      Anthropologie - customer service MIA
Anthropologie - great clothes if you can get them and if (good luck) you can reach customer service. For years, Anthropologie was my "go to" choice for interesting, fashionable, "different" clothing items. But lack of service sent me to Saks, Banana Republic, Not Your Daughter's Jeans, JCrew, and other competitors, especially online.
Today, I decided to give it one more try because there were a few items I couldn't find elsewhere. Late last night (wee hours), I placed a major order. I woke up to find it was canceled! No explanation - canceled the entire order of over 10 items (not on sale). I tried to call customer service and was on hold for 40 minutes, then disconnected. I called back and selected the option for Anthropologie to call me back: never happened.
Then, I placed an order for three of the items - and it seems to have gone through. Separately, I placed an order for one more item - three times - and three times got a cancellation with no reason. I finally called the local store that told me the item is on back order (I knew that from the information online but placed the order - willing to wait).
OK, so these days, real customer service is hard to find. But Anthropologie seems to have reverted to a business model characterized by disdain for the customer, arrogance about its ability to get business with no customer service, and a total disregard for all of us whose money enables it to exist. Well, not this customer - not any more.

I have spent over$3,000 with Anthropologie in the last five months.I had an order that showed partially delivered however I noticed I didn’t receive. Viewed delivery confirmation n the picture wasn’t of my home. I viewed the address and it wasn’t an address of mine. When ordering I never have to pay attention to address because. I’ve only used one address but this time I noticed it was delivered elsewhere. I am still puzzled as to how the address got on my account. I called immediately letting them know I didn’t get the delivery and since the other half of the order hadn’t delivered would they please intercept it. I was told by the first rep wait until the other half deliver then file a claim. I told her I want get the other half because the address is incorrect . I called several times requesting to intercept the other half of the order every rep saying still they don’t do that. One rep filed a claim for the order I didn’t get for me to receive an email to say the order delivered file a police report r u kidding me. Finally one day I asked for a manager. I was stunned at the piss poor lack of concern the mgr Chloe gave as I advised I didn’t get the order n want get the part that hadn’t delivered. She told me to file a dispute with the bank so I did. I get an email saying they blocked me from ordering from them and the other stores they are affiliated with until I pay the $166. I was shocked. To make matters worse. I get an email from PayPal advising they want be giving me $166 back because the seller says order delivered. I just wanted what I paid for. Customer service lacked n then after reaching out to the courier about the other half of the order that didn’t deliver begging to not deliver I get an email that the seller requested it be returned so you could all of a sudden intercept since I disputed the charge like u told me. So now I am out of $166 nothing to show for it??. No resolution no concern for the customer. Buyer beware.

I have ordered from Anthropolgie a number of times, the last time, 2 weeks ago I was sent an email saying my order was cancelled, with NO explanation. I called and spoke with 2 people, neither of whom displayed any interest in being helpful, and was told a Resolution Dept. would contact me within 3 days. Two weeks and 5 phone calls later, I have yet to hear from anyone. The last person I spoke with did tell me it was connected to an order last December from Free People (not Anthropologie.) The incident they referred to was when, just before Christmas, I was sent someone else's order, and they were appartently sent my order. I returned the incorrect order per Free People's instructions, the very next day, and I received my (correct) order the next week. Meanwhile, 3 months later, in March, I placed an order with Free People, with no problems. Yet somehow Anthropolgie is refusing to do business with me over this. If there was an outstanding problem between Free People and me, why would Free People be sending me orders. The MOST outrageous thing, which I wanted to share, was how Anthropolgie Customer service rep's (all 5 of them!) have been very surly and the supposed" Resolution Department" has not bothered, in two weeks, to respond to my questions. This is the most outrageous and unbelievable treatment I have ever recieved from a company. To be treated like this when I have been a good customer, and when I did NOTHING wrong, is inexcusable. After reading other reviews of outrageous behavior from Anthropologie, I feel some agency (Better Business Bureau?) needs to look into this. Is it even legal to refuse to do business with someone when they have done nothing to warrant it? I genuinely would like to know, if this is legal? PLEASE BE AWARE that something is very sketchy about this company.

This company is deceiving Canadian customers selling in Canada using US currency. Ba aware, I was convinced that I am buying a product in Canada using Canadian dollar using Paypal. To my surprise I was charged in US currency. They have stores in Canada even the product was sent to me from Canada, but online does not tell you that. Very unprofessional, greedy.

Absolutely horrific experience using Anthropologie for my wedding registry. Over $200 worth of items purchased by family/friends was never delivered to my house. Three separate gifts over $70 were lost. Guests were purchasing gifts months before the wedding, believing that their gifts had arrived to my home. Anthropologie has absolutely no way of revealing who purchased your gift online. So, I assumed the gifts that were shown as purchased were mailed to the home of the purchaser, and would be hand-delivered to me at the wedding or a later date. And unbeknownst to me, you only have 30 days to report a missing package. If it is beyond 30 days, refunds are not an option with Anthropologie. So, I waited on my gifts, trying to allow time for shipping, and missed the 30-day deadline, and was told that there was nothing more that Anthropologie could do for me. I love the products at Anthropologie, and was really looking forward to receiving wedding gifts from them. But this is a complete disappointment and a waste of money. I’d highly recommend registering through Target, Amazon, or somewhere more reliable and user-friendly online.

The lamp I ordered from Anthropologie had a wood base. I took it out of the box and set it up in an office space on a Friday. When I returned on Monday, I noticed piles of dust around it. Upon closer inspection, I saw that little bugs were pushing the wood out of the base. When I contacted Anthropologie with pictures, they refunded the money but insisted that I return the lamp. This meant purchasing packaging supplies and touching this infested lamp again. They threatened to recharge me if the lamp wasn't returned. I have made a lot of purchases through Anthropologie in the past that I have been very pleased with. This is my first and last complaint because I will no longer purchase from them. I also left a review for the lamp that they refuse to make public. It's very interesting and deceiving to the public that the reviews for this lamp are all 5 star. It's a very unethical practice.

I've been trying to purchase 2 items from a bridal registry that links to Anthropologie. I won't bother describing the inefficient selection process, but every time I put through a purchase, about an hour later I get an email saying the order has been cancelled. After 4 to 5 times of trying different ways to find and fix the problem, I finally called them. The very nice representative told me Anthropologie cancelled the order because they needed more information to create an account for me. I don't want or need an account, just to make this purchase! But they say an account is necessary and the ONLY remedy is to wait for 72 business hours while they look at what information is still required to create the account. Meanwhile, they won't hold the items I'm trying to purchase while they do this. What utter crap! Why doesn't their website request this essential information? Why don't they send an email asking for this information? I asked these questions, and was told they were waiting for me to contact them!!!! How do you spell ineffective? Anthropologie. Trying to be helpful, they suggested I find a friend with an account who could order the items for me. Ha! I am going to give cash to the bridal couple and screw you Anthropologie!

I purchased a top online, in the store. An employee did the sale for me. Right afterwards, my daughter's credit card that is connected to mine but with a different number, had a $316 charge on it. She has never shopped at Anthropologie. She protested the charge, the company determined it was truly fraud and credited her card back. However my purchase never arrived. I called customer service and was told I am 'forever banned from ordering online from Anthropologie' due to the fraud on my daughter's card. Btw she is an adult and has her own household. Customer service told me that I would have to pay the fraudulent charge on my daughters card to be able to order again. What the heck?

I made an online order of over $2000 on May 4. It said 6-9 business days for delivery. I still hadn't received anything by May 17th and the tracking page hadn't been updated from order received. I emailed the customer service chat and they told me there was a hold on my order and gave me a number to call. The customer service representative said they needed to clarify some information before the package could be sent because there were duties (all of which I provided on the order, such as name, address, email) - duties were included in the fee I paid. The representative said it was my bank's responsibility to follow up with me and I said this was Anthropologie's responsibility - if they need more info from a customer, they should be contacting me. I have never had such a problem from any company I've ordered from online. I let them know this was poor service and requested they rush the parcel given that it has taken so long. She refused and I expressed my frustration that I would now need to wait another 6-8 business days. The representative said she was sorry I felt this way, and then hung up the phone. Very poor customer service with online ordering that contrasts starkly from service in Anthro stores. Will likely never order online from Anthro again
