I’ve been dealing with Lincoln since beginning of my leave and it’s always been me waiting on you. I started LTD over 2 months ago, and I’m still waiting. AND I’m being told to be patient!! How can I when I got bills breathing down my neck?! You take advantage of the people that need you most because they don’t have a choice. You should be out of business with your ineptitude!

Horrible experience dealing with the Dental Insurance part of this business. Don't bother getting their insurance as they won't pay out a claim. We've sent claims into them numerous times and they say they weren't received or play the delay and blame game and don't pay hoping you will give up on your claim. If you're a business, do your employees a favor by not getting this company involved in your plan. If I could give them a negative rating I would. I don't know how they stay in business. It's no wonder they are able to afford to have their name on a stadium since they keep everyone's money. Stay away.

Communication between claim handler and insured employee regarding short term disability claim is non-existent. Client is informed claim will be addressed and claim handler will be in touch within 3-5 business days. It’s been over 4 weeks. No one has been able to get ahold of this person. Not even within the company. No one knows why the claim hasn’t been approved. It’s been going on 2 months now. Issue has been escalated to the claims supervisor who you also “have to leave a voicemail for.” If you do have to use this company- DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Phone calls, voicemails left, how long, who you spoke with- all email communication etc.

Horrible communication and customer service. Hopefully less companies will use them for their insurance needs in the future.

I started std In December. It was set to expire April 28th. I went to my Dr April 18th to get it extended. My Dr filed the paperwork and faxed it back to Lincoln Financial. My claims specialist "claimed" they didn't get the fax. I called my Drs office to verify the fax number. My Drs office assured me they faxed it again. My claims specialist still claim they did not get the fax. I dont believe them for one minute. As far as I know, it was faxed 3 times from my Drs office. This whole deal has been a nightmare!

"We are unable to process this request due to an unknown error and are working to correct the issue. Please try again later."

Not able to request a loan or withdrawal for over 30 + hours. Tech Support, does not follow through and no estimated resolution date/time. Basically holding my money hostage. Should not be legal,

Started claim process for my children’s twice yearly dental cleanings in November 2022. Mailed all info to address on my card for claims. No response. Attempted to call company but after multiple transfers and holds get nowhere. Then emailed all info on 3/2/2023. Got an automated email that I would be contacted in 24-48 hours. Nothing. Called again today and transferred 4 times to be told I can either email or mail in the claim info. I explained I have already done both. Then I get disconnected. Every transfer someone asked for my call back number in case of disconnection but did anyone call be back, NO. Reading other reviews, I agree they make process difficult and drag it out so many people will give up. They also keep mentioning after 6 months they won’t pay out claims yet they do anything they can to increase the time period. Even if I only get $13 back or even have to hire an attorney, I am seeing this through so they may not do this to other people. Horrible horrible company.

I appealed my long term disability case which somehow their doctors determine they know better than my psychiatrist and therapist. My psychiatrist wrote a letter stating my agoraphobia and anxiety is chronic and my therapist provided new office notes.
I am on SSDI currently and thankfully, but was with my employer over 20 years paying for this insurance and should be eligible for my SSDI to be supplemented and, if appeal was approved, keep my employer insurance until I can get Medicare.
Lincoln has made me more depressed and anxious and I don’t feel I have the strength to fight them anymore. It doesn’t make sense to me, my therapist or Human Resources why they were approving me, SSDI approved me yet they think I’m miraculously and suddenly no longer disabled to finish out my benefits through them. I feel sorry for all the people who have to go through the mental and financial stress of dealing with them.

This is a terrible company! I was out for gallbladder surgery for 4 weeks. I have yet to receive any payments and I'm now back to work for a week.
I'll call and I've been told I need more information which my doctor and employer have sent twice. I call again and I'm told they have everything and I'm approved. I call 2 days later and I'm told it's pending and they need more information. I called back later the same day and they said it's approved but I'm only getting 100 dollars. They keep playing games which I believe is intentional and never plan on giving me any money!

Blame Game should be in their business name. I'm a broker that switched from paper commission checks to ACH. They set up the electronic payments to the wrong bank and wrong account. It's been a year of torture, calls, emails, threats and they have yet to correct it. They even deducted the commissions they sent to the wrong bank and wrong account from my Jan 2023 commission. They are un-responsive, take no responsibility and make no effort in correcting their errors. Sadly they have done the same to my Pension clients and I have to move all my clients to another company.
Oh well. Lincoln used to be a quality company. Not any more.

Absolutely horrible is putting it nicely. My wife's employer offers short term disability insurance through Lincoln Financial. Her surgery was in December of 2022. She began going through the process of filing the FMLA paperwork and everything else she needed in November of 2022. Turned it all in, got it signed, etc. As it neared the end of December and she had been out of work for over 3 weeks and had not received any sort of payment, my wife reached out to them. Turns out although she had been given the impression everything was good to go, it wasn't. There were additional forms that she was never given that had to be completed to actually begin receiving short term disability benefits. So finally in mid January, after 5 weeks of being out of work, she finally received her claim payment. Only it was about 2/3 of what it should have been. So far, we have been in contact with them at least 7 times in the last 3 weeks to try and get this resolved. At one point, they even admitted that they had calculated her benefit wrong. That was 2 weeks ago, and we still don't have the money. We even emailed the claims agent directly and told him without this money, we would have trouble making our mortgage payment. He didn't even take the time to reply. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, this was one of the worst companies of any kind that I have EVER dealt with for anything. If you have a choice (my wife unfortunately didn't), I recommend you stay as far away from this company as possible. I'm actually a little disappointed that I can't give them 0 stars, because they deserve even less than that. Terrible, awful, horrible, horrendous, dreadful, and atrocious are just a few of the words that come to mind when thinking of this company. Our entire experience has been nothing but a headache, and it's still ongoing.
