160.00 per hour. You chose $75.00 per hour; therefore, that is the maximum amount CARS can assist with on a covered mechanical repair. During the adjudication of the mechanical claim made on behalf of your vehicle for a transmission you were given two (2) options on how to receive the covered parts. You had the option to have CARS ship CARS’ supplied parts and assist with the labor OR take the claim allowance and have the repair facility supply the parts. CARS’ supplied parts offered a warranty that was 90-days parts and labor or upon contract expiration, whichever came first. You chose to take the claim allowance and use the repair facility’s supplied parts; therefore, you were responsible for the difference, if any, between the cost of CARS’ supplied parts and the cost of the repair facility’s parts. This information can be found in the Terms and Conditions of your VSC at Provision 5. (f.): 5. SERVICE CONTRACT CLAIM PROCEDURES: FAILURE BY YOU OR YOUR REPAIR FACILITY TO FOLLOW THESE CLAIM PROCEDURES MAY DELAY AND/OR RESULT IN CLAIM DENIAL. TO AVOID DELAY, FOLLOW THE CLAIM PROCEDURES LISTED BELOW: f. We have the option to select used, rebuilt or aftermarket components when authorizing repairs. For authorized claims totaling in excess of Your deductible (if any), You may have the choice to select either a third-party component or take a claim allowance to specifically be used towards Your repair. CARS apologizes for the delay in your receiving payment for the mechanical claim. CARS received an incomplete final invoice on July 12, 2023, and tried numerous times to obtain a completed final invoice, containing the information needed for CARS to issue payment. CARS did not receive the completed final invoice until August 25, 2023, and issued payment to you on that same date. In the future, the requirements for a completed final invoice to request payment from CARS are located at Provision 5. (i.): 5. SERVICE CONTRACT CLAIM PROCEDURES: FAILURE BY YOU OR YOUR REPAIR FACILITY TO FOLLOW THESE CLAIM PROCEDURES MAY DELAY AND/OR RESULT IN CLAIM DENIAL.       Had no issues using the extended warranty. Covered everything that was listed in purchased plan and got my car back quickly. The dealership I took my car too had no issues when calling the claim in. Paid for itself with this one use! Great aftermarket warranty company!

      I called spoke with a lady who was not very friendly at all. my car lot has me using this to fix my AC an per there requirements my car has to stay with the mechanic for the whole time before fixing , during, an after until the claim is closed. they don't refund the full amount for a rental. an even if the car is don't with in the same day , GUESS WHAT IT STILL HAS TO STAY AT THE ******* WHICH IS ALSO GETTING STORAGE FEE PER DAY THAT THEY DONT PAY FOR. THEY ONLY REIMBURSE 25 BUCKS A DAY. AN ITS A TIGHT STIPULATION ON THIS. So tell me how is one to get back an forth to work or even justify how many days ill need transportation for if the person who does the claims are so far behind... this seems like a scam....so my car will sit for a week or two just to fix a ac condenser. mean while the rental is 35 a day with 250 deposit an a credit card. not everyone uses credit cards. so now what do your customers do? this should be a two day process at the most... but NOPE...... BIG SCAMMMMM........ IM GOING TO LET THE CARLOT KNOW AS WELL. MAYBE THEY CAN CHANGE PLACES THEY USE IF THEY CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMERS. WHICH IT SHOWING THIS CARLOT AN THIS CAR PLUS IS THE SAME.......
