Please offer a zero stars choice for next time. One star is WAY too inflated for the "service" Cigna provides. I was told to immediately go to the closest emergency room by our employee clinic. So i followed their directions. Asked at ER when presenting my card to be sure it was preauthorized. I was having my first bout of diverticulitis and was in severe pain, couldn't have a bowel movement. Chills, fever, doubled over in pain and eventually fell asleep in the ER. They called me back and did all my vitals. Asked me when my last period was. I said I don't know, maybe 2 years ago. I've reached menopause. So they gave a me a pregnancy test that I didn't know about until I got the bill. Then i got a CT scan. (Medical blue book cost is $300 for a CT scan). I was in the ER for 4 hours. Saw an in network doctor for about 5 minutes. Received my bill for $14,000. One $200 charge was covered for the in network doctor consult. I was charged full ER price for everything else. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for a pregnancy test for a menopausal woman. TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a CT scan. And then other little charges here and there. I filed a thorough appeal and of course it was denied. Called dozens of times for help and kept getting told it was out of network and not preauthorized even though it was. Finally 3 days before the deadline to file a second appeal I spoke with a woman who said it should have been enhanced in network and it wasn't coded correctly. I asked her to help me get it filed and she agreed. Then the call dropped. Tried to call back and left messages. Never enhanced as in network so the bill is$14000 with zero being applied to the deductible so now my out-of-pocket is $18,000. Do not use this insurance company! It is the worst. I only have 243 characters left or I would be writing about another incident so stay tuned.

Garbage insurance. Does not cover anything they say they will cover, even for the most expensive plan. Quoted to cover all of our bill but 400 and sent back a bill for an additional 1000 with no warning or explanation. Then when asked why, they just said “trust us, it’s correct.” Over and over without ever telling me why it was supposedly correct. Over it and won’t use them again.

We have had Cigna for the last 3 years due to a change of employer. I have been working for over 30 years and have had 4 or 5 different health insurers. Cigna is by far the WORST insurance company we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Why? They deny everything and barely cover anything.
Let me give an example: While every other major health insurer was covering rapid COVID tests directly at the pharmacy, Cigna was running this scam where customers had to first buy the tests out of pocket and then jump through 15 hoops to get reimbursement. And you would only be reimbursed if you followed all the steps exactly and chose just the right kind of rapid test. They do this to avoid paying for the tests of course because their process is designed to discourage people from bothering with it.
If you have a choice, do not choose Cigna for your health insurance coverage.

I am an Insurance Coordinator for an oral surgery practice and unfortunately, I am forced to work with Cigna on a daily basis. Cigna is by far the most subpar, incompetent, and unsatisfactory insurance company I have ever worked with. They make more mistakes than any other company. They take longer processing claims than any other company. They constantly ask for information we have already provided. It’s as though they avoid paying claims anyway they can. I regularly spend hours on the phone trying to get them to correctly pay claims. I would recommend NOT HAVING INSURANCE over selecting Cigna as your insurance company.

I have an issue with HSA website where the investments page is not loading for 10-15days straight and they haven't resolved issue and are very reluctant to own up to problem. Investments in itself is very time sensitive and when you are well aware of the fact that you are going to lose money if you don't liquidate your funds and lose money just because of CIGNA's irresponsibility and they don't provide any kind of alternative. I have even asked them to close my investment account before I lose more money, and they said, they cannot do it and I have to lose more.
I have dealt with a lot of business' but never this kind of response from an organization. I would give them zero stars if I could.
If you're a Cigna HSA account holder, Issue is still there. I would suggest people to stay away from CIGNA. Existing/ex-customers would know this already.
Very frustrating, can't explain in words.

I haven’t had my medicine in almost a month and a half. I started to try to get it filled the first part of November I have two doctors stating this medicine is medically necessary but yet there a pill system doesn’t work. I was also told by the third appeal company that it doesn’t matter Xpress grips gets to decide if they fill in it or not. I have called the corporate office. I have written the CEO with no response unless I make the initiative who wants an insurance company like this they all need one stars if you were an older American and didn’t know what to do this is very sad that we do this to our elderly people over the United States insurance buyer beware

Unfortunately, staff provides excellent lip service but are not trained to do their jobs or provide sufficient information to process a claim. It took me 7-8 calls over a period of 2 months to get information about a requirement necessary to reprocess my claim. There is a lack of follow-up to existing claims and unprofessional staff however they are the friendliest staff you will ever talk to! Lol.

What a complete, total joke this insurance company is. Try getting hold of someone to help you in customer service. You'll have better luck winning the lottery. No wonder they have such a crappy rating. I've made numerous calls to numerous "customer service" phone numbers. I finally hang up after a full hour+ has passed being on hold (and listening to the same stupid short repetitive song play over and over). I will be changing to a different and more respectable provider at my very first opportunity. It's like Cigna is trying to loose customers (and it's working for me). If they can't even have a representative answer the phone, I certainly don't trust them processing any type of insurance claim for me. I can't even imagine what a disaster that would turn into. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING CIGNA FOR ANY OF YOUR INSURANCE NEEDS. Choosing Cigna is one of the biggest mistakes I've made in life. Run - don't walk - away from Cigna! I find it amazing that they are still even in business. But, on the plus side, I'm guessing folks are slowly but surely getting away from this useless insurance company and they won't be around much longer. Every review here for Cigna is ONE STAR. That should tell you about the quality of service they offer.

Cigna decided to end my coverage even though I kept paying for it, and for months I've been calling (well over 10 times) to get them to reinstate it with no effect, even after they said twice that it would be active in 24-48 hours. The app and website even say it's active, but providers say it is not. This isn't an insurance company; it's a scam tricking people into making donations to them for nothing in return.

We work at a Dental Practice and never before had we had such a horrible experience! The issue we are having, is that for short while are claims were being processed incorrectly as out of network. I explained this to the Rep, I asked if there was a way that we can talk to someone about it and send them the reference numbers for the claims so we can have done in mass. Rather than one at a time. The Rep said "No there is no way to do that." Then the rep asked if there was anything else. We checked 2 claims and got them reprocessed. Mind you at this is point, call is about 40 mins at this point and I had already mentioned that there were 3 claims that I have found so far. After he had reprocessed the 2nd claim, he had asked if there was anything else. I mentioned again that I had a 3rd claim. He then told me that he would have to end the call due to High Call Volume, and that I would have to call back later with the others. I admit, I did get upset, but after being on the phone for so long and trying to find another solution that would be more efficient for both parties and then being told that you have been on the phone long enough, and call back. THAT IS HORRIBLE SERVICE. I asked to speak to a manager, which low and behold none were available. I provided my callback number and hung up the phone.
I have worked in a Call Center before and THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The rep's name is Mario, and the call was on 12/9/2022 at 8:20 AM CST.
We would like for a Supervisor to reach back out to us so we can actually discuss a solution to the issue we are having with these claims.
