My new job offered me dental insurance which was cheaper and better so I called to cancel my policy. The lady on the phone told me that it will be canceled and I wouldn't have to pay anything. I come to find out that she did not cancel my policy and now I owe another month! I called customer service several times and I was told something different every single time! I even asked for a supervisor and the supervisor told me something different as well. They are making it so hard to leave!

$2000 out of pocket for the first dentist visit I've needed in almost 7 years(one tooth crown). Sent bills after visits requesting I pay more. This would be considered fraud and extortion if it were an individual operating a business like this.

If I could give negative stars I would. I got a PA denied on a medication that I have been taking for 6 years with positive results and not side effects. I recently got a new job that offers Cigna so I had to switch to this company for the first time ever. They are trying to make me switch to the generics that I have already tried 6 years ago that had very negative side effects and didn’t work because they are cheaper. I can’t help which medication works for me, they are not my Dr. nor are they me who actually has to take the drug. You’re an insurance company, don’t tell me what medicine works for me you have no idea!

Cigna has denied us coverage time and time again, including for our autistic daughter. We have spent hours and hours and hours of our life on the phone with them, fighting denied claims, sometimes to only receive back a fraction of the reimbursement that we are due. Even pre-approved claims are being denied and it's is having heavy financial tolls on our family. Several of our practitioners have dropped us because Cigna won't pay. Cigna is currently operating in immoral ways that are focused on their bottom line and not the people that they are supposed to be helping. They are being discriminatory, including towards families with disabled children.

Evicore denied approval for a PET scan ordered by my Oncologist for stage 4 lymphoma. Evicore said the reason is because I don’t have cancer! I had chemo, salvage chemo, stem cell transplant, more chemo and immunotherapy. Elicited can not say I don’t have cancer until a PET scan confirms whether or not I have cancer!

Not easy to register problems with identification the account but when calling the agent can access the account? Not given answers on dental claim as it was mailed several weeks ago. Told it would be several months to process claim.

How can my physician refer me to PT, the PT doctor then documents a verified my limited mobility in my shoulder range, and the impingement. The range of motion begins to improve, as well as pain but suddenly after weeks of two days a week therapy Cigna suddenly sends a notice letting me know they will not cover the cost of my therapy because they deem that it does not qualify for coverage and are actually trying to deny the coverage. Prior to this my wife also had an issue where she made a visit to Patient First because thinking due to a skin cancer excision appearing to be infected. The doctor she saw at Patient First came in for split second only to say he could not treat my wife because Patient First was not equipped for the sanitary conditions to inspect her wound. We paid our co-payment but then a few months later my wife received a hefty bill from Cigna stating that the Patient First visit was not covered due to the doctor there not being in network. This was a doctor that was indeed in our network, whom my wife had seen previously. The first rep was completely unhelpful and tried to say we owed the bill, but by second call I was able to prove that the doctor my wife had seen was in network, and now the bill has been paid like it should have been without any hassle. I get the impression that there is something nefarious going on with this company and I'd like to know why I keep receiving bills that Cigna is responsible for paying!

EviCore (via Cigna) is the ABSOLUTE WOSRT as they have no care for your health! The employers that choose they murders are putting your life in danger. EVERY single imaging or specialty drug has been denied. As you see from all the previous reviews, they don't even care to respond so that should say everything about them right there!

Worst insurance I've ever had. I did a lot of research on the medication that was best for my needs. I talked about it with two friends who were on the medication, including my partner. I discussed it with my doctor, they agreed that it was the best choice. Cigna refuses to cover the cost of the medication, which has drastically improved my life over the last two months. The reason? They want me to try every other medication first, even though they have side effects that I am not okay with dealing with.

My partner has cheaper health insurance and had no issue with her insurance. They didn't even question it. I now have to choose between paying $350 per month or going without medication that allows me to do function at a normal level at work and home life.

The HR department at my office has acknowledged that Cigna has been a disaster for our very large team. If you're considering switching to Cigna, I would highly advise against it. Cigna exists to take your money and deny every claim they can.
