Worst service ever- should look for a class action suit. Took over 2 weeks to get approval for my PT following a surgery - that is a crime.

Too bad I can't give Cigna 0 Stars. I bought Cigna Global Health for living in France for 6 months. The company accepts your premiums ($6,000) but doesn't pay the claims. "We're working on it...blah, blah, blah." I've been courteous and persistent without any response. So, I'm filing a formal complaint. Avoid this company at all costs.

Cigna is making the prior approval process for a medication very difficult and confusing. They are purposely refusing to answer our questions as insureds. We can contact and speak with a representative very easily and have done so numerous times, the problem is that they all say the same thing, “sorry, we can’t help you with that” if we ask to speak with someone who can we are told that no one from the prior approvals department will be able to speak with us or answer any of our questions. Our son took a medication for his ADHD for almost a year before we switched to Cigna. Our Cigna plan does cover the medication he was taking but only if he tries and fails with 3 other medications first. He has already tried and failed on 2 of the 3 medications and the third one has been out of stock for months. They will not approve the medication he was taking under our prior insurance until he tries a third drug that has a known shortage? We have an appeal into them and are told that the department is behind on their normal 75 business day timeline to review it. School is starting and my son needs to be approved for a medication that is allowed under our plan but not without Cigna first exercising it’s right to put it’s insureds under an extreme amount of undue stress? This is a child, who’s educational and social development is at risk, with his needed medication being unnecessarily delayed.

(AP) — A federal lawsuit alleges that health insurance giant Cigna used a computer algorithm to automatically reject hundreds of thousands of patient claims without examining them individually as required by California law. The class-action lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court in Sacramento, says Cigna Corp.Jul 26, 2023
Undeserving of a best rating. This is a deplorable scam to make more money for the company while providing substandard coverage

Do not use Cigna. They are the epitome of evasive, disingenuous and downright intentionally incompetent. I hurt my forearms weight training over 10 months ago with 'stress fractures' as well as bone bruises. Apparently because they are STRESS fractures they refuse to help me further even though I've been hurt for 10 months. I've lost months of training, gaining and pursuing activities because of this. This is ultimately what they want, you go degrade over time while providing nothing while you pay them a stupid amount of money. It appears they pay companies to be the only option (my case) then provide nothing. If you try and call they be evade your questions, tell you they can't help you, can't send you to someone that can help and again....provide nothing. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you can. They are petty and don't' provide anything to help your 'health'

I agree with the other 1 star reviews. Cigna is the worst. I submitted a dental claim and never heard from them until I decided to call and check. First I was told there was information missing on the claim and time for submission had run out so it was denied. No one told me more information was needed. Once I started my persistent safari to hunt for answers, it took 5 phone calls where I was told 5 different things, none of which concerned my claim. I was transferred to email department, medical claims department, 2 front line phone receptionists who have no clue how to get information. When I demanded to speak to a supervisor I discovered no two people have access to the same information in the company. When I called back and asked to speak to the same person I talked to the day before, I was told she was too busy answering phone messages to take my live call. Is this what they call customer support??? I finally spoke with Dana after being on hold numerous times for eons (OK with me, I have unlimited minutes on my phone) who was able to tell me the claim is being processed. Though I still don't have my money, I am closer than I was 4 months ago. I will not renew this policy.

My doctor was listed on their website AND their profile on their healthcare marketplace as an in-network provider, but I received a bill and an EOB saying she was not in-network. Three phone calls later I still have not had this issue resolved. I have already switched companies, but find myself continuing to fight with them and am incredibly frustrated.

Cigna is the worst insurance company on the planet. They will deny every claim until you fight them for your coverage. They will limit your prescriptions to less than the bare minimum needed for a month. You will have to fight for EVERYTHING. If you have a choice in insurance DO NOT buy insurance with Cigna.

My company switched to Cigna dental this year and it is, by far, the worst insurance company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have two claims still outstanding that my dentist is dunning me for. One is from November, 2022; one from March, 2023. What other reviewers report is correct - Cigna does not have a working appeals process for claims that are initially rejected. I have personally called/chatted on-line with six different reps over the last two months. Each time I am told the claim is being escalated. Most recently, it was escalated to the 'same day adjustment team" which needs TWO WEEKS to think about the claim. That's right - the SAME DAY adjustment team needs TWO WEEKS. Am thinking of getting a lawyer at this point. Would leave 0 stars but cannot publish review otherwise.

I am a medical provider. Cigna has referred patients who have an exclusive epo plan telling them we are in network and their services will be covered then they deny all the claims and leave the patients at risk for law suits. This is organized crime at best. They are stealing from doctors and patients. They are lying to everyone. I work with very poor patients and they have stuck me with $20,000 in unpaid claims
They refuse to pay so I'm telling everyone how corrupt this company is and I'm filing a law suit. Already have an attorney. Please stop this monster company from hurting people. Google how much the ceo of cigna makes a year. It's disgusting.
