I switched from UHC Medicare to Cigna Medicare Preferred for Oct. 1, 2023. This was done through a broker call. I switched since UHC was no longer contracted with either of my providers. I received my card and contacted Cigna to get my PCPs name on my card. I was then informed he was NOT contracted or participating. I've been with the doctor for 5 years and they helped me through my disability approval. Now I have to find some stranger to trust. Then I found out my therapist is NOT covered either. I have been going to her for 5 years and she has seen me for free for 4 years. I have a medical condition that prevents me from socializing. So now what?
I called Cigna at least eight times to see about a new PCP. I had eight different imbicilic conversations and was blatantly lied to. Last I heard the closest PCP is 55 miles away. Plus I cannot participate in some of the rewards through Cigna unless I see my PCP.
I know I'm not the only one with a grievance with Cigna or any other company but the insurance world is a mess and hurting more than helping. I'm paying for Medicare every month for the last three years and I cant use it and I need medical care badly but can't pay for services not covered, nor find a advantage plan that is transparent and comprehensive.
It's time to end this and take care of our people!

Please let people know that complaining to bbb.org is fine but to call ************** if they want something to happen. After a number of complaints, original Medicare might put Cigna out of business. These are serious concerns and there have been a number of lawsuits filed against Cigna including false claims. My issue is minor compaired to what I’m reading here. My doctor sent a referral to an orthopedist 2 months ago and we’re still waiting for approval. Cigna has no record of it. I’ve been in pain since September 5, 2023.

Worst insurance ever. Continue to deny mri cervical needed for nerve pain. History of back and nerve issues and currently on disability for those. Three separate doctors have submitted a request they continue to deny approval. Thinking I might need a lawyer.

Filed a supplemental insurance (accident insurance) for my wife breaking her foot in a fall. They've done absolutely everything to keep from paying. We've been calling weekly now to get updates because they ghosted us. Numerous disclosure forms have been signed and returned, and then today they deny our claim due to non-payment... It's a corporate plan that I've had for 5 years the money comes out of my check before i even get it, I filed the claim from MyCigna. So now I have to go through their appeal process, so looking forward to weekly calls there to try to get this claim paid. They're basically thieves, they steal from us because there are no consequences. Here's to another 6 months of fighting with them.

Open enrolled in Cigna Medicare Supplement plan G three years ago, when eligible. Nonsmoker, male, no preexisting conditions, no medications. Used three discounts: household discount, paying annual premium, and electronic payment. Each year Cigna has raised premium prices by 10% or more. Recent increase is 25%. Premiums are doubling every 4 years at this rate. Cigna demanded payment two weeks before due date. No notice given and refuses to provide details of the bill or what discounts were applied.

I have appealed for a claim. I have a fertility insurance through my job that is supported by Cigna.
progny my fertility insurance and Cigna my medial insurance both are just keep giving me run around and I can’t get hold of someone who can really help every single time I called I speak to someone else. This is going on since march 2023 and this is so frustrating that they both can’t cover the cost of my treatment that was 100%covered by my fertility insurance. Progyny asked told me that they will cover it if Cigna can approves it because it backdated. Well I want to know why am I going through this when someone from Cigna or progny failed to do the job on their end.

My PCP ordered an MRI for a chronic shoulder injury in March, however after a prior authorization denial letter from Cigna/Evicore I learned I needed to go through 6 weeks of PT first. First of all, I feel that's bad practice because the PT and PCP should know what they are dealing with with a simple initial MRI rather than just trying different PT exercises just to see what may work. But okay, I completed 7 PT visits, in which my PT specialist recommended an MRI after the 7 visits, and then I had a follow-up with my PCP showing I did not improve. My PCP re-ordered an MRI and Cigna again denied the prior authorization saying that it was medically unnecessary and for some reason, I still needed 6 weeks of PT, which they already got documentation about. I made sure that my PCP sent in all documentation and I took it upon myself to also send in the information. A week later I received a letter from them "not fully reversing their decision" describing that they approved the procedure, but did not approve the requested facility. My PCP ordered the MRI again at a different facility that was in-network and approved. However, we still got a letter back denying the procedure, but this time the facility was approved BUT the procedure wasn't approved. Umm....how is that possible?!?!

I have been on the phone with this fraud company over a dozen times now without any help. My PCP has submitted all required information showing I followed their prior authorization requests before the MRI. We initiated all of this in March, and it is now October with no MRI yet, and I still have a problem shoulder.

Overall, I did everything they asked of me to get an MRI and they just kept coming back with a different reason to deny. Cigna is a fraud insurance company which does not care about your health.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPANY!! Stay far away! The Cigna website for providers stated that the plan I had was in network with my dentist. I had them triple check, before, day of, and after the appt. When time came to pay for the services Cigna refused stating my dentist was not in network. I go to appeal the decision with proof that the Cigna website shows the dentist was in network with my plan and they refused to acknowledge it denying my claim (twice). They then lied to me, gave me the run around, hung up on me multiple times, transferred me a dozen more...to the point that I had to involve the Department of Labor. Cigna dragged their feet for so long that I had to pay the bill so it wouldn't go to collections and impact my credit. They are wholly unethical and I 1000/10 do not recommend this insurance company to anyone! If I could give them 0 stars I would.
