HORRIBLE COMPANY.I would give a 0 if I could. I am writing to put in a severe complaint about Cigna. I am incredibly disappointed and quite frankly, appalled, by the service we have received since we had signed onto a policy with Cigna. We had a very helpful sales agent who called me multiple times to sell me a package. He sold us what was covered in the plan but failed to mention in the multiple phone calls that we had that we would only get refunds back after a $10,000 USD deductible. We live in the developing county of ******, no bill would ever come to $10,000 usd so essentially we would never be reimbursed for any of our medical needs. This is not what we signed up for and was not communicated to us whatsoever. If it was, we would have not agreed to this policy. They failed to mention this to me when we signed and now they refused to cover any of our emergency medical expenses, which frankly did not even sum to a total $200. Instead of just paying this and keeping valuable customers, they chose to lose a lifetime customer. In the end of it all, **************** only agreed to pay me $8 of the $200 and because they have a no refund policy if they approve of a claim within the year, I cannot receive a refund for my coverage plan as they approved this small $8 expense. I would prefer for them to have approved NOTHING at all and get my refund back entirely then to just get this $8. The man on the phone told me there was nothing they could do despite the fact that we did not get ANY service from Cigna, and despite my asking them to cancel the approved $8, his hands were still "tied". This feels like an absolute sham and I will never use or recommend Cigna to anyone I know living abroad. The service I recieved was absolutely appalling, rigid and unfair to any customer. You must be transparent with what you sell to customers living abroad and its a real shame that we have this horrible experience with your company.

Horrible customer service. They spent 2 months losing my application for Network Adequacy Provision. They have no contracts with birthing facilities near me and denied my request because they said the birth wasn't high risk. It shouldn't matter if the birth is high risk or not, we still need a facility to give birth.

It has been 11 months of repeated calls, expediting payment (not!) and given a reference number plus talking to countless supervisors. The provider has called numerous times. Cigna admits that a service I received 11 months ago is covered 100 % yet they also admit they never issued payment to my provider. Im writing corporate office and copying my provider. Call center is outsourced with incompetent people. They are full of promises that go nowhere. DO NOT GET CIGNA!

Had Cigna insurance from December 2023-October 2024. They covered absolutely nothing yet have incredibly highly premiums. In February of 2023, I went to ************ They processed the claim a few weeks later and said I owed nothing. Now in July of 2024, they reprocessed the claim and are now saying I owe $175. How this company hasnt been taken to federal court for fraud is beyond me.

I have been back and forth with Cigna about a claim I filed last year. I keep getting the run around concerning my claim I filed. I was told my CLM1004 Certificate inactive on Date of Treatment performed. I called and spoke with an agent and she said that my member ID was incorrect. She gave me a new member ID and refiled my claim. Then I was told there were no dates on the doctor's note, which they are there clear as day. Everything I call I get a new claim number for the claim I already filed. Their communication is horrible. I was told by ***** that she was going to go ahead and get the resolved because it's been going on to long now. Then I get several denial letters saying my CLM1004 Certificate inactive on Date of Treatment performed. I work for Pharmavite and I have the premiums taking out of my paycheck biweekly. If my certificate is inactive I want a full refund of all premiums paid.

My mother has been with Cigna for over 3 years. Last year she was diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer. This year it escalated to stage 4 and she's been on chemotherapy treatment for over 6 months. Every 2 weeks, 2 days of the week we are in and out of the hospital for her treatments. Combined with follow up appointments, CT scans, etc she's been using Motivcare to get her where she needs to go. Yesterday, in the middle is trying to schedule transportation for her appointment on the 8th, a representative informed her they couldn't go forward because she had "ran out of rides." She was instructed to call Cigna and asked for approval for more rides. The Cigna representative did put in the request but stated it would 14 calendar days for a result and there was a chance it wouldn't be approved. Firstly, Cigna never notified her that she had a certain number of rides she can utilize. Secondly, it's bad enough people have to wait 2 weeks for an answer from Cigna but then on top of that you might still be left out to dry waiting all that time just for them to not approve the request. The point of transportation is so your customer/client can get to their medical necessities. Now I see why any time my mother mentions she's under Cigna, other healthcare professionals point out how hard Cigna is to work with and how cheap Cigna is. No one asks to be sick, let alone have cancer. No one wants to be at a hospital more than they're at home but that's life sometimes. If it's not those OTC cards people can't use at stores anymore (because they don't want to pay for your necessities), then it's the medical bills they put the bare minimum towards or it's lack of transportation. Cigna and other companies like them need to stop making an already difficult time more difficult for people just so they can pocket more money.

There is a special place in h*** for these people. I have an ESTIMATE that I have been trying to get coverage on since 5/13. It is now 8/7. I have called multiple times and spoke to multiple customer service *********** lie! Each one has told me they will look into it and they will look in to it. today was the final straw when the woman who I was talking to said "let me call your dentist and get the information we need". This was done months ago and when I was standing in front of the assistant who was emailing Cigna the info they needed! Then I was told, the paperwork was submitted but not where it usually is on the computer.....then the next person literally asked me the questions that is supposed to be asked of the dentist. I answered anyway because I am desperate. This is an estimate on a $757 partial that has not been replaced in 20+ years. This is not some $10K expense.....They are crooks and want to take your money and not cover anything even though I am well within my plans coverage. Never go with this place. you are better off keeping your money and just paying pout of pocket because the headache you will get with this "company" and the amount of stress over everything with them...is just not worth it. They lie and do not care about you as a person trust me. Stay far away!

Everything is outsourced. No one communicates so you have to repeat everything you said in a previous call. Everyone assures you that you're all set when you're not. Lucky if you can even get a human on the phone. Record profits but can't spend any money on a good customer experience

Cigna is truly the worst healthcare provider out there! I had a preventative procedure that I was due for last year (2023) and Cigna had a third party send out a kit "free of charge" and said no stipulations if anything came back positive it could be a "referral" towards the real procedure. Little did I know and something Cigna never disclosed was that that next procedure I got would not be a preventative procedure and I ended up getting charged the full amount of something I was planning to get done that year anyway as preventative care before they sent out that third party kit. They truly are all about making money and couldn't give a sh*t about people. I know people have to rely on insurance but really look into other providers before going through them. I'm looking into filing a complaint and getting this out to all media/ news stations.

Literally the worst experience Ive ever had in my life - my son has Cigna Insurance and has needed tubes put in his ears urgently since May as he has had 6 ear infections in 2024 thus far. Tell me how Cigna does not have a single Pediatric ENT that is in-network for his insurance plan? Every time I call to complain they send me their in-network provider directory and Ive called every single doctor on that list and not a single one is actually in-network. False advertisement at its finest. Half of the doctors on their list dont even see pediatric patients and a good chunk are sleep specialists or plastic surgeons, not pediatric ENTs. Ive been trying to find a solution with Cigna since May, meanwhile my son keeps getting ear infections and is at risk of going deaf permanently if he doesnt undergo this procedure soon. Cigna assigned me a case manager whose best advice was "just put a different zipcode when your look up our provider directory". How am I to trust a company whose "managers" dont know how to help a customer in extreme need? And apparently **************** has a terrible reputation with doctors because I was also told I could get out-of-network doctors to sign a network exemption form and every doctor *** called about this form have said they refuse to sign this form because theyve had bad experiences in the past with Cigna and this form specifically. How is it possible that this company is still in business if no doctors are willing to work with them? All I need is an in-network Pediatric ENT and apparently thats too much to ask from an insurance company that advertises having a massive in-network provider directory. Will definitely be seeking legal action against this sham of an insurance provider.
