Cigna has denied 2 of my claims (the others are still pending) because they are under the assumption that I have another primary health insurance called Highmark, which I do not. They won't tell me where they're getting this information, and I have contacted Highmark to see if I'm in their system and they told me "there has never been any trace of you in our system". This is what I expected of course, considering Highmark is based in PA and I live in KY. They keep saying they've changed it in their system but they haven't. They even asked for a letter stating the end of my coverage from my previous insurer, Anthem, which I faxed to them but it still hasn't changed anything. Every time I call and talk to a representative they all go through the same process, tell me the same thing, but so far no resolution. This issue started in June and has been going on for almost 6 months now

This company should get 0 stars! The billing department misinforms their customers and the management team is a huge joke! No empathy and lack of customer service skills. After calling their billing department close to 1 month, 5 different representatives and 1 supervisor, I was told at the last call that I was misinformed and nothing could be done to resolve my issue. Renewal time came up and I made a plan selection and mandatory payment on the government website for Jan 2024. This company took my funds and allocated them to one of my premiums for 2023 and not 2024 as I had only authorized. I spoke with the following reps: 11/8- John in Billing, 11/17 JD in billing, 11/20 Ron in billing (rudely disconnected my call and was unable to get through to anyone), 11/27 Lizelle in billing and finally a supervisor named Lori. Instead of trying to make things right, I was told that the reps who assisted me should be coached for the misinformation and that nothing could be done to correct this information. I was told by Lori that she is correcting the issue by informing me correctly of the issue today and not refunding me back the funds they took and allocated at their sole discretion without my approval. I was told that if I wanted to cancel, then maybe I should. This company is reprehensible.

This company is designed as a go between for insurance and providers, this company serves no purpose other than to cause confusion and delay of patient care. The inability to keep accurate records and communicate consistent messaging is astounding and speaks to the state of healthcare. The lag time for processing the unnecessary requirements is shameful. Avoid...avoid..avoid if at all possible. I need an MRI for major TMJ issues that I have been dealing with for several years. The supervisor denied the MRI, because I told them this company sucks. It was denied without documentation from my doctor. It was denied because I told the supervisor off and told them this third party is bad. I am reporting this situation to the correct agencies and my insurance company.

There is no score less than 1 star.

Cigna has been calling me for months. Even after I block their number, they just go to their next one.

The clincher was today. They showed up AT MY HOUSE for an "in-home check-up." We never give out our physical address, as we use a PO Box. I was at work. They asked for me by my nickname (rather than my given name). They told my husband I was expecting them. I don't have their insurance and naturally, never will. I don't know where they got my address, let alone my phone number.

I wish they'd leave me alone. I have Aetna insurance and I'm very satisfied with them.

Cigna bought the right to administer Medicare part D in 2022. Before they did it, it cost me nothing (0$) for each of my 5 drugs. As soon as they took over, they started raising prices, until now it costs $20 per drug and $50 monthly premium. I also found out separately that Cigna is the worst denier of medical procedures in their MedAdv. plans. This company is a piece of shit covered in vomit. DO NOT SIGN UP!

Every procedure or test is a fight. They use a third party company (Evicore) to determine approvals and Evicore denies just about everything. My cardiologist has been trying to get test covered for nearly two months with no luck. They are literally playing games with my life right now. Run from this company if at all possible. I don't have a choice due to this being my only option through my job.

My company sent me abroad. I am working in Japan. We use Cigna International for Health Care coverage outside the US. My wife gave birth in Japan. Birth was uncomplicated and normal. Now one key difference is that unlike in the US, the typical hospital stay in Japan is 5-7 days for normal deliveries. For cigna to offer an "international plan", I would imagine they should be sensitive to the norms and customs of other countries as not all medical systems are the same. I challenged cigna to find me any hospital in Japan that recommends 2-3 day stay - no response. They only say that 3 days is coveraged (as that would reflect the expected length of stay in the US). The way I see it is that there some health care that cigna international plan coverage cannot cover in other countries because they expect every country to abide the same medical norm. In my case, pregnancy cannot be adequately covered anywhere in Japan by the Cigna International Plan. They assumed it was my choice of hospital which requires the extra days. I tried to convey that it wasn't my choice of hospital deeming 6 days is necessary, but instead the length of stay is typical in Japan as a whole. I told them doing a quick search online would prove that point - no response. Cigna International Plan failed me for requiring a common medical procedure because I was in the wrong international location. Without an exemption (which i cannot seem to get), birth deliveries are not adequately covered in Japan. I feel scammed. Cigna International Plan is not sensitive or aware of international norms of other countries so they shouldn't be offering health care to dupe people into believing they are covered.

Very disgusted how they call me and try to get me to have my cancer treated at another provider because they feel Moffitt is too expensive. Moffitt is one of the top cancer centers in the country, no way I will go to anyone else.

When it comes to paying dental claims CIGNA is the worst dental program that I have ever been in. It’s almost like they do not want to pay. Here is my situation. I had dental work done and I have been going back-and-forth trying to see what they are going to pay and when they are going to pay. My dental offices more than one, is after me about paying. I pay my dental insurance every month it comes out of my paycheck. Therefore, I am dropping them and will no longer deal with them. These are the reasons why. I called and spoke with someone by the name of Mary and explained to her that my dental insurance has not been paid. She intern tells me that they can’t and will not pay unless they have all of the information. She calls my dental office and speaks to the receptionist. The receptionist states that she emailed them the information and also mailed it to them. Mary told them OK I see it now. Yet nothing ever transpired. On a later date, I spoke with someone named Dolly and the same situation occurred. On another date I called and spoke with someone name Robert and the same situation occurred. On another date I called and spoke with someone named Ryan and the same situation occurred. On another date I called and spoke with someone name Marvin and the same situation occurred. Finally, I called and spoke with someone named Vicky and the same situation occurred. This has happened so often that my dental office told me to please not call them anymore. So now I’m stuck with a bill that I may have to pay because CIGNA refuses to pay. Can you help me please!

I've been waiting for my refund for over 3 months (since Aug 7, 2023). Every time I call, it's another reason for not getting my claim approved and refund sent. In fact, I've been told it's been approved multiple times and the refund would be sent in 10-15 days. Now, with the last call, it is not approved again because they need more information from the provider (historical information). I've only been to this provider one other time (4 years ago for the same issue that was paid with no problems with another dental insurer). At this time, it will be well into the new year before receiving my refund that is a benefit that is owed to me. One shouldn't have to call weekly and get nasty in order to receive a benefit. One shouldn't have to fight for insurance benefits every single time. I wouldn't have Cigna dental ever again. I don't know if they are either completely incompetent or if they are pulling something on us. Either way, it isn't right. Run from this company. This is why providers aren't taking dental insurance and asking for full payment up front. I don't blame them if it takes this long for insurers (specifically Cigna) to pay. My provider has had to send my information in 3 times. They are angry about it. Instead of updating my claim, they opened up 3 separate claims on the same service. This has caused a hot mess. Incompetence or scamming customers? I don't know. I want closure. I want my refund. I want to move on since I no longer have Cigna. I won't stop if that's their goal. Someone needs to slap their hand. I'm not the only customer dealing with this. How are they still in business. Shouldn't have to appeal each and every claim!!!
