Worst insurance ever. They will decide not to cover your procedures even when your policy says its covered. They are so slow in processing claims and have terrible customer service.

Once we can get off of this insurance I would never go back even if it was the only one available! 1400 a MONTH for TWO people is insane! And to top it off all of the providers and the lists they provide me with end up not accepting Cigna or are NOT in network. And nobody wants to help.

By far the worst, I feel more stressed dealing with Cigna than from my actual ailments. It's a repulsive business. Over time and on multiple occasions, Cigna gave the green light to approve treatments for myself and dependents only to reject them later. Responses as to why change each time we call and contradict any information provided in writing. Additionally, I was forced to pay for weekly physical therapy because the insurance doctor deemed it necessary for me to undergo additional testing. X-rays cleared me of the need for physical therapy, but that didn't matter, and now they won't cover my physical therapy. The insanity!

Beware of their policy and clause. Cigna had certain clause in place. Clinic informed me it's a loophole insurance providers use to deny any claims regardless or the procedure/time of occurrence or switching from different insurance provider, etc. They are quick to receive payment for policy but when its time to get support or utilize the coverage your paying for, this insurance will find reasons as to why they won't cover based on hidden policy or clause that was never mentioned before registering for the policy or this insurance provider. by far the worst insurance coverage I have had. Cancelling asap.

There is no word strong enough to describe how awful it is dealing with Cigna to resolve billing issues. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get payment for claims that I submitted 8 months ago. I can never speak to the same person and when I ask to speak to a supervisor no one is ever available.

Cigna critical illness insurance is absolute garbage! Initial claim packet has no HIPPA form in it. So you get declined before your claim even starts. After weeks of trying to get updates **************** is incredibly unhelpful (yet always polite). They cannot tell you where they are in the process of your claim. After weeks then they tell you they need labs and pathology, AFTER an oncologist submitter their paperwork. It doesn't stop there folks. After a few more weeks you will have to send in your entire health summary for the previous year to PROVE that you didn't have cancer before. In our case the summary is over 800 pages. You cant upload the documents because 28Mb is too big. Its 2024 folks, what a joke!! 28Mb? Then they say you can fax it. Fax 800 pages, seriously? Oh, you can mail it but be aware it will put your claim back 60 days. So, you want me to send you almost 2 rems of paper in the mail, um no. Like you wouldn't have filled a claim then. So disgusting I literally had to vomit in my kitchen sink. I have had to use disability type policies several times before in my life with great service and quick payouts. Cigna has without a shadow of a doubt made it very apparent that they will push CRITICAL illness claims out as far as possible and not offer in good faith business practices for which I have been paying 15+ years for. I will not be renewing this policy next year!

Cigna is awful!! Just what you would expect from any insurance company that has exclusions so they don't have to cover things like an implant for a missing tooth. I wonder what I pay insurance for.

I currently have a non healing wound around my right ankle which is getting worse each day. All my test came back normal, but my wound keeps getting worse. My wound doctor contacted Cigna recommending hyperbaric treatments, because my plastic surgeon does not believe any type of skin graft will take. Her peer to peer review with the Cigna Dr. was initially denied. Finally a peer to peer review was approved, but again, hyperbaric therapy denied according to their criteria. My wound doctor appealed the decision, and again it was denied. My plastic surgeon also wanted me to have hyperbaric therapy. Since it was denied after several attempts, my plastic surgeon now will take me into surgery, only to expect any graft fail. I just received a official denial letter from Cigna stating they won't approve hyperbaric therapy. That decision was made a medical director of Cigna, Dr. who is a ENT and Neurotoxicologist. How can a ENT specialist make any kind of decision regarding a medical condition he knows nothing about???? Meanwhile, my wound keeps getting worse, my pain is getting worse, and I need to undergo unnecessary surgery, hospitalization, and loss time from work. I do not recommend Cigna Insurance and hope my company changes back to BCBS!!!

If I could get a new insurance carrier I would! I got crowns done in 2022. The claim was filed as out of network which was incorrect so I was charged 5k. I was unaware of this until the dentist office called me. I have been having this claim for an appeal 7 times now!!! 7 is way to many and they keep denying the claim stating my contracted rate is maxed. Yet you paid for the out of network claim and approve the claim. Just file the claim as in network and send the payment you just got back and say you paid it with the in network. Instead I am made to pay more than I already paid out of pocket and my secondary insurance hasnt even got the dang claim yet. I have been trying to get a supervisor but no one wants to help me. I have been calling every week since Aug 2023 because of this claim and it still not resolved. Just got off the phone with another rep who said a supervisor would call me. I have been waiting for a supervisor for months. Horrible company and scammers!

I filled a claim on 01.02.2024, for 1 ER visit, 4 Dr. ************ and 8 PT appointments. To date I have received one payment for 1 PT appointment. I have made up to 50 calls and yet to receive an update on the claim or payment for this claim. At this point I would like to get this claim paid and cancel the insurance and request a refund for my premium that I have paid.
