Horrible customer service. Don't expect any help you're not going to get any. Cigna cancelled my part D plan in 2023 and automatically enrolled me in a much more expensive plan that didn't give me any additional benefits. Fortunately I noticed it in time and changed to a more affordable plan that seemed more online with what I had in 2022. I met the over $500 deductible with my first prescription of the year. In February I noticed that my pharmacy was not one of their preferred pharmacies and my copay was double that of a preferred of pharmacy which seemed to only include big chain pharmacies which charged more for my prescriptions than my local pharmacy that I've used for years? I called customer service and asked for a tier exception for 2 prescriptions that I've been talking since 1995 and was sent a letter of denial claiming that the FDA had not approved the meds for my diagnosis? This was determined by one of their doctors, not one of mine? I've already washed days of my time on this and it seems pointless to continue. It seems my appeal received an automatic refusal. It appears that insurance companies are going to tell doctors how to practice medicine and force local pharmacies out of business by making deals with big chains and forcing up prices.

I've had Cigna for the last few years as its the only plan my workplace offers, and in the past year things have gotten so bad. Every single claim I've had in the last year has had issues. I've had to call their support to get corrections made on claims over 4 times in the last year. Even something as simple as using their WEBSITE SUPPORTED MD Live for Cigna resulted in me getting and EOB that said my provider was out-of-networks.... THEY set me up with this provider on their own virtual appointment portal.. and then callede it out of network. I got them to correct it but it is just so insane how much time I have to spend making sure they aren't overcharging me.

If I could leave negative stars, I would leave -10. CIG na has to be the worse health insurance company I have ever had. They DO NOT care about their customers health, only their own profit. I pay hundreds of dollars a month for crap. I am in desperate need of surgery on my neck. I have had two MRIs proving I have substantial damage to the discs. My surgeon has PROVEN that I need this surgery time and time again. Still Cigna denies the coverage. This is taking a toll on my health and well being. I have missed work because of the unbearable pain. I would never recommend this insurance company to anyone, ever. Profit over coverage. It's all they care about.

Me, my doctor and a third party health advocate have been working on a very basic prescription refill for over 3 weeks. We keep getting the run around. They are not refilling me & it’s medication I can’t live without. They won’t even let me pay out of pocket. Each customer service rep gives us new info & hoop to jump through. We do it all, and still nothing. They’ve been filling the order for 8 years. Makes no sense and is a constant circle of nothingness. No one will help!

Awful. I had there coverage for 4 months and paid over $2,500 for that coverage. Used their insurance card one time during that period for a shingles vaccine (and the *** minute clinic took the insurance card and said it was covered at the time of service)... Now I am stuck with a $163 bill because Cigna won't pay and they tell me now that the "Premier Choice Plan" doesn't pay for vaccines for adults over the age of 18. Why did they give me a plan that doesn't cover my age group? What a ripoff. Bad business. Good riddance.

I have been trying for over a month now to get my claims that have been being processed incorrectly processed correctly. I called back in December and spoke to an agent on the phone to specifically ask about my doctor and my facility. I was told that my doctor and my facility was in net work. Me being a normal person who does not work in the insurance industry did not know that I needed to ask specifically about each individual provider that my children also see. I recently had blood work done a colonoscopy at urgent care visit for my daughter as well as an urgent care visit for my son. I recently had blood work done a colonoscopy at urgent care visit for my daughter as well as a urgent care visit for my son. All of these are billing is out of net work! I have been calling since December. For instance, my colonoscopy had I known that these were out of network I would’ve went somewhere else. This is absolutely ridiculous! I even have a letter from CIGNA dated December 22 stating that the University of Utah was in network. Now I’ve been working with a advocate who says that she’s going to send the call for review from December. That shows that I was told that my facility was in network. Now I am going to most likely be responsible for thousands of dollars of medical bills due to an accurate information and lack of the representatives responsibility to tell me that I had to vet each individual provider to make sure that they were net work.

Terrible. They said they would set up a policy for my mom after my dad passed and they never did it. I can’t get a straight answer from anyone there

After my employer dropped dental coverage, I joined the top tier of Cigna Dental insurance plans.
I went for a regular cleaning and was shocked several weeks later when I got a notice that the procedure was denied even though they state that they have 100% preventive care coverage. I appealed.
A wisdom tooth broke off leaving part of the root that had to be removed. I went for the root removal which was supposed to be covered under their plans in network and was shocked to find out that they denied this coverage also. My dentist was so shocked that they were turning everything down that he gave me a break on this procedure.
About a month later I started having pain in one of my teeth and the dentist felt that it needed root canal. By this time I had gotten a denial of my appeal for the cleaning coverage.
Went to the appointment with the root canal specialist and two weeks later they denied coverage for that evaluation.
I wrote an appeal but was afraid to go for any more appointments regarding the root canal because they were turning down everything.
Being in constant pain for a month and a half I finally received their denial of my appeal.
In 8 months they had turned down every single dental procedure that I had needed.
Because I had prior coverage, I was not supposed to have to use their waiting period which in some cases for some procedures even in network is a year. They absolutely do not tell you this and then even if you had the coverage they still deny everything even in network!
CIGNA DENTAL is absolutely the WORST!
